Hilarious!
20 June 2018
I just started watching this show after my daughter talked me into it. I was laughing so hard I was crying sometimes. I love the characters, they play off each other perfectly and I have no idea how the Captain keeps a straight face all the time. Some shows just have it-that chemistry, good actors, good writing. This is one of those shows. I was sad to hear they cancelled it, but hopeful now that I hear another company picked it up. All I can hope for is the same experience as the show goes on.

Fun but nothing close to original
22 June 2016
I knew to go into this film with realistic expectations. For starters, I loved the short as usual-pixar knows the right formula for these well. Piper was a perfect way to get the audience ready for the actual movie. The movie begins with the audience being introduced to Young Dory- who was very cute and it was nice to get some background on her character. Sadly though, none of the new characters seemed all that interesting. The plot was predictable and it did not hold the magic of the first one as well. Love Ellen Degeneres as always in this role, and overall it was a good movie for the summer, it will not go down as one of pixar's better movies though.

Excellent!

I first saw this movie as a young teen in the 80's. Looking back I probably watched it on Showtime or HBO, maybe even a BETA machine. I was enthralled then, and to this day every time a song from the soundtrack, especially Van Morrison's Moondance or CCR's A Bad Moon on the Rise, I think of this movie fondly. The music in this film is bar none one of the best movie soundtracks. I just watched it again with my teen aged daughters and felt the same old nostalgia I felt before. I love that it held so many aspects of a great movie; humor, love, tragedy. I remember the sadness the most though, and the intrinsic realism of good vs. evil still sits with me today.

seriously?!

I love HGTV, have been watching this channel for a long time! So long my husband makes fun of me for it. This show is so annoying!! I can't stand how zombie like both the main character are. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard, he is not much better. She is so fake, I even saw her extensions in her hair in one episode. Fake teeth, fake boobs, fake tan, valley girl, ugh! The show has nothing to sustain it in my opinion. Even when I hear the commercials for it and they have her talking, wow, super annoying. Even my husband thinks so and that is saying a lot as he does not get bothered by much. Hopefully the producers see these reviews. Oh and don't even get me started on Love it or List it.

ridiculous!

If I did not know that house hunters was staged, I might be more naive about this show, but no. This show is awful and so staged. Give me a break, Hillary always finds something the home owners have to fix that they were not aware of (not her fault by the way) but the owners (I am sure are told) get angry with her about it. Seriously stupid! As someone who has gone through a remodel and knows things come up that are unexpected and have to be fixed, it is not the contractors fault at all. They are doing their job and these owners should be on their hands and knees thanking her for finding the issue. I hope this show goes away or at least gets more realistic.

Okay, but not as good as the first
17 May 2015
I am a huge fan of the first installment. PP went above and beyond in making the audience want more. Sadly I had doubts that the sequel could live up to the first, especially when I saw the preview. It was better than I thought it would be, but definitely not able to live up to the first. My favorite part would be the riff off, they could do a movie with just this in it for two hours and the audience would love it. While it was nice to see Bumper come back, it seemed trite and unrealistic. The music also in this one is not as good as the first. Some of the jokes were trying to be funny, but just weren't. Give me more music, less silly jokes, and I am in. Not bad, not great.

Hilarious show

My family and I watched this on accident after Modern Family one evening and we found ourselves loving this show. It was very funny, we loved the rapport between the characters especially. Sure there might be some risqué topics discussed or even too silly to a degree, but to those that are taking it so seriously you need to remember it is a comedy. When you look at an old episode of Seinfeld they pushed the envelope a lot, there is nothing wrong with other sitcoms doing the same. This family shows a lot of love for each other, I could think of worse things to watch with my kids. Great job Black-ish, we will keep watching!

Overdramatic!
2 September 2013
I tried to keep watching after they showed the reruns from last season. This season is even worse. I refuse to keep watching as these knuckleheads keep making the same mistakes, so much so, I feel like the show is fake and scripted. I am so sick of them, especially George. He seems to be so full of himself, I could see him being the bully in high school as another reviewer stated. Sorry you lost a ton of money in the real estate market, but find a real job in America, not third world Ghana. They can't be in too much debt as Discovery Channel has to be paying them something to do these stupid episodes. Wanted to like the show, hoping to see them find a ton of gold have a happy ending, but I'm done with the melodrama of it all. Buh-bye.

Love it!
10 August 2013
Never heard of it, told my husband I didn't want to watch a movie with such a dumb name. But I got talked into giving it a chance. I was way wrong, this movie is hilarious, I absolutely loved the humor, the acting, the dialogue. Simon Pegg nailed his part, and I am now looking forward to the new movie from these directors coming out soon. I read a few reviewers did not like the ending, but I thought it was perfect. I am not British, but I am finding the older I get the more I am embracing British movies and TV shows. Doctor Who, Sherlock, The Full Monty, just to name a few that can compete with this movie. The writing just can't be beat for this movie, don't miss it.

