Limetown (2019)
So nearly....but not quite
Limetown was recommended to me by someone who knew I had been a fan of Wayward Pines and before that The Prisoner (both the 60's original and the 2009 revamp).
Whilst it's true, the stories are along similar sorts of line this series just didn't make the grade. The characters are two dimensional and you never get the feeling you can relate. Jessica Biel is by far the outstanding performer but it isn't nearly enough to rescue it.
Each episode bimbles along with monotony. A call/message to arrange an interview, a journey to an interview and the interview itself. I kept watching certain it would improve but it didn't. Mercifully each episode is only half hour long and there are only 10 of them.
I got the impression that the show was cancelled just before the final episode as it has the impression of being rushed into a quick conclusion to the story.
One to avoid this I'm afraid.
Zoo (2015)
Absolute Garbage
This Easter Monday, whilst chatting with family about TV shows it suddenly dawned on me that Zoo has stood out as by far the worst TV series I think I have ever seen.
A plot that is way beyond daft - written by the animals themselves it would seem.
If this were a typical level of television that humans achieved then perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad idea for the animals to wipe us out.
Might be useful to watch an episode or two just to reset your levels on just how bad television can get.
D.C. Sniper (2010)
Too Poor To Sit Through, Even If You Enjoy Bad Films
I came into this movie as I enjoyed the 2003 film "D.C. Sniper - 23 Days of Fear" and have been interested in the Sniper shootings ever since.
I disregarded the negative reviews on IMDb as I felt my interest in the subject matter meant I could sit through a below average film. Not so! This film is a turd. The Acting is so bad I wonder if it is intentional from the film makers to make it appear like school grade Drama class but I miss the point if it was.
The story line, gifted to the film maker by actual events, has been squandered and somehow it has become really boring. I got no understanding of the Criminals mentality - or the Cops chasing them for that matter. Within 15 minutes my mind was starting to wander.
Fortunately watching on the PC meant I was able to minimise the screen and web surf to keep interest up. Be warned if you are watching on a TV set as resorting to scratching your eyeballs out may be a better alternative than viewing the entire movie.
Like other reviewers I have joined IMDb just to vent about this film. It is the worst I have ever seen. If you enjoy watching bad movies, for no other reason than they are bad movies, I would suggest you watch something like the 2010 movie Titanic II instead.
