Reviews
FBI: Hacktivist (2021)
This show is so bad that it's painful !
All these CBS crime fighting shows are so ridiculous and just copy one another.
There is no creativity. No plots. There are too many episodes in a season.
Too many worthless and boring characters. The writing is pathetic.
To top it off, the idiots writing this pointless crap are pushing their one sided political views.
No talent. No point. Not entertaining. Instead, just very VERY painful noise on television in a prime time slot.
I give this episode a 1 star only because a negative ten wasn't an option.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Terminator: Dark Fate
Although I want to say something really positive about this film, I feel it was hurt by some of the casting choices. I understand, with a reboot comes new characters/actors. However, Mackenzie Davis was painful to watch and the concept of her character was equally stupid. She was a scene killer at every turn. She had no chemistry with the other characters. Nothing about her backstory was interesting. Mackenzie Davis' acting skills are so unbelievably poor and painful.
On a positive note, the fight scenes and chase scenes were very fast, new, fresh, and exciting. The special effects and actions scenes are top notch. I love that Linda Hamilton was brought back to this series finally. Sarah Connor continues to be the ultimate female warrior.
I do hope that the Terminator Series will continue. I would like to see a version/different timeline where the real Sarah (Linda Hamilton) and real Kyle (Michael Biehn) have a happy/happier ending.
Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers (2004)
Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers
I wish I never watched this mess. The Growing Pains Movie was so much better and fun to watch. This was very badly written, and it hurt to watch. This was not funny, and it was just torture to watch. There was no plot and details from the 2000 Growing Pains movie were ignored/changed. And, even details from the series were changed in this mess of a movie. This was not the house the kids grew up in. They did not have a doggy door either. The house was sold in 1992, when they went to Washington D.C., and then they moved back into a new place in Long Island in 2000. Mike and Kate's kids are all different in this movie compared to the last one. Just an absolute mess. This mess is how we are left remembering the Seavers.
The Wonderful World of Disney: The Growing Pains Movie (2000)
Loved this reunion show
This was a very interesting plot for a reunion movie. It was a great use of all these characters, and it was so neat to see the kids all grown up.
Arrow: Docket No. 11-19-41-73 (2018)
Probably best episode of season--Docket No. 11-19-41-73 delivers!
This episode had a winning formula! This season was supposed to have a focus on family and family like theme. Well, this was the first episode that almost seemed true. This episode was filled with so many fun surprises and guest stars. And, this is the first episode this season that this fan might actually binge watch over and over.
The trial had a neat way of discussing Oliver's past publicly without being a series of flashback sequences, by bringing up Roy Harper, Lian Yu/Russia/Hong Kong, and how the Hood/Arrow/Green Arrow is all one person.
Lots of positive things in this episode--
Hoping that the stupid internal Team Arrow fights that have consumed and destroyed this season are finally over.
Team Arrow actually outsmarted Diaz on many fronts. First, "win" in a while.
Does this mean Oliver cannot be re-tried as the Green Arrow? (double jeopardy?)
Something tells me his secret will still come out this season.???
Arrow: Doppelgänger (2018)
Arrow hit the target this week with 6.15 Doppelganger
Best episode of Season 6 since the crossover!
Exciting, fantastic fight scenes, suspenseful, and fast-paced sequences along with great team interaction. This episode flew by so fast and was so fun to watch. There were some really great moments between OTA with Thea, Quentin, and even Laurel.
The limited screen time of Not Team Arrow a.k.a. Original Team Loser was such an added bonus. Since episode #9, every scene that Dinah, Curtis, and Rene have been in have made this fan angry beyond words. -literally hate them all now. Can't wait for them to be killed off. They are traitors and just worthless human beings like Evelyn. This fan actually cheered out loud when Oliver said to Dinah "You don't trust me. I don't trust you. And, I rather be shorthanded in the field." Oliver has remained so quiet throughout this childish behavior of Dinah, Curtis, and Rene. He has never lashed out at their outright stupidity and walks away. He really has taken the higher ground, and even apologized for his part in the beginning of all of it. These idiots (Dinah, Curtis, and Rene) - really are reckless and chaotic vigilantes with no true talents. They should be grateful for their short-lived participation on the true Superhero Team Arrow.
