Amanda Peterson! Peter DeLuise! Jami Gertz! AMANDA PETERSON! Wow man.

This is a kick down memory lane. Amanda Peterson, afflicted with "The

Limp": "No - YOU be careful. I'M fine. I'll walk again - normally -

someday. And I'll ride a horse again. And maybe I'll even, dance, again

someday. So don't you or any of the rest of you here - feel sorry for

me, because I won't f**king stand for it." (massive applause from

debating audience).

Can you feel it? CAN YOU FEEL IT? Leave your cynicism at the door and

let this movie wash over you like warm bath water. I don't know what

else to say.

Yikes, The Final Goal - this was the very first movie I ever PA'd on - back in first year film school. My crowning moment was when I had to go get Mr. Estrada a Sprite (and I didn't spill it on him). And now - where did all the time go? Haven't even seen this movie yet, but I have fond memories of working 18 hour days, wrapping joy cable and lugging sandbags. And now that I've made my first feature, I can honestly say - MAKING MOVIES (even bad ones) IS HARDER THAN YOU EVER THINK.

Just saw "Security" at the San Jose film festival, and it's a great comedic film, full of flat-out laughs, subtle touches and terrific performances. Brien and his team have constructed an improv dream (or, for the 2 hapless heros, an endless nightmare). Birthday sequence a stellar kneeslappin' scene, as well as a two minute static shot of Orr and Kearin on the job, capturing the monotony of the night shift. Stephen Kearin is a standout in a fab cast. Shot on 35mm, these guys deserve a film print and to get it out to theatres. San Fran is lucky to have Burroughs and his crew bringing the funny to the west coast.

GO SEE THIS

Had the pleasure of meeting many talented directors and filmmakers out

at the Victoria film fest 2004 (best fest ever), and I have to say to

the world, this 23-year-old-kid is the Real Deal.

I've been in film for many years and I was just blown away by his

feature debut from a creative, technical and poetic point of view.

American Beauty meets After Hours with loads of unexpected thrills

(let's just say I'll never play roulette again) and grace (especially

between the 2 leads). Go out and find this movie and watch it. If you're

a studio head out there - give this guy a deal. Good stuff Gavin.