Better than I expected
28 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I had serious worries after seeing the previews, honestly they were not good. But my kids wanted to see it, so I went along. It was much better than I expected. I liked the back story of Mike and Sully, Billy Crystal really makes the movie. Most of it was fairly predictable but rarely have I seen a children's movie that is not. At the end people in the audience were clapping, my only criticism is when Mike and Sully were not reinstated into the School of Scaring at the end, it would have made sense that the dean did this for them, but it all works out for them, as they go on to work for Monster's Inc. Thus making us all remember the first movie in this series, Monsters Inc. Pixar seemed to be back on track after a dud of a movie in Brave. Hopefully the Planes movie will be good as well.

Best Superman movie!
24 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, I really had my doubts for this movie. After growing up watching Christopher Reeve play Superman, I was not so sure about Cavill. But he proved me wrong for the most part. There were a few parts where it felt kind of cheesy but that was not his fault, more of a screenplay problem. I loved how they started the movie off, giving more of a background of where he came from and his real parentage. I would have given this movie a 10 except for the acting in a few parts, and the Lois Lane element. While I think Amy Adams is an excellent actress, she was not (in my opinion) the perfect choice for Lane. But at least she was better than Margot Kidder! A lot of destruction in this flick, so much I was left wondering how in the world both Smallville or Metropolis would ever be the same. A great movie for those superhero, action junkies. Great job Snyder.

Amazing movie!
15 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I love to come on IMDb and give my negative reviews. This time I am happy to write a positive one! Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence deserved their Oscar nominations from their performance in this flick. I loved the original script, the chemistry between all of the characters, the dialogue, it just plain worked. I went to the theater with some girlfriends to see it, we were laughing so hard (almost to the point of crying when the dance scene happened near the end). You want these characters to make it, to come through whatever they are dealing with, as during the film you start to relate to them, feel the empathy people should feel for others. So kudos to the director, the screenwriters, and the actors here, they did their job impeccably and even when I saw it a second time recently (had to have my husband see it), I loved it even more, which is a true test of a good film in my opinion.

Awful!
1 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I cannot imagine how this got so many high reviews! Frankly, my husband and I sat there appalled at what we were viewing. Yes, it had wonderful cinematography (the only redeeming quality), otherwise it was plain awful.

My husband was laughing at how bad it was, nothing made sense, even the end left me feeling as if I just wasted 2 hours of my life. Nicole Kidman plays an idiot, as she going off on her diatribe of why she had kids, I was yawning, and I noticed the guy a row away was sleeping. Dialogue between characters was weak, Uncle Charlie looked wide eyed and crazy the whole time, surprise, he just came out of a loony bin and has this weird fixation on his niece (which never makes sense at all).

Good luck if you want to see it, I recommend highly you do not, we went as we saw it had 7.6 on IMDb, we were upset we trusted this rating system. Next time I might try Rotten Tomatoes.

Awful movie!
16 March 2013
Even if I had never seen the original, this movie was awful! I would have walked out except I was there with friends, and they seemed to enjoy it, go figure. James Franco, who I have seen act well in the past, seems to have lost his mojo. Mila Kunis, while pretty, acted as well as her boyfriend in real life, Ashton Kutcher, ugh! When she turned green, she did not look right, it did not suit her at all, over acting at its best. Weisz and Williams saved this movie, the only time I was not wanting to yawn or sleep was when they were on screen. And don't even get me started on the side characters, a flying monkey and a porcelain doll, stupid! The dialogue between them all seemed so forced and contrived. Do not waste your money or time seeing this in the theater, wait for redbox, netflix, amazon, should not be long.

Not good
30 June 2012
I, like a lot of my female friends, was looking forward to this flick. Did I expect it to be an academy award winner, of course not. But I was very disappointed. First off, the male strippers scenes were okay, two of the strippers in particular were not even good looking, nasty in my eyes (tarzan and the kid). Secondly, the dialogue between the actors/actresses seemed so forced and fake, not a good sign. Third, the scenes with the drugs and sex were so stupid, really a pig?! I have heard it should be compared to Boogie Nights (which I have seen) not even close. Fourth, the plot was unrealistic and silly. It could have been so much better! I will not lie and tell you that Channing was not hot, his dance moves were some of the best I have seen and he obviously worked hard to make himself look the part. The Kid, was not cute at all, had a major bad attitude, hard to buy it. The sister to the kid, bad actress and not very pretty, hello I happen to know in Hollywood there are a ton of hot chicks that could have played this part a billion times better. Matthew Mc, don't even get me started, he got on my nerves so bad. I happen to be from TX, and I do not have his stupid overdone drawl! And when he finally dances at the end, he looks so egotistical and narcissistic. At least the other dancers seemed to want to dance for the ladies. A passer upper.

Just okay
22 June 2012
I am so sad to write that this film did not live up to my expectations. The graphics were the only thing that I enjoyed. The plot dragged, was so slow at times, with no real character development. I kept wondering where they were going with it. What happened, I am not sure, but I wonder why this movie took 4 years to make, graphic wise maybe, but they let the story slip through. It reminded me of Brother Bear, which was better in my opinion. My kids liked it, but they like any movie that is made for kids, so that is not saying a whole lot. At the end of the move there were people clapping in the theater, so obviously i am somewhat alone in my opinion here. The humor was not typical Pixar as well, almost like they were trying too hard to find it. I will not be recommending this movie, but from what I have seen from the reviews people will like it anyhow.
