Airplane! (1980)
The best pure comedy ever made
The plot of this movie is brilliant. Crew of the airplane get sick and stewardess has to land the plane. But that's not the thing, it's the marvelous jokes! The quantity makes it, not the quality!
I have never laughed so much when watching film as I laughed with this picture. And movies always make you laugh more in the theaters than in home.
Especially funny is the auto-pilot Otto who starts to live his own life when the auto-pilot was switched off. Leslie Nielsen used to be one of the funniest guys in movie business until he made Spy Hard and 2001: Space Travesty.
And all you uncivilized who haven't seen this comedy classic: Watch it!
American History X (1998)
Brilliant acting by Norton
Though I saw this movie four years ago I can still feel Edward Norton's powerful role. He is one of most talented and versatile actors nowadays.
The plot of this movie is a kind of way basic plot, it doesn't contain enormous surprises expect the conclusion... as I remember.
Hollywood happy end films should take advice from this picture how to create truly touching ending. I think the ending of this pic is one of the greatest ever with La Vita Bella's ending.
If you were interested about the theme of the movie I honestly recommend to watch Louis Theroux's special. He was visiting and interviewing American neo-Nazis and that was sick!
Paha maa (2005)
Different Finnish film
Paha maa is different Finnish film. But the things which makes it different are copied abroad. Some techniques of narration are from Amores Perros, Jackie Brown and Elephant. Scenes are shot from different angles again. Paha maa is a good movie, but it isn't so good that the hype tolds: "Realistic movie, no happy end, and no commercial admissions." Some actors did great job. Sulevi Peltola was so good as a vacuum cleaner peddler. Also Jasper Pääkkönen shows his skills. But Mikko Leppilampi was so lame. He is so overrated actor, he's handsome and a nice guy, but not the best actor of Finland. But if you like Finnish movies, Paha maa is worth to see.
