Horace and Pete (2016)
Skillful and magnificent
I love all the actors, meaningful and sane dialogues, deprived of pathetic emotions and realistic display of ideas beautifully expressed. I like Louie C.K., it seems like his sense of reality comes from keen insight of human pain and suffering, and my not so impressive analysis of this theater-like TV show is completely objective, and if you're reading this because you're asking yourself "should i watch this?" You definitely should. I'll now sound like a 14 year old girl with all this admiration but, this man is certainly a wizard of methods to entertain and pack ideas, humor, and reality into a one big package. Hope it lasts for a long time.
Knight of Cups (2015)
Strong
It seems like it's just a sequel of "The tree of life" with another story told the same way. To me it kinda is, but the film is not at all bad, and to be honest for almost 110 minutes i didn't felt any objective reality, i was in that movie and that was the beauty of that filming style, constantly moving and filming close-ups to make you feel like you're part of the moment, with a beautiful sounds of nature, city and music. I see a story of a man who has spent his life the wrong way, he didn't cherish the moment and was living stoically without emotion and he has the luxury and woman but he's "playing Call of Duty on easy". Don't watch the movie if you're impatient or have a low attention span, these are the type of movies that may inspire you to change something about you're life, don't approach it cynically or with arrogance, it won't do any good, on the contrary - it will show you how lame you are without you realizing. "There's so much love inside us, that never gets out" is the quote that can describe the whole philosophy of this film. I love Malick's movies and really think this is his worst one yet, but i strongly suggest everyone to watch it.
Grand Piano (2013)
An hour i'll never get back
This is my first review and at the same time the first time i reached the state of complete numbness or something opposite of nirvana. The movie starts of kinda dull, you've just met some kind of eccentric pianist who is not well adjusted to XXI century, don't know about you but it just goes in "it's kinda cliché" direction, and it is a writer's and director's job to prove us wrong, but they didn't. Story's not unique, and protagonist is this young fella who's some kind of genius or something, the only person alive who can play what is known as the hardest piece ever to be played. He starts playing and realizes that he's on gunpoint of a guy who doesn't want him to miss a note or he'll die, or his lovely wife. That strange lunatic man does that just because he and musician who owned that piano put a key in a piano, and the only way to get the key is to play the last 4 tablatures right, is this a joke or what? I was laughing, i'm not kidding. Well the whole story is annoying and boring, and i was in shock how lame it was, he didn't even use those piano pedals but you hear it in music he produces. That's all just an average bad movie, but what struck me the most in this piece of garbage was ending, when he goes in the truck to play the last four tablatures of that piece on broken piano and goddamn as you can predict he played it and as he disappointedly turned around and tried to get out, he hears lock and key falling. And there goes 10 minutes or so of credits, i mean what the hell?
If you want to see an enlightening movie, don't watch this, but if you want to torture yourself just go ahead, this is a movie for you.
