Stroker and Hoop (2004)
Not a new CN show, but an old Comedy Central show
this is not new adult swim material, it's an old comedy central late night show. i don't know if they still do it, but CC used to have a late night animation block, granted it was not as good as adult swim, but still had clever and original material. i don't remember when it aired, but I'm pretty sure it was early 2004, shows like "Gary and Mike", "Dilbert", and a few others. I'm sure some of the shows can be found on torrent channels, or on DVD. i personally liked the block, but i can cope as long as there's still good shows on adult swim. eventually, adult swim will probably start showing every adult cartoon out there except south park.
25th Hour (2002)
How can anyone not like this movie
This has got to be Spike Lee's best work. Edward Norton good not be any better. As the movie progresses, you really get the feeling that it is his last day of freedom. Barry Pepper should have won the Oscar for "Best Supporting Actor" for his role. Everyone was cast brilliantly. I cant find a flaw in this movie. In fact, me and a friend of mine were watching it on cable, when the cable went out, we went to the video store to buy it. This is the best film, besides lord of the rings, that came out in 2002. Edward Norton should not be overlooked in this role because of his role in Fight Club. If you haven't seen it, please do. Give me suggestions on movies you think i should see, I'm not biased.
To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
One of, if not the greatest statements on race
If any movie deserves a 10, this one is the most deserving. Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch was the most moving and brilliant performances of his career. And the statement made in this movie is one that should not be taken lightly. It shows the ignorance of people and the pain it inflicts on the innocent. I personally feel that this movie should be the #1 movie on the top 250, but thats just me. And for it to come out when it did amongst segregation in the south was a statement for change in the country. So, if u read my post and agree with me, give this movie a 10, if u haven't seen it, do, and judge for yourself. I've seen most of the movies on the top 250, but give me suggestions.
Casablanca (1942)
What is everyone's fascination with this movie?
This is quite possibly the slowest, and least interesting movie I've ever seen. I compare it to a long episode of some fifties soap opera. It has very little interesting twists in plot, and the characters are not in the least bit intriguing. Its a movie that house wives are interested in. Before u get to mad at me, i am a huge fan of classic movies, in fact, one of my favorite movies is "Touch of Evil". But that movie is 100 times better than Casablanca. I just wish that Orson Welles would get more credit than Bogart ever did. At least Welles directed his masterpieces. I'm sure that this post will anger some people, but I'm intitled to my opinion. But if you like Casablanca, and you've never seen "Citizen Kane" or "Touch of Evil" you have no idea what you've been missing
