Friendship can lead to happiness,to anger,to pain, loss, back to happiness again
12 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Three girls in college tired of being used and abused by men.Decide to take action.By raping one of their boyfriends at gun point while dressed in costumes.Which the rape will prove ironic by the movie's end. They get the gun from Swain's character house.Whose troubled sister (played by Thora birch) likes to play Russian Roulette with it.They basically try to find love but they don't work out the way the ladies want them too.Looking for love in all the wrong places. It's a teenage drama. With laugh, cries, lots of sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll. The ending is heartfelt, tragic, and unexpected.I guess the three ladies will have a high price to pay for their friendship.I'd recommend for fan's of Swain,Phillips and Thora.Wish she had more screen time though.

Truck Turner (1974)
10/10
"There's some pimps in their graves" Who blew those pimps away? -Truck Turner
19 March 2005
Warning: Spoilers
An excellent picture out of the blaxploitation era.I kind of took to those 70's flicks in the 80's/90's as a kid and teenager. So seeing the Mack,Superfly,Coffy,Black Belt Jones(Whose producers of that movie produced this one)Etc.....I didn't hesitate to rent it.I saw it at blockbuster and checked it out. I loved every minute of it. Isaac Hayes plays this ex football player turned bounty hunter that kicks ass and takes names with his partner Jerry(Alan Weeks-another black belt jones nod).He and his partner take on this case of catching a pimp named Gator. They kill Gator.Which makes his main Ho or Madame Dorinda(very hott mama -Nichelle Nichols )mad.So she hires a bunch of other pimps to kill Truck.Including Harvard blue played by Yaphett Kotto-A deadly ,ruthless pimp himself.Intrigued at the thought of having a percent of Gator's money and hoes. Some of the pimps agree. Will they be too much for Truck or will Truck be too much for them? This is a fast paced hip,exciting/ action/pic that's one of the best out of the blax/genre.My second fav only to Black Belt Jones.Which has a lot of actors from that movie in this one.Laughs,Bullets,Broads, and Blood.Even throws in a love story between Truck and his woman Annie(Anazette Chase)-very beautiful i might add. A convict that likes to boost merchandise. The score, soundtrack and film are excellent. It must have been cool for Isaac to star, write, and compose the music for the film.He also does that for the film Three Tough Guys. 2 thumbs up! Enjoy

The A-Team (1983–1987)
10/10
"If no one else will help.and if you can find them".Then maybe you can hire The A-Team"
5 March 2005
Let me start off by saying that this is my favorite show.It didn't start off that way though.I was only 1 1/2 years old when this show came out in 1983.So i couldn't enjoy it in it's prime and a lot of other shows of the 80's.But in the back of my mind.I always knew what the show was.Just not what it was about.I knew Mr.t played on it and a character named Murdock that's it.So 10 years later(1993)A local station here was rerunning them.So i started watching them. And when my mom would catch me staying up on school nights.I would record them and have every episode today.I definitely gonna upgrade and buy the DVD's.I got hooked and then it became my favorite show.I can quote just about every episode. It was fresh, new, and exciting to me cause i hadn't seen this before .The A-team was a group of soldiers on the run from the military for robbing the bank of Hanoi in Vietnam.Which was a top secret mission to stop the war.But nobody knew about it except a officer who was eventually killed in the war.So there goes the teams proof. They escaped from a military stockade to the Los Angeles underground.Helping the lil'man or damsel in distress fight the bad guy.

Col.John "Hannnibal" Smith-The leader, the thinker, strategist, loves the thrill of danger or The jazz as he says.A part-time actor who plays a swamp monster called"Aquamaniac".Master of disguises. He loves it when a plan comes together too.He keeps all the guys together and in line.Played by the late actor George Peppard.

(RIP) George

Lieutenant Tempelton "Faceman" Peck-Con man, ladies man.Pretty boy.Could scam anything and everybody. The team's meal ticket.Hated confrontation though. But would fight.Played by Tim Dunigan in pilot then eventually by Dirk Benedict.

Capt.H.M(Howlin' Mad)Murdock" Crazed vet who can fly anything. He's technically not on the run like the others but has to be broken out of the Va hospital to assist them on their missions. He slips in and out of reality during the course of the show.Comic Relief.Played by Dwight Schultz.

Sgt.B.A(Bad Attitude Baracus-Big tough dude who u didn't want to mess with.Loves his van.Hates to fly.So Murdock and him don't get along.Has to be drugged and knocked out to fly.Mechanical genius. If hannibal's the brain.B.A was the muscle.played by MR.T.He was the baddest dude on TV then and now to me.Lookin'mad but when he smiled or laugh it was golden. His "suckas""fools" were weekly catch phrases.

