The Last Castle (2001)
Quite possibly....
No. Let me rephrase that. This IS the worst " military" movie ever made. Having served at the location this is designed to represent (Ft Leavenworth), and knowing how the prison system there works, this is an abortion of fact and fantasy. But then again, I expect nothing else from a director who basically got himself kicked out of the military.
Jack the Giant Slayer (2013)
Left me wondering...
This was a fun movie to watch. It may be a bit intense for a younger audience though.
I was surprised that those that "always get their comeuppance" received it early on and really left no villains other than the giants. I do admit I laughed hard when a human was dealt with from a giant. Of course, I'm also the kind of viewer that asks why were the repeating arrow shooters not used early in the battle? To much military critique from me.
I found this to be very entertaining but I'm left hanging at the end....
What happens to the giants? You see them kneeling and that is it. Next thing is the bedtime story.
Ruby Cairo (1992)
Choppy
The premise and plot were great....just too bad the directing was not able to match.
I finished watching the movie with many questions left unanswered. Who were the men from Mexico overall? Who was being supplied the chemicals? Why did they shoot Faro? Etc. Also, the idea of a woman not having remains conclusively identified is too much of a stretch for anyone to believe. All of these things left me wanting more from the movie and feeling like I wasted time.
Too choppy for me but if a good director got ahold of the script, it could be a 10. Fill in the gaps.
