Zashchitniki (2017)
Great goofy fun
I really enjoyed this movie, it's more like a comic book than most of the big budget marvel movies. It's entertaining, which is all I expect from a movie like this. Bear guy rocks !
Shadow and Bone (2021)
Game of hunger ender mortal engine maze games
There is a warning of "sex, violence and language" but I think this is just to get you to watch it because "teen melodrama, angst and awkward flirting" won't pull in the audience. I think the target audience is teenage girls, all the guys are hunky/goofy/awkward, all the girls are strong/independent/I don't need no man. The plot is at a Harry Potter level. I think of you like stuff like Hunger Games you'll love this. The sets/world/sfx/costumes are good but that's about it. I'll stick with it though episode 1 really wasn't very inspiring.
American Gods (2017)
It's weird but I like it
I can see why a lot of people don't like this show and think Its "woke", any show where every character is not straight, white, western, young and Christian get branded as "woke" these days.
Krull (1983)
Great fun
A fun movie, worth watching for All the 80s UK stars, and Colwyn's ridiculously tight trousers.
Geo-Disaster (2017)
It's just awful
Disaster movies from the 70s had better special effects, the dark matter looks like a huge ball of lint from a cosmic tumble dryer. The kids are really whiny and annoying..........actually everyone is.
The Expanse (2015)
Awesome sci-fi
I love this show, its very science-heavy, the space travel and general life in space is very believable. The best actress in it is Shohreh Aghdashloo, she is just awesome.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Way too much crying
Some good ideas, some good graphics, some good characters, but crying in every episode is just so annoying, they cry when they are happy, they cry when they are sad, they cry when the meet each other, they cry when they leave. Thank the sci-fi gods for The Expanse, the antidote to this diabetes inducing sugary sob-fest
The Beastmaster (1982)
A top movie of its time and genre
I remember going to the cinema to see this when it was first released, it was awesome, the hero was heroic, the damsel was a kickass damsel, the baddies were suitably evil and the monsters really were nightmare material (the human bat-creatures were terrifying). I've watched this movie over and over since, it's a great movie to have friends over to watch while you drink, eat and have a good laugh.
Ghosts of War (2020)
Great ghost story........and then the last 20 minutes happen
There was no need for that ending, it was rolling along just fine as a regular ghost movie.
When it turned out to be a cheap version of the matrix, I groaned, when they wiped his memory as the6 sent him back in, so he had to do the whole thing again, I groaned even louder.
It's a shame.
Airplane vs. Volcano (2014)
We laughed, we cried, but mostly we laughed.
It's terrible, just terrible, but it's so good.
Remember Dean Cain, the actor who was super man, well he's in it.
Remember Robin Givens, the actress who was in........erm, that thing she was in, well she's in it too !
It's hard to say what was the best feature of this movie :
The not very special effects
The insane overacting from everyone
The totally unbelievable science
The army guys hugging each other
The "insane" guy
The annoying child
And many, many more.
I was pretty down before I watched this, now I'm laughing to myself just thinking about it.
Watch it.
