The actors did good, the director did not.
21 May 2019
I have to give an aplause for the actors, the leading kid and especially the supporting role.

The plot was oversticky, and the problem was this stupid unconclusive no good ending. I mean, too much stupidity on the script. But the actors have to be applauded for what they tried to do with the material given.

Good, laugh, enjoyable

I think is the best way to keep the cuervos alive.

Is not Club de Cuervos, but gives some insight on every character on the series that does not have much screen time but are unique. Like the coach, the same Hugo Sánchez, his peculiarity and the insight on his family helps understand a lot why the character behaves how it does.

I recommend it, is just a few hours, i saw it all in a sunday night. Have some netflix and chill with it.

Too bad people with bad taste came first
16 April 2018
I saw the whole show in a 10 hour strip.

This is not a cult, is a new series with new develops to make. IS A GOOD THING THAT DOES NOT RELY AT ALL IN THE ORIGINAL.

I have seen the original, i have seen the reboot movie and this one liked me more. The actors will not earn an emmy yet, but they performed quite well. Dr. Smith is hattable but also pitiful (just like the original).

The season maintains the story till the end and leads to the next unanswered questions. That obviously we'll see on season 2. The kid that plays Will is awesome, sweet, smart and when it comes to it he knows what to do.

The mother and the daughters portrait how people actually behave on "families reunions". About the wrong science... if you want to see real science go to college, this is a fiction story can't have everything accurate, plus a lot of fiction is not science accurate, you know.. Jules Verne...

At the end of the day see it, I almost don't see it because of bad reviews but then choose to do it and couldn't stop until chapter 10. So see it. Enjoy it and make your own critic.

Good performances. Good cinematography.
14 April 2018
I liked more than anything, the acting. Was really good.

For many may look that the same old, same old story, but this one is not.

We see a guy who actually changed the way modern churches see people even if they don't want to accept it. He fought so churches see everyone as equals, just as God sees them and even though everything went sideways, his teachings (legit story) are now used by many modern churches in a different way and content but in the same essence. Hillsong for example.

If you have Christian friends whom behave like "God is gonna kill us all", you should share a moment with them on Netflix and... chill (With actual popcorn and chat, not... you know); is gonna help them understand that inclusion and God are alike.

Overall I think is a great story and the actors did a good job, even though has its lame moments just wait for a couple of minutes.. they will pass by.

Is it an Oscar worthy? Nup. is the best movie out there? Nup Is worth watching? Yes.

Not that bad, but... not what trailer showed.
25 March 2018
I was expecting, by the trailer, more real-fantasy if you know what I mean.

The lead acting is not that great, actually I liked more Sydney's Wade performance. She was smooth, sweet, but not cheesy; and when the time came she took the screen for her (There's future there).

The story is kind of well developed, when is about characters, each one of them develops in their own time and situations which makes it interesting; but as an overall is not that satisfying.

The screen time of Zöe brings real acting to the table, but still... is not enough. The lead role, even though was certainly well performed by Madison Wolfe, is like she didn't have much room to work with it.

Anyways, if you want your teen daughter to understand a bit more how to face her fears, fully recommended. If not... on a nothing to do weekend, go and enjoy.

The best of the best
4 March 2018
Saw it no stop. Makes you feel up into an imaginary world, and them breaks you up to tears, and again keeps up to make you dream, imagine and smile, laugh.

The script is well distributed, accompanied with a well distributed cast. Maybe some actors didn't do so well, but as an overall they could pull it out.

Is important to say that this is what we get when someone really wants to create something from the heart, this was sort of a dream project for Hugh Jackman, working on it for eight years, here we can now enjoy the results. Fully recommended.

The best dominican drama genre film so far
9 February 2018
I have always admired the work of José María Cabral, he is the most notable pioneer in Dominican Film industry. But this time he went full international and is awesome.

The filmography, the script, the actors, everything was quite awesome. At first you'll find some over acting, because it was actually filmed with real guards and some real prisoners (which is awesome in a way, because it takes to a reality trip.