These were the central characters although Amy,Tawnia,Lynch Decker,Santana, Stockwell were added along the way. They were the main attraction. The A-team helped people for money and charity. But they weren't getting' rich at it though. They beat up the bad guys;shoot at them, blow things up.No one would hardly get shot or killed. My theory of this was"If you're already in trouble with the law for bank robbery. Why make it worse with murder'.Which they would be charged with in the very last season. The A-team would build stuff from anything and make a weapon out of it.An idea Macguver's people stole. This show was pretty original and that's what made it a big hit.Nothing' like it then or since. The 80's had great action/adv shows. The A-team is the top one in the genre. It made u laugh, cry, think,Most of all it kept your attention for an hour.I think it got a late start though. If it had of came out in the late 70's or 1980,81.It would be even more popular and memorable than it is today.Stephen J.Cannell is a genius for creating this one and several other classic shows. If u haven't seen it.U got to.It's one of the best. .Nothin' like venturing back to the 80's.

"Everybody knows what the plant is".Stands short for plantation.
5 February 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure if I got that Richard Pryor quote right, but it speaks volumes by the movie's end.Richard-Zeke .Yaphet Kotto-Smokey.Harvey Keitel-Jerry.Are three friends who work at a auto plant. They hang out together. They drink together,They laugh together. They get high together. They get down together.Party together. In the end. They will separate and divide together. They all are barely making ends meet at the plant. But for Zeke and Jerry who have families.Barely just isn't good enough. The IRS is on Zeke's back.Jerry's Daughter needs braces and he barely has enough food in the house to feed his family. The auto plant has a corrupt union that doesn't handle the employees right. So nothing get's fixed,Nothing gets done.So Richard goes to the head office to voice a complaint and while he's there he's notice's that an old man is an only guard to the safe there.Put Two and Two together. He's need money.Jerry needs money.Let's get together and rob it.So they do.But the money isn't what they thought it was going to be.Zeke notices a notebook of illegal loans that the union was involved in.Smokey being an ex-con.Says Let's Blackmail the union. But the union wants to cover their ass and make a lil' money at the same time.Insurance and the fact that the amount of money stolen from the safe keeps getting higher and higher.Every time a union spokesman speaks to the press. So this is where the three character's life's separates and divides. The union uses a lot of tactics of fear and bribery to get that notebook back. This is a great movie that i would recommend that u see.Two thumbs up.Richard Pryor is brilliant excellent. All of them were. You wouldn't notice it on film. But those three actors didn't get along very well.Having fights. So that has to be a mark of superb acting and directing.Very underrated picture.

"From here on out. "It's straight 7's for Eddie"
26 January 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This movie can be brilliant in many ways. For it's mixing of Comedy and Drama. Richard Pryor's portrayal of Vietnam vet Eddie Keller is so human,Funny, fragile, sad. But in the end.A triumph of the human spirit. He gets caught with his pants down by the enemy in Vietnam.Literally.He then is thrown in a prison camp.A friendship grows between him and a mouse then another ensues with A Pow. The viet-kong wants him to sign a document basically saying the U.S army is wrong for engaging in the war.He turns the kong general down several times.Until his POW pal Turns very ill.So in order to get his a friend a doctor he signs it and is on his way back home to the US. He discovers a whole lot has changed since being in the prison camp.He has a daughter. His wife loves somebody else. She and her new love changed the bookstore into a novelty shop and it went bankrupt. On top of all that she mentions that Eddie's mother had a Stroke and can hardly talk.Very touching scene. More bad news. He's behind in the nursing home payments and if he can't pay.She can't stay. But he's expecting back pay from the military.Or so he thought. The problem is he signed that document.Military considers it a act of treason. So he can't get his back pay. So he goes to a bar to try and come 2 a resolution and meets Toni(Margot Kidder)Very sexy as a hooker with a heart of gold in this movie. They hook up and get close. So he has to get the money up some how.So he decides to rob a couples stores and banks.Or at least tries.Until he sees these two guys with bags of money making a withdrawal out of the bank and he decides to follow them and ............. I'm telling too much. You have to watch the movie to know the rest. There are some things that aren't resolved by the movie's end.Like Eddie's relationship with his wife, daughter and the military issue.Other than that Great Movie.Great Music.Love the score and theme song.Great Performance from Richard Pryor, who puts strong emotions and movie he's made. He's a comic genius, god. The greatest in my opinion. So I would recommend u see this film for a good story,a good laugh,a good cry,and Most importantly for Richard Pryor. see Blue Collar 1978'. Another great film and performance from Daddy Rich.

A spectacular movie!!!!!-Must see
9 July 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Michael Caine is a therapist ,whose knife is stolen by one of his patients out of his desk. This patient needed his authorization in order to receive a sex change operation.*SPOILERS_It's then used to kill one of his other patients(Angie Dickenson).Which happens in a elevator(TERRIFYING,SCARY,DISTURBING)Like in the movie (PSYCHO). As i was watching,I thought he would stop after a few stabs and the fact that Angie's character was begging,But he kept on slashing away.I didn't expect her to get killed 30 minutes into it.Her death made way for another actress(Nancy Allen) who plays a call girl who just happens to be entering the elevator at the same time she is being killed. She sees the killer and picks up the murder weapon as the door closes. So her fingerprints on it-shes's a suspect. The cop on her back is no other than NYPD BLUE'S SIPOWITZ played by Dennis Franz who has played in a lot of Depalma movies. The killer finds her on subway train(A nicely directed scene )-as others in this film.Angie 's character son comes to the rescue played by (Keith Gordon) So they join forces in order to catch he or she?Well,I won't tell you what happens from there. You gotta watch to see. I watched this for the first time 3 months ago and was very much entertained. I definitely became a DePalma fan with this one.I now have 12 of his movies on DVD/VHS. It's stylish provocative,Sexy. Nancy Allen And Angie Dickenson are as sexy as can be. They label DePalma a Hitchcock rip-off,That's a compliment I would say. Depalma said on the documentary on the DVD feature of this movie. If you wanna be the best you gotta learn from the best.