It was so fantastic to see Roy back. It would really be neat to see him back in his Arsenal suit beside Oliver, John, and Thea and possibly even Laurel if she can truly turn around and betray Diaz after all. Little worried about Roy though, it almost seemed like Diaz did get to him in the end and he made threats against Thea. He was always so loyal and so selfless. He was a true superhero and sidekick--just hoping that he always remains that way.
9.5 Rating! Would have been a 10, if Dinah and Curtis scenes were deleted.
Arrow: Collision Course (2018)
Original Team Arrow vs. Original Team Loser
The subplot this mid-season of a once great superhero team fighting itself internally might have been an interesting storyline, if there was a real main plotline this season to begin with. There is just no plot direction going on here at all.
Original Team Arrow vs. Original Team Loser
When the two teams are compared, first you have Oliver who is so strong not only in the fighting skills but in strategy and archery skills with the long history of being the Green Arrow. Diggle and Felicity are also masters in their areas as well as having a long history of working with Oliver. But, why does Original Team Loser have such thick heads?
***Rene is a loser who cannot keep Oliver's secret to save his life - on top of being the true definition of a "Wilddog", he is a lose cannon in every way (emotionally/intellectually).
***Mr. Terrific/Curtis - it is amazing the salmon ladder did not kill him, let alone last season. There are no skills that OTA does not already have themselves.
***Dinah -- well if there is any hope that Laurel could return as the only true Black Canary --then Dinah falls in the loser category too. She is so emotionally unstable and just generally unlikable this season anyway. Time to give up completely on Original Team Loser -- give them their own show on CW the Moe, Larry, Curly of the DC Comic World. Then maybe there can be focus on a true season 6 storyline. The season had strong promise at the very beginning after the Lian Yu battle, but it was derailed by focusing on the Losers. Time to get back on the track for season 6 here.
Arrow: We Fall (2018)
We fall??? or We FAIL??? Has Arrow - Jumped the Shark?
Has Arrow finally "Jumped the Shark" this season?
Thursday's episode of Arrow - 6.11 was concerning. The concern comes from wondering if Arrow has finally lost its excitement, brilliance, and the Team Arrow magic.
This is now the third episode of the season where Team Arrow is acting like first graders. In a nutshell, Rene told the teacher on Oliver. And, now half of Team Arrow (Curtis, Dinah, and Rene) has moved to the other side of the playground and has formed their own club. Seriously??? Am I really watching a show of "SUPER HEROES" acting like 6 year olds!!!???
As of fan who has been watching since early season 1 and has watched each Arrow episode thru season 5 an unhealthy amount of times, this fan is VERY, VERY concerned. Now, Arrow has had storylines and plot directions that were not always positive, fun, and enjoyable for this fan. However, somehow, the show has always recovered/rebounded into something incredible with magical Team Arrow moments.
The concern this time is that 11 episodes in to season 6 and there has not been amazing/magical team moments. There has not been great, jaw dropping Super Hero action. There has not been a truly enjoyable story plot twist. The villains all suck this season too. Black Siren---Laurel is downright painful to watch. She is just so robotic the way she does this God-awful things to Team Arrow/people in general and she always has that disgusting smile on her face like this is fun to her.
Eleven episodes in and there has not been one scene where this fan has shouted "that was awesome", which that in it self in unheard of. Please* Please* Arrow - Don't Jump the Shark!!!
Arrow: Tribute (2017)
6.2 Tribute -- Awesome New Arrow Format
Honestly, this episode had everything. This week continued to establish this season's story-line theme/plot direction with Oliver playing "dad" now and the focus on "family" this season. It was also a very enjoyable Oliver - centered episode with great scenes with the team. There was great team interaction throughout both in action scenes and just team bonding scenes! With that being said, this was the first episode without flashbacks this season, and the extra time was given to amazing/enjoyable team interaction scenes. The moments between Oliver, Quentin, and Rene were my favorite. But the scene between Agent Watson, Quentin, and Rene was so enjoyable. And, I can never get enough of Oliver and Dig discussions. This episode mentioned some great past Arrow history moments -- specifically the polygraph that Oliver took back in S1- Damaged. There was great action, great one-liners, and enjoyable character moments. 10/10 - great episode to re-watch over and over.