No wonder it was the selection for best foreign language film by the academy. If you haven´t been able to watch it, go and do it. At some point you feel like is a documentary about Dominican Republic´s prison system, but while you are involved into the love relation that the two inmates have, is awesome.

The ending, unexpected; a bit predictable the last 20 minutes, but... still you want to make sure is true what you are expecting, because is like... "I think this is gonna happen, but it may go the other way around... I don't know, I will have to wait to the end".

Just watch it and know a little bit more of the Dominican outside the beaches and vacations. The reality of a third world country.

Netflix Got this one a bit better
18 August 2017
Well the story portraits 7 siblings trying to live at an overpopulated world. Each one of them a day of the week.

I haven't read the book and the story is not so distant. At first seems kind of boring but then gets quite intense and thrilling. The final is not what you'd expect.

Maybe the story is not so accurate with real problems, but come on! it's Sci-Fi, not a documentary. The acting is wonderful, if Oscars were not preconfigured to drama, Noomi Rapace at least would be nominated. She portraits seven different personalities, seven different aspects, virtually seven different personas in one set. Which even though has some slight flaws is quite an acting showcase. And that needs to be applauded. (Trust me she did better than Legend, the Tom Hardy one with the twins).

Directors, editors and photography did a great job mixing one person into seven, again, had some flaws but was good work and needs to be applauded.

Supporting actors were not that great, excluding Marwan Kenzari who did a good job. Is not a must watch either a blockbuster for the summer, but it will be a story that you may enjoy any given day.

The Defenders (2017)

MUST WATCH! – The Avengers of series
18 August 2017
Marvel is taking everything to themselves and The defenders is no less than that.

They orchestrated perfectly since season 1 of Daredevil how all could lead to what we see on Defenders. Easter eggs everywhere and common denominators on each of the four series.

Is intense from beginning to end; at first looks like you can't understand very well what's going on, but the HAND starts to be more understandable and on the going on of the show you can start to see it's origin and all the characters involved to deal with it, and the most exciting how all the dots connects one to another. I am sure you will find lots of surprises on every chapter. And lots of answers.

Netflix made just eight episodes for this one, and there is no wait on any of them. Just as Marvel always does.

The last episode is really surprising, but the most surprising is the last scene (I wish they had after credits like the movies) The next seasons of every one of those four shows is gonna be thrilling. And the second season for the Defenders is gonna be even more, because the fight for New York keeps going on.

Hope you enjoy the show.

Great story - performance and insight about life
12 August 2017
The first chapter got me. The others made me fell in love with the whole characters. Is about this complete family life with a kid whom has autism and how the experience of him in puberty, but the impact it creates on the whole family too.

Is really charming, lovable, sweet, intense and, most of all, deep and inner.

Keir Gilchrist (Sam), has the ability to perform exquisite his character, he is really promising. Plus the writers made an excellent development on the character. He is Autistic but not too much; not social, but neither too much; smart but neither too much. He keeps on the creepy exact balance that make his character unique.

The supportive sister portrait by Brigette Lundy-Paine, whom I haven't seen before on performance, is also great; she is this defensive strong girl whom has the soft spot: Her brother.

The whole family casting is awesome too, long time no see Michael Rappaport on such a good show. He does quite a good performance as a supporting father, he has the soft spot on the family, but also the leading male. Really good.

Is a must watch for every teen who has a friend with spectral autism, or a family or just knows someone in their school. Fully recommend it.

Congratulations

The best Da** movie I have seen on 2017
12 August 2017
The story is so well adjusted that any second counts. Since it's start to ... sorry no spoiler.

The characters are awesome, the connection and development of each one of them really thrives the emotions to its peak. The most you are gonna enjoy is the last 40 minutes. Edgar Wright really got back from the dead with this one.

The music selection to each one of the tracks is even more amazing. Thematic, emotional, intense but sweet. Each character is taken to its lower point but them taken to its higher point.