2 thumbs up.5 ***** out of 5. 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A GREAT AND OVERLOOKED FILM!!!!!
9 March 2004
This is great movie for fans of (the late great) Gregory Hines or Billy Crystal.I not too big on Crystal, although Analyze this/that were funny.I like this performance more.He played a serious role, especially

when someone kidnapped somebody he loved. He and Hines cracked jokes and worked great together. It took me nearly 13 years to finally watch it,uncut, commercial free, unlike they show on TBS or TNT or any other.I have this thing about watching Movies on tv,(No Nudity,no cursing, edited scenes and commercials)You're not seeing the movie as it was intended. So even though i would glance at it for a second,I"d turn from it.I rented it at blockbuster in 99'bought Vhs in 2000.Dvd in 2002.Even though,I knew of it and saw it at various video stores.I finally got around to it. I love the title song playing in the opening sequence with the city of Chicago and it's people. It had great music all around, especially the Michael McDonald classic"Sweet Freedom". Every time i heard it on the radio I thought about the movie. It had a music video go with it, that had Hines and Crystal singing, dancing, and acting funny. I wish the Dvd had put that and a director's commentary on there along with the outtakes. It had a bunch of funny scenes -too many to name.Having to give their pants up for Julio Gonzalez(Jimmy Smits)and the jokes that followed.Or when they're hanging upside down in a trash compactor arguing about $10 dollars-.I love the scene where Hines and Crystal get held up,but the criminals bolted in their car ,and i looked as if they got away, but the truck forced them drive back into Hines and Crystal. The smile those two give each other are priceless. When a kid at a house of a lady they're questioning keeps giving Hines the bird. The lady shuts her door.Hines knocks, the kid answers and Hines gives him the bird Yelling "Yessssssss". Their vacation time in Florida had good scenery-motorcycles,women,fishing boat, roller skates, and the idea to retire from the cop business.Oh,yes and "Sweet Freedom"playing through it.The Chase from the airport onto train tracks was awesome. The shootout in the building, in the last scene in the movie was good. These scenes are few of many, that stand out to me.This movie had action, witty dialogue,smart,intelligent-just plain great and funny. Now Hines and Crystal took different film routes after this. Crystal -comedies,So his one and only action movie he did a great job,.It was a physical role for him too.Running, jumping, shooting. He had a seriousness about him too.Hines went onto-action,and dramas .So in that time and space ,they were wonderful . If you liked Beverly Hills Cop,Bad Boys-one similarity is Martin Lawrence and Will Smith get held up for their car ,like Hines and Crystal for their wallets. The movie worked the same formula for the genre as those.Sad it wasn't as big at the box office like them. That's probably why a sequel wasn't made.Although the chemistry was there. Commenting on it- "makes me wants to go and watch it right

now!!!!!!" I give it a 10 out of 10********* R.I.P - Gregory Hines

The movie that launched Eddie into Superstardom.
7 March 2004
I've Seen this movie over Twenty times and i know the scenes word for word.It showed that comedians could be thrown in serious roles, instead of just playing a clown or fool.It was good from start to finish. Glen Frey's song "The Heat is on" Gets you pumped up to watch the movie. And "Axel F is a great theme Song. The movie takes you on a thrill ride from the back of a truck where Murphy's hanging from, high speed chase, chewing out from Axel's boss,To his fish out of water experiences in Beverly Hills. To a Strip Club(funniest scene in movie)-my opinion. To shoot outs ,and cameos by Bronson Pinchot and Damon Wayans. It started a trend in movies too.Movies that followed this one shows that.Formula=ordinary individual, serious role or job, bullets, laughs,a touch of drama or dramatics, chase by car or on foot and over the topness. MUST SEE FOR MURPHY FANS!!!

Eddie's debut is tremendous and excellent!!!!!
7 March 2004
The only movie i associate Nick Nolte with. Not to say that he hasn't had other good roles, but this is the one i liked him versus the others. Officer: Jack Cates looking for Ganz and Billy Bear who killed a couple of police officers and are after hidden money stolen from drug dealers a couple years earlier.Which Jack Cates needs Murphy's character convict Reggie Hammond to help him. Whose money Ganz and Billy are after.

Eddie murphy is as funny as ever with his entry 30 minutes into the movie. singing"roxanne"-by Sting and the Police from his cell. They made a good team together.Trend of Buddy/Buddy flicks started after this.Funniest scene in the movie was bar scene where Murphy gets loose going off on rednecks.10 out of 10 . Argubaly, Murphy's Best performance in film.
