This is by far one of my most favorite movies of all time. Steven Spielberg is one of my most respected directors and produces who has been intensely involved in some amazing movies. This inspirational movie has some of the most emotional scenes. Most if not all the actors have portrayed characters with distinction. The movie is very well structured, an intense story line and brilliant settings and effect that just make this an outstanding movie to view. I have watched this move on numerous occasions and still find it highly enjoyable. It always brings a tear (or a few) to my eyes at the end as the closure is splendidly touching. I first watched this movie when I was about 11 years old and fully enjoyed it. Only an amazing movie can capture the attention and emotion of a young boy and still have the same effect so later in life.

This was quite different for me in that three quarters of the film was the build up, with all the action been cramped into 20 minutes. The story line in general was good, however, there where many scenes where I would have liked to have seen a different outcome. My first criticism with regards to this movie is the lack of much expected action adding to the fact that all the action was crammed into a short space of time. The second criticism would be the ending. There are many unanswered questions. Although there was no indication for a following sequel, these questions must be answered leading me to believe there may be a sequel at some point, probably with a completely different story line to the original, but some how linked.

I found this movie quite enjoyable. It's not one of those kinds of movies I would view again, however is worth watching the once. I think this movie is inspirational and empathetic to those of us who may be perceived or actually experience psychological conditions similar to that of the lead character. It shows the progress and changes made in both scientific and the social understandings, while also reveling the emotional impact this can have on those close to us. The performance of the lead characters was generally good and the story line quite clever. I love a film with a good ending, whether this be happy or sad. This film had a good ending.

This film was crude and extremely baffling. There was very limited structure that lead to confusion throughout. Poor levels of performance and inadequate dialog made this movie both disappointing and empty, leaving me unfulfilled to say the least. The characters quite simply had "no character". At the end of this movie I was left perplexed and very confused. The closing scene left me wondering what has just happened and why, how it links to the beginning and other scenes of the movie and has no closure or link for a sequel. I would probably have to watch this movie three times to grasp it, which I will not be doing as I will probably fall asleep if I try and watch it again.
