First of all, I'm 40 years old, and grew up loving the original show, toys and comics. It all stopped when they made The New Adventures of He-Man. I liked the 2002. Reboot, but mostly in nostalgic reasons. It didn't had the whole original atmosphere in it to bring new kids to like it. Beside the visual style, everything was wrong with Kevin Smit's version. I have 6 year old kid that couldn't manage to watch even the first episode of MOTU: Revelation.

This show is my kids new favourite one. I personaly at first had isues with the new cyber punk style, but the writing was great and they mostly made hits with reimagining the characters. The comic elements were on spot, at least for the younger audience.

Most important thing is that this reboot is the most likable for kids of all last 3 combined. For shows like this target audience should be 5 to 10 years old, because this is the only way to keep the franchise alive. The ones that complain are mostly the guys my age, from which most of them stopped watching cartoons decades ago.

From all 80's shows that were made after toy collections, that are still alive with new kids watching and toys and merchendise still selling, only Transformers and TMNT are left, because they always reimagined them for the new generation of kids.

I hope this reboot will save the franchise, and I'm sorry that kids can't vote on this page, because the average vote would be much higher.

As a guy who grew up on Asterix comics, and I'm still buying new editions for my kid, I can say that quality of episodes declined with couple of last Uderso's episodes. New team has made last 3 novels, and they had their hits and misses, but it was good for the future of Asterix that new ideas came in. It was the same with this movie. Completely new story, romans are not the main oponents, and the story is more about druid Panoramix (Getafix), than Asterix and Obelix. It was a risk, but in my opinion it payed off. The whole story was fun, with beautiful animation, and lots of stuff that even grown-ups can laugh to. I felt as happy as when I was as a kid watching my first Asterix animated movie. We also got the origin story of one of the most loved characters - druid Panoramix. Very good addition to Asterix collection. A must watch for every true fan - young or old.

I watched this flick mostly because Natalie Dormer played the lead chatacter, and was involved in making the script. It had some ponential, but lot of twists that were not in line with the whole movie, made this movie to be almost laughable. So many plot holes regarding her bindnes, and totaly unexplained reasons for the main antagonist, why would he be such a master villain, was to much for me. Everyting from the score, acting, and the script in this flick were poorly performed.

It's quite difficult to review this movie fairly. It has a great story. The book itself was a bestseller. All of the 3 directors gave it their own touch. The whole point is also well put - no man/woman is to "small" to make the difference. It sounds like a cliché, but the story is told in an unique way. The makeup is something that also makes this movie great. Most of the actors play several different characters, and the transformation is unbelievable. All actors (especially Tom Hanks and Jim Broadbent) did their best in this one. One of the problems with this movie would be low pace. Story goes from one era to another in every couple of minutes, but still it is not so confusing. Yet it is quite slow when you put it all together. For a movie that is 3 hour long and has such a complex story it is exhausting to keep full concentration. I watched it in a full theatre, and after second hour you could hear some people snoring. At the end everyone left their seats and nobody said a single word. I never saw such an reaction (or lack of it) from audience. Some were probably thinking about the point, but most of them were glad it was finally over. All together the movie is worth watching, but I recommend - during afternoon projections.