The unexpected ending is what took me to the skies. Fully recommend it to everyone even for folks whom their kids has gotten a little rebels so they understand somethings about live.

Luke Cage (2016–2018)

Excelente, hope does not happens like DareDevil
4 October 2016
Just started to watch it a couple of hours and couldn't resist to keep watching. it was awesome.

Since the first chapter to the last you will be triggered to emotion, pain, rage, excitement and love. Will not happen what you expect, but you will be expecting what happens.

Marvel and Netflix did great with the screen writing, production, actors, even though some times Luke Cage (Mike Colter), losses his emotions and you can barely see some lots in the character, you can bypass that and enjoy it.

Hope Marvel and Netflix keep up the pace on season two, because would be a waste that happens like Daredevil even though they are connected it can be taken out a lot more of these series. I am expecting season two, I'd wish would be now, but will have to wait.

A must see movie, recommended 100%.

Was an overall waste - Poor DC
7 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
As a film fan and comic sort of reader, the movie is not such a big hit. Was more marketing than reality.

I see more of the same, DC tried so hard to beat marvel that just became a copycat of avengers with dark humor. Even the trailer portrayed the first 20 minutes, more than anything, just as Avenger's Age of Ultron. Focused here.

See what I just did? wasted my first paragraph on gibberish; like these will be your first 20 minutes. After that you will have a glimpse of the so much publicized joker, but non essential to the story line. Then you will half understand the film. So much shoots, so much action... some laughs on the way. After that, awesome especial effects, some of the Squad die... Done you will go home.

The movie as a whole is not great, may have it's hype, but was like deadpool to Marvel, just funny talk, great effects and so much publicity people will stand up on the movie unhappy and not believing on trailers anymore. Enchanted as villain was not the best choice, the plot was like she was ULTRON.

It has it's good moments like the awkward romance on the joker and Harley, also the story on DeadShot, they are really good ones and connect with people.

I went with my wife and some friends, they just found it like this.It was sort of funny, i enjoy it, I laughed, but... I am not motivated to see it again; maybe if they make a sequel¨.

Come on DC, you can make more than that.

Last Episode made me cry
30 July 2016
It's one of the few series I write about, it deserves it.

The whole season makes you jump from one time-line to another, but in the same process you can see how every character's life is being understood on a past and present focus. It was really clever from the producers.

I think is one of the most to watch TV series. Also the mix of drama, action, suspense and intrigue all along. It's awesome.

Recommend it to every thriller-drama-action fan. I now you will enjoy. I don't know how would fit a second season, at least they.. sorry, no spoilers.

Is a great script, great time-line, some loopholes on the cinematography, and some actors are like not that great, but I know at the last chapter of the season you will enjoy. You will get inside and... I hope you cry as I did, because is really filled with many emotions and at the end, you will not seen it coming.

Have an awesome day!

First 20 minutes made my eyes go wet
10 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Just the values it has this history is so underrated.

Is a great movie, with an awesome new cast and some fresh blood. Might seem like same old same old football movie, but is not like that.

I've seen many football movies (Invincible, We are Marshalls, Any Given Sunday,Gridiron Gangs, remember the titans, the blind side, and some others) and this one got me, is natural, soft and with 'ok' performances, not Oscar worthy, but they're great for the movie.

I recommend it if you love movies, drama and sports is great for you to watch with your teens and show them some values about endurance, love, family and team. My favorite quote was "Football doesn't build character, it eliminates out the weak ones". That's just applicable to life and anything you pursue with your heart.

One of the most marvelous movies ever
12 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best movies of all times. Perfect timing, perfect acting and all the situations that this family confronts. Characters well developed and most of all an impeccable cinematography.

If you haven't seen it pay to much attention to every detail on the screen, there are lots of hidden messages withing it, just at the right moment the situation goes by, when I see this movie Steve Carell made excellent, even though is a comedy his performance is spectacular, this is Abigail's first movie, it was her breakthrough, with all the reasons, it was an awesome performance.

Enjoy it, congratulation to everyone involved in this film.
