Alone (2020)
Alone and should be forgotten
This was good for the first 10 minutes and then it deteriorated to a point of being irritatingly bad.
There were too many ridiculous situations.
The people who rate this as good are truly alone.
The Hunt (2020)
All films of this nature but some are more equal than others
Really enjoyable dark comedy action film. The story may not be so original but it had a good script and fast pace along with great acting. Thoroughly recommend you giving this one a shot.
Old (2021)
M Night is getting too old for this now
An ok story but the poor acting, poor directing just made this such a bad film.
It really is not worth the time which is such a shame as M Night has made some good ones in the past.
The Whole Truth (2021)
A whole lot of rubbish
The inveterate camerawork and acting made me irascible.
The basic story had potential but the agony of how it was acted and directed was, to tell the truth, awful.
I onde dager (2021)
What a trip!
Think a Coen Brothers film crossed with an adult Home Alone and this is The Trip. It's a good fun ride with a great script and acting. The flash backs work well and enhance a lot of the humour.
Thoroughly recommended.
Shaonian de ni (2019)
Bully for you China!
China has come out with a well deserved International Film Oscar contender. The film explores bullying at a number of angles from school to authorities to national. It is crafted very well giving you enough image and atmosphere to make you know whose side you are comfortable to be on.
Colectiv (2019)
Literally opens up a can of worms
A thought provoking and well presented documentary that opens up an infected wound that goes way beyond a Bucharest fire.
Very cleverly edited which should well have been in the Editor category of the 2021 Oscars.
No fake news here!
Druk (2020)
Definitely worth one for the road
A well crafted film which is full of great shots and spirit. It makes you feel you have had a great night out without the hangover. Well directed and great acting. It's a corker!
The Midnight Sky (2020)
A thin story stretched out as far as the moon and back
A painfully drawn out film which continues on and on without the drama of even a crash landing. The only thing salvageable about it is the music score.
A good film to watch at midnight as a cure for insomniacs
The Glass House (2001)
Shatteringly Bad
A plot you can see right through and watching it was so paneful !
Dark Light (2019)
No light or dark...just dim
An extremely poor film. An overdone plot and story put together by poor directing and acting.
Stay away from this light!
The Humanity Bureau (2017)
A Crime Against Humanity
Such a poorly acted, produced, directed film.
Such a come down for Nic Cage
Such a crime against humanity
Jusqu'au déclin (2020)
A credible film
What I liked about this is the credible story without cliches. The pace of the film matches well with the decline of the characters. Recommended
Eksiteu (2019)
A Korean film that climbs new heights
I agree that the initial 15 minutes is average and foggy but the plot and main characters grow well. It develops into a very good action film that is definitely worth viewing
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Left me for dead
This had some good ideas in it with some major actors to help give it life. Unfortunately it just faded away and left me for dead
Joker (2019)
What side do you belong to?
Joker is a tremendously clever film.
When watching it you are torn as to whether you are on or off the Joker's side. A soul twisted by his upbringing and environment and yet a sickeningly twisted soul.
The whole dilemma is brilliantly crafted by using The Glitter Band for Joker's dance scene. I personally was torn between the controversy of using such song and yet loving how well it worked.
I think Todd Phillips is the true Joker in this.
T-34 (2018)
Fury Meets the Great Escape
An enjoyable film that will blast your views of Russian films and give you a Hollywood style escape from reality
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
This 3rd outing for John Wick is shatteringly incredible
A brilliant continuation of the story. Loved the plot, cinematography, intense mood and the passion of control. Truly excellent
Triple Frontier (2019)
Triple thumbs Up
A very good heist film with a great plot. Well acted with no obvious cliches.
El bar (2017)
A refreshing film that raises the bar
Very good story. Excellent script. Well casted and acted. Great direction. Really enjoyed this film adding a clever direction to an up til now over played theme. Thoroughly recommended
Cold Pursuit (2019)
Hard to plough through and leaving you very cold
Such a poor disappointing film. It was full of clichés, a very boring script and a story that went on like a bad winter. More like a slush film!
Skyscraper (2018)
Takes Average to a New Height
A very average film that would have just about passed as a late 70s disaster movie. No surprises and as artificial as Dwayne's leg!
One Missed Call (2008)
One to be missed
A tired story with poor acting. Definitely one to be missed!
The Death of Stalin (2017)
A Red on Black Comedy
The film grew on me once I realized what was going on. Very strong performances. Loved the fact that each actor kept and exaggerated their western accents and the traitors had the Russian accents.
Favourite line was 'Jesus Christ it's the bishops!'
The Bad Batch (2016)
Undigestable
Really hoped this was going to go somewhere but it didn't. It got stuck in a desert of nothing
