At the Drive-In (2017)
Great Slice of History
I grew up in Erie Pennsylvania and in the 70-80s there were still tons of the Drive-Ins left. I remember the days of cheesy horror and biker movies on Friday nights. When I was real young we would walk thru the woods to sneak in. My favorite on west 12th is now a mall.
That Dirty Black Bag (2022)
Very Good Spaghetti Western TV Show
Not sure what previous reviewers meant by saying this show ain't about nothing but "hoors" and a brothel (actually it's a very small part)
I guess the search for gold and all the people involved is a small part of the story. The crooked sheriff and all his killing and robbing is a pretty big part of the story as well. Don't forget all the money that the sheriff stole and the gang of really bad guys after him.
Even the story of the cross was fun. I really like the first 5 episodes. Each episode has been full of good/evil/fun and copious amounts of blood and sweat.
In regards to the reviewer lamenting a "PG" type show who thinks this is going to be a weak show is WRONG. Lots of "R" plus action and mayhem through out. If anyone likes truly gritty/tense/exciting action and an excellent plot/Story. This is it.
La morte ha sorriso all'assassino (1973)
Don't trust the Dead Lady in the Cemetery
Great first movie from Joe D! Loved the locations and the Edgar Allen Poe scenes (Black Cat, Cask of Amontillado and even Masque of Red Death). This movie has it all: Secret Inca Formula, people raised from the dead and lots of sex. Klaus Kinski as a mute mad scientist is a bonus. After watching this movie I don't think I would trust someone that is dead when that person shows up. Especially with a razor! The inspector was the fall guy in a movie I just watched earlier "Colt in the hand of a Devil" and closes out he film well.
It's a fun movie and I watched the Uncut Blu-ray which is the only way to watch.
...E tu vivrai nel terrore! L'aldilà (1981)
Best horror movie ever
Ten stars from me as well, I saw this on Times Square in 1984 as a crazed horror movie teen. I have NEVER forgot this amazing Fulci film or the insane experience wasof the long dead old school Times Square. If anyone remembers those days, you know what I mean. Actually watching the restored grind house version now. Watch this and any other Fulci and be amazed:Whole different category then Argento
The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015)
response to kev from Dallas
Well Kev since you can not even spell the title of your "letter". It makes sense to try to spell check your insecurities. What is the saying about "you protest doth too much" Lighten up man! You are getting way to bent out shape over a movie. Its not a sex movie and its not a rape movie, molestation or intimidation type movie.. Its only a movie and it's an auto-biographical movie. The lead initiates the sex and feels good about it. OH MY GOD..and its a FEMALE with feelings. I think your suggestion for the police to check the theater would just be an attempt to take the focus off of you. You are way to worked up , does it hit home? OR are you mad because its not you? Your the weird one that should be checked.
Ispytanie (2014)
Sad Love Story
I was under the impression this was a simple love story set out in the serene and idyllic steppes of Russia. It is a distant corner of Russia thought by Joseph Stalin to be uninhabited and perfect for these beginning tests of the Nuclear Era. . The movie moves along quietly except for some lovely music. This is a love triangle between a local girl and local boy with a foreign boy thrown in to make things interesting. It has a nice slow and easy pace with the romance building between the foreign boy and the gorgeous local girl (Elena Ahn). The communications between father and daughter are amply conveyed without benefit of dialogue. Amid these gusty climes, perhaps even language has been blown away.
Spoilers ahead:
I went into this movie not knowing anything about it. WOW it was a powerful ending that was far from expected. Our new lovers are watching the horizon as a test of a Russian H bomb goes off. We watch as the bombs deadly winds and destruction travel across their home and the final scene of the two lovers holding hands is very effective.
