Velvet (2013)
Jar-Jar Binks
I just started watching season 2 of Velvet, which I really like, but something about the character, Pedro has been rubbing me the wrong way in EVERY scene he's in from the first episode That's polite for "I loathe him". Then, it finally hit me why that is. He's the Jar-Jar Binks of Velvet!
I blame this on the writers. Who the #%!* decided that they were going to making him not just annoying, but rather sadistically annoying? I want names.
He makes Rita - another nightmare of similar ilk - look like she's heavily sedated at times.
Well, I would've given the show a 10 if it weren't for them.
This is the way.

If Anyone Can Make a 4-Star Show a 2-Star Show, It's Lucy Hale
I don't know who I loathed more, Lucy Hale or Lucy Hale's character. The line became blurred. Her character sounded like a bitter and vengeful teenager hellbent on catching the boyfriend who dumped smoking pot on school grounds so she can run to the Principal and get him suspended - rather than trying to catch a serial killer. The show itself was written so poorly; the dialogue so juvenile and the behavior of these police officers so laughably unprofessional, that, if I'm being fair, Lucy was merely the icing on this absolutely sh***y, stale piece of cake. I only watched it to the end to see if Hale's character would (fingers crossed) become another acid victim of the serial killer's. I should deduct another star for failing us on that level as well.

Alex Monner's Performance As Carlos Ruined This Show For Me
I say this as a gay man... It's one thing to be a flamboyant, feminine gay guy, but Alex plays Carlos like a spastic Quasimodo. He is so over-the-top with his attempts to accentuate the gay, he comes off like the Elephant Man, twisting and contorting his body as if being gay is a physical deformity. How the director & producers of this show let his performance stand as they have, is beyond my compression. I'm sure most people thought it was hysterical, but it was degrading & insulting, at least as far as I'm concerned. A solid performance by a competent actor, and I would've given this show an 7. And no, I'm not lightening up.

The Writers Should Have Watched Spain's "Elite"
I never watched the original, so I have no bones to pick regarding comparisons to this incarnation. But this is HBO, not the CW. Did any writer or producer think to watch a show like, "Elite"," on Netflix? Clearly, that was rhetorical.
Dr. Death (2021)
Enraging. Sickening. Addictive.
If you've ever wondered what it feels like to have multiple aneurysms over the course of several episodes of a television show, watch Dr. Death. This show is trying to kill me.
So Far: "Loki" (2020)
Owen Wilson?
That just ruined Loki for me. The only acting he's mildly descent at is in comedic roles, which makes his appearance in this show even worse. I don't want a comedy version of Loki. Loki is sarcastically funny. That's more than enough. It works. I also don't get the 6 episodes thing. That's not a tv show. That's a very long movie. That's barely enough time to get to know all the other characters. Ugh.
Game of Thrones (2011)
Rating Lowered From 10 to 7
Viewers deserved better than what the writers and producers gave them during the latter half of season 7, but much more so throughout season 8. The final season was rushed, as if the writers wanted to get this show over and done with while the finale was insultingly ridiculous.
One main character's descent into madness in less than 2 episodes - having been perfectly sane for the preceding 70+ episodes - was comical, and clearly rushed. The writers had to know this was the direction the show was going long before those 2 episodes. They could have, and should have shown her descent into madness starting towards the end of season 7.
But that finale? Neither of the 2 "good" lead characters got to personally kill the two of you know who "evil" characters?! Neither got to make them suffer?! They just get to die by ________ and that's that?!
Screw you, writers.
I've never seen a more anticlimactic ending for characters that loyal viewers deserved, no, were owed to at least witness them die as painfully and torturously as all their monstrous acts over 8 seasons combined.
I can't even begin to address who ended up on the thrown. I have no words.