Arrow: Honor Thy Fathers (2017)
Honor Thy Fathers
This was a good episode, but more could have been done with an episode titled "Honor Thy Fathers" when it concerns Robert Queen and Justin Claybourne.
The episode basically fell flat for me in the opening scene, when the body in the concrete did not turn out to be that of Robert Queen. The Green Arrow was almost born the second that Robert Queen confessed his sins to Oliver, asked him to right his wrongs, then put a gun to his head to help Oliver survive. I thought this episode would finally bring public attention to that moment and reveal that Robert died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound (not from drowning --part of Oliver's cover story in the pilot episode) I really though Robert's final moments with Oliver would finally be revealed to the public. (though his friends know the truth/Star City doesn't) And, I thought the memories of this would finally snap Oliver back into the Green Arrow suit. Although it was a magical moment that Oliver finally got back into the Green Arrow suit and Team Arrow finally has a win, this just was not the masterful episode that I was hoping for/expecting.
There were great scenes between Thea and Oliver. And, then even great scenes between Oliver, Thea and Lance, but these moments were just so short and so few. Loved the mention of Roy -- really hoping that he will make an appearance at least by the end of the season! The action scenes were good. The bits of history were good concerning Robert/ Queen Consolidated. The scenes at the mayor's office have gotten so much better in recent episodes, when they involve more of Team Arrow and less politics.
8/10 good - just expected a fantastic episode based off of the description, the build up Oliver's legacy, and with it being episode 21 building up to the finale.
Arrow: Disbanded (2017)
Team Arrow Disbanded--Team Arrow Rises
The team interaction in this episode was just so enjoyable and so amazing. It was understandable that Oliver was still recovering from the brutal physical/psychological torture while being held captive by psychotic D.A. Chase for six days. As hard as it was to see Oliver so defeated at the beginning of the episode, it was very understandable that he wanted the rest of the team to stay safe and away from Chase.
Like Diggle said repeatedly to him, Chase really did get into his head and really messed with him. When Oliver actually said the words, "let my crusade die" that was like the nail in Oliver Queen/Green Arrow's coffin.
There were just so many incredible scenes between Oliver and Diggle. These two are so good together, and these characters just know each other so well. It was surprising at first that Oliver did not share with Felicity and Diggle immediately in that opening scene what had happened. It took awhile but Oliver did give some of the details about how Chase got into his head when he was talking to Diggle much later on. However, Oliver did go right back into his Lian Yu/PTSD mode from this, which connected even more to his more Season 1 like behavior by calling in the Bratva to take out Chase.
Although the interaction between Oliver and Diggle stole the show, the scene between Quentin Lance and Oliver was also incredible as Chase entered the room to see the mayor. Lance's reaction to that whole discussion was priceless. Although the fight scenes/action scenes were good and exciting, Disbanded was more about character interaction. Finally, it was a neat twist in the end after seeing episode 5x17 Kapiushon that Anatoly nearly admitted that he himself became the monster -- not Oliver. Anatoly mentioned that Oliver would have killed without thinking back in Russia, and they once again discussed what wearing the hood meant to Oliver. Anatoly said that without Oliver's help in Russia, he did not like the man that he became trying to keep the Bratva together. However, it seemed like Anatoly could even see that Oliver became a better person when coming back to his home, meeting Felicity and Diggle, and further developing the Team Arrow.
It will be interesting to see how Kovar will be reintroduced -- if it will be in present day or still in the flashbacks. This might not be the end of Anatoly and Oliver's friendship. However, it definitely took a bigger hit. This was a fantastic ending, by giving Team Arrow "a win" with at least exposing Prometheus as Adrian Chase, but still letting him escape to have his final showdown with Oliver/Team Arrow later. Final moments had a very touching scene with the new improvements made to the ArrowCave for the newbies. Team Arrow Rises!
