This film works at all levels and is excellent. The writing is superb, believable, entertaining. All of the actors do a believable job. The directing, with great transitions and 'cross-scenes' for lack of the correct film term, is also excellent. The scenery is beautiful and adds to the story like a character or characters depending on whether it's a beach scene or a city street scene. This film definitely deserves 10 stars if one is to be fair & unbiased. If this were a different type of film, done by different people in Hollywood it would be considered one of the great films. I would recommend this film to others. It manages to entertain without the sex and extreme violence of many modern films. If you are a fan of Andy Garcia you will definitely love this film. I have purchased it for my media library to watch over again.

This is an excellent film with a great message. The screenplay was written very well. I found the acting to be very believable. The directing was also done very well. I don't know why anyone would give it a low vote. This is the type of film young (even old) folks need to see. I also found it to be very inspirational. It manages to be realistic without the sex, foul language and extreme violence. This is an excellent family movie. I think this should be showed in schools. Okay, that's all I have to say. It really doesn't take ten lines. It's a great film. Rent it, buy it, watch it! I do believe I will purchase this for my media library and show it to my niece. I give it 15 stars.

I found this series very entertaining. It's nice to see a show about Native Americans where they portray the lead characters and not simply backdrops. They're not simply stereotypes of Native Americans either. The writing is very true-to-life. The language is a bit rough swearing-wise, but that's the way a lot of people talk, even non-Natives. The acting is totally believable. The directing is excellent. It's kind of like a Native American soap opera, but much less melodramatic. The story lines are very interesting to follow. It would be nice to get this here in the States. It definitely deserves more stars.

This is a great film. Afterall it is just a film. The dancing is great, especially the Latin dance. The storyline is good. The acting and directing are good. The locations good. I'm not sure what people are expecting from a dance film, but then again a lot of people are so negative they find fault with everything. I found this film to be thoroughly entertaining and have watched it three times in the past week. I find it inspirational. The skill level of the dancers, esp, Latin dancers is phenomenal. If you're not a negative person who likes to find fault with everything and you appreciate different art forms and aren't prejudiced, I believe you will find this very entertaining.

This is not a Hollywood sugary film with the concocted great ending where everyone lives happily ever after. It is more realistic & about a world where most people die without having lived their dreams. You must watch the video clip at the end. It's a very sad story, but done very well. The acting was great, the directing, & writing. I like that the director didn't have these explicit sex & violence scenes like they do in Hollywood because it's a story about people. I will purchase the film for my media library. I feel that everyone should see films like this to help them appreciate what they have, opportunities, etc. Perhaps it will move them to help the people who are born into these conditions. A lot of children do not have the option of attending free basic elementary & middle school education like we do here in the U.S. A lot of them do not have access to jobs.

This is a great film. It's true to life about what people have to do just to get into America to build a life for themselves and their family. The acting, directing, writing are all great. Cinamatically it's great too. I watched it more than once and will watch it again. I highly recommend this film. Granted it does not have the most happy ending. That's because it is a realistic film not a fantasy film. Gustavo Sanchez Parra (Amores Perros)does a very believable job in leading this cast of actors who are probably unknown to most American movie-goers. His work in this film made me very interested in seeking out and watching his other films. This is a great film to show preteens and teenagers for them to see what some people have to go through to attain the basic things many of us take for granted here in America. It really got me interested in studying the subject more.
