The Last Duel (2021)
Great film that can be hard to watch at times.
Amazing performances from Matt Damon, Adam Driver and especially Jodie Comer. The beginning of the film was a bit hard to follow because they kept jumping forward in time without any warning, but thankfully it got easier to follow as it went on. The film is broken up to three different points of view, and it did a great job on showing how different people viewed the same events. Due to dealing with a very sensitive subject matter (rape), there were parts of the film that were hard to watch, but to me, that means that they did their job because something like that very much should be uncomfortable to watch. This is a film that could have very easily become a film where a rape is nothing more than a plot point to ignite the feud, but thankfully, this film does not fall into that hole, as Comer's Marguerite is a completely fleshed out character and is arguably the star of the film over Damon and Driver. The actual duel itself was extremely well choreographed and amazing to watch. While it's definitely not a film for everyone, if you can handle the intense subject matter of the film, I highly recommend seeing it.
The Break with Michelle Wolf (2018)
Good, but one major problem
The show is similar to shows like Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver an The Daily Show, but there are some clear differences. Some of these differences work for her, like the use of sketches. However, there's one major difference from those shows that is definitely for the worse. And that's how informative it is. Full Frontal, Last Week Tonight and the Daily Show do intense research on the topic of their main stories so that it is informative. This show is not very informative. She talks about a topic, makes jokes about, makes her opinion on the matter clear, but does not back up that opinion with facts like other talk show hosts.