Great Team moments in this episode. Diggle and Oliver were amazing in every scene that they shared. Season 5 has really become a masterpiece. The stand-alone episodes were all fantastic, and now this Prometheus storyline has really grown into something amazing as well. 10/10
Arrow: Second Chances (2017)
Second Chances
This episode had some really good moments. I loved every second between Talia and Oliver. It is really interesting the fascination that she has with Oliver, her connection to Yao Fei, and her knowledge of Oliver's whole journey so far. The scene at the end when Oliver got back into his original arrow costume/Yao Fei's hood with the jacket was just magical.
It was such a relief to see that the Diggle storyline has finally wrapped up and that he is now a free man. Even after Oliver helped him escape from prison, Diggle just wasn't the true Diggle. I am so looking forward to him really be back now on the team and having him smile again.
The guy road trip had some cute moments, but I would have preferred Oliver with Diggle scenes. Wild Dog and Mr. Terrific are not bad characters, but the Team Arrow scenes with them just are not magical like original team arrow scenes always were. Ragman in the field is fine, but I am not a fan of how Rory/a.k.a. Mr. Egghead talks down to everyone and makes them feel like idiots. This is the third time he has done this. Even when Felicity goes techno-talk crazy she does not talk down to the others. This is making even Rory/Ragman annoying. My big concern right now is - will Quentin Lance ever return? I would love to see his reaction to everything that has happened these past few months since he went into rehab. And, now even Thea has disappeared as well, and here it seemed like Speedy was back at least part-time. Overall, not a bad episode, but it just was not a favorite so far.
Arrow: Who Are You? (2017)
Mid-Season Premiere
After the mid-season finale was so cool, the mid-season premiere was a disappointment in comparison. A main growing concern I have this season is with the total lack of good team interaction. The new recruits have little - to no chemistry with original team arrow. It's fine that they are in the fight scenes, but is it really necessary for them to be in every ArrowCave scene? They are painful to watch, they don't have anything new/special to add to these scenes to help the storyline progress. The original characters were so well created and have such great chemistry. I feel like arrow has become more about developing these new misfits than Oliver Queen or the original cast. It was so disappointing that Laurel turned out to be Black Siren and even worse that she was not able to take on the Black Canary's Legacy. This was just heartbreaking that it was not somehow the real Laurel. I also think the Prometheus storyline needs some help too. It would be nice to see his face and understand his true motives. He is too one dimensional and becoming almost ridiculous with his Michael Dorn/Worf sounding voice. Basically, he is just stalking Oliver Queen. Prometheus is so not at the level of past super-villains, such as Malcolm Merlyn, Damian D., who had such memorable scenes with Oliver. They were fun to watch. It would be nice to see the Prometheus storyline progress a little.
Arrow: Vigilante (2016)
Vigilante 10/10
I thought this was an amazing episode. It was exciting, tense/suspenseful, and had some very emotional scenes between characters. I liked the balance between the action, the ArrowCave scenes, the Mayor's office/mayor stuff, and the flashbacks in Russia. This episode was much lighter on the "recruits" driving all the scenes-- keeping the recruits more in the backseat and just involved in the action scenes.
I am worried about the "thoughts" going on in Oliver's head about regressing back to a killing machine --returning to the mentality of the Hood when he first came back and suffering from PTSD. Oliver usually regrets going this direction--afterwards. After resorting to killing in the past, Oliver has admitted that it upsets his dual life and creates an internal struggle between being Oliver Queen and being a vigilante/superhero.
SPOILER!!! **** I am overjoyed that Evelyn/Artemis has paired up with Prometheus! Most shocking part of this episode. I was desperately looking for a reason to hate any/all the recruits. Up to this point, I have just found Artemis overly judgmental, childish, and arrogant. Now, she is also a traitor, backstabber, and enemy to all of Team Arrow. Can't wait for this arrogant, Queen B, teeny-bopper to bite the dust! I have more respect for WildDog and Mr. Terrific after this episode.
Overall, very enjoyable episode. I am looking forward to how Vigilante / Green Arrow may one day learn each others' true identities. Oliver's relationship with this Vigilante is very interesting and was built up very well in this episode. I am really looking forward to seeing how this will all play out.
