Whiplash (2014)
A much needed lesson in life
I really liked Whiplash because I considered it to be the lesson that nowadays school and society fails to teach us. This movie (which I am convinced that tells the story of the great majority of extraordinary artists) shows us that nothing can be don without hard work, and that just being gifted is not enough. Successful people will always be the ones that are able to go through limbo just to be able to be the best version of themselves day after day. For everyone of us limbo can mean anything - our family, our school, a teacher, a friend, an illness. For a long time I have been trying to find a reason to life and as this movie depicts, I got to a conclusion that life is worth living just to find out how much farther are you able to get, and what great expectations are you able to meet day after day. Will you give in and let all the bad things get to you or will you rise up tomorrow just to glow even more than before? A great story and a great lesson for anyone who appreciates the truly important things in life!
Big Hero 6 (2014)
Great animated movie
Although it all starts with a heartbreaking story, that would make a grown-up sob, Big Hero 6 manages to spin it all around and make it a great story about almost all emotions a human being experiences through life. The best thing about this movie is that it manages to find a way to make you laugh even in strange circumstances. Baymax is one one the funniest, dearest and lovable characters ever created. Also, although it is a non-human character it manages to depict all the qualities of mankind as well as what can go wrong if "used improperly". All the experiences the group of friends are going through in order to fix the wrongs in the world, as well as the family experience (even more powerful message since it is not the perfect/standard family type) shows us that through love and determination everything can be achieved. I highly recommend this movie to both children and grown-ups.
I.T. (2016)
Could've been worse
I had high expectations from a former James Bond actor, however in this role Brosnan bored me to death. Predictable, standard, even the accent annoyed me - it just didn't belong. The feminine actors, as well as roles, as plain as it could be. Nothing extraordinary about this film, could be watched on a sad Sunday afternoon. From my side it gets only a 3 - nothing saved this movie from being a cliché and just another title that one checks off the list. The best feature of the film was the house - good taste, hi - tech - nice propaganda for Sony systems, however I would not ever bring a stranger into my house to fix my wi-fi connection and let him in the dark corners of my security system. All in all, it could have been a much worse film, however, the villain saved the movie a little bit by bringing a little bit of unexpected on a few occasions.
Broken Vows (2014)
One of the worst movies I've ever seen
I have just watched the movie and unfortunately I have no praising words to describe it.
The idea of the film could have been interesting if the actors' play would have been any good.
The leading actress does a very weak role, she doesn't really manage to express feelings or to sustain the vibe. Even from the beginning the way she is acting lacks strength or character.
Most of the film is boring and none of the actors are making any difference. The fiancee's role has been written exactly like the biggest cliché - arrogant, cocky, gullible rich guy that lives his perfect life. The bride-to-be does the spoiled brat move that no right in the head person would do - cheat her future husband just a few days before the wedding.
The best role-play is the villain's one, although the fight scenes are incredibly superficial and far-fetched.
On one hand, you are on an island where nobody else is present, at least at that moment and your husband goes inside the building to bring you a sweater (how romantic, by the way). Suddenly you hear groans, but nothing seems suspicious to you so you decide to go watch the waves.
The crazy stalker guy can resist to a fight with a grown man, however, when the damsel in distress hits him once he falls giving her the chance to set him on fire.
All in all it was a bad movie, however, the one reason I am happy I watched it till the end is the news she receives from the doctor while laying by her husband's hospital bed, waiting for the poor doll to wake up.
That should be a good lesson for everybody who thinks that having the luck of living a good life helps them cover up all the bad stuff they do.
