I wasted some time watching the poorer remakes but thankful this.now available on enhanced pbs. It is terrific as many reviewers write in detail I will not repeat. T is the best T. The Belgian supporting actors also are very good. There is a lot of suspense in many episodes. Ouch I have to say more...dislike the characters min amount for reviews such length not always necessary. To go on as required this is great for crime thriller drama lovers and comedy is listed I would say humor for some chat yet interactions; do it come here looking for comedy; sometimes the characters quirks are the subject of non insulting humor.

Though an important story, left mid first part. Too long. Beginning good but getting into police part and investigation know outcome and details became uninteresting.!that parents and society let this happen to their young daughters where was the expected supervision. It is very difficult also because the bad guys are Pakistanis and the victims are White British so it has to get around ant racism implication. I stopped watching at point police finally got involved because then all that should have happened with just e years before, happened. Worth watching but not enough for me to go back. That it is a true story is simply a horror if a Justice system that lacks Justice and when years later they come back without sufficient apologies to the girls ...I did not stay to watch the self righteous.

Into 20 minutes.of episode 2. Prefacing this I dislike the lead actor but muddled through two seasons. Not sure I can stay with th third. Lots of shooting but no real tension and uncertain story line. It is boring for an action film. Deciding whether to watch further wasting my time or quit now. Have to write more for I'm done. The story about something Americans don't like. Russians think Americans behind subsequent murders. Two American agencies at odds with each other. More senseless inexplicable murders. Scientists and science projects involved. Secret bomb building by whom? The whole thing is a mess to watch and badly acted by most except Wendell Pierce. Someone has to explain why the guy who plays Jack Ryan was hired. He is wrong for the role. No here's stature in him. The rest of the cast except Wendell is second or third rate.

I should listen to other reviews and quit before season 4 of this otherwise great crime show. I miss the other head of police and the season 4 one is just a little girl carrying no authority who should not have been cast. Nonetheless I am going to try and muddle through the season. The stories are still suspenseful whodunits. It was a find to get this show overall because the stories are interesting some unique and I liked all the characters until this new police chief - she is an incompetent young girl not deserving of her excellent woman predecessor characters chair. Unlike others, I like the main character. I do recommend this to those who check reviews before watching.

Tried a third time but leaving mid episode 2. It is soooooo boring. I like dark and crime but this does not hack it. Why watch it? Do not! Characters don't act. Terrible script. Went back 3x but couldn't stick to it. Will leave for good. Glad to see other negative reviews.

Bleak boring uninteresting bad. What is the point. Acting bad. Story missing. Not watchable. Someone is missing but cannot stick to find out. Find something else to while away your time. Disagree with rating. Shame to have to use so many words for something so bad . Find something else to watch. Leave this bad show for something else.

Tried hard to watch but leavin mid episode 2 of season one. It isi so slow =. Boring. Nothing moves including the actors. The scenery does not save it. Cattle gets stolen and no follow up after it's found. Good guys and bad guys and lawyers all cliches. Not sure I'll miss anything but may do some fast forwarding but this show is a real waste of time. I like Australia shows but not this one. Why make audience sit thru going nowhere predictable conversations. Lawyers bad. Characters have no flesh. I wasted a lot of time to get here and decide to leave. Unlikely to miss anything. Find something else to watch.

Agree with all the ones. Watch Nobody if you want great action. I am 26 minutes in to this trash and came to reviews and found many others reacting like me. I've watched everything I think is good on Netflix and now feel free to leave, since other streamers offer more and better. No redemption for Netflix with this junk.

I had lots to do while watching so stayed to end. This is one of the worst movies ever made. The fight scenes look like practice with the instructor telling what to do. The story is boring and trite. I cannot say a good thing, really a zero - bad acting, what could have been good scenery is absent, the speech talking is stupid and superfluous. No redeeming value. Even those labeled good or gray actors are terrible in this. I am going to see if there is anything on Netflix I still want to watch. If Netflix wants to redeem its streaming and regain customers it has to do something else and move 360 degrees away from this failed attempt. 24 reviewer on this first night have given a 1 and I agree with all of them. Bad acting, bad action bad cinematography EVERYTHING BAD. I wasted my time; do not waste yours.

Liked it fast action fast warching but most of all great music score and performances I after the end captured in my music. I am not the only one - the score of songs and one classical piec is on line so can get it into a music app at leisure and not leave the movie credits up. Very well done action movie. I am female so this one is not just for guys. I do not condone guns and violence in real life. It is so fictional here I hope it does not inspir real life gun violence whic I abhor.

Surprised. At so many negative that brought the rating down. Magnificent setting in Italy. Watched in one sitting with passport. Acting good, story lines good, post WW 1 in Italy believable including scary rise of Mussolini, imperfect people and some treacherous human cruelty midst love and kindness, loved it. See no reason to compare it to Downtown Abbey.

Sensed it would be bad and checked here. Thx. Feel justified I not watching. It bored me from the start and did not get better. Glad did not waste more time.

Leaving waste of time less than half way in regret time spent. Not worth saying much more. Good cast is wooden. Plot holds no excitement.

Impossible to follow this jumble fb mess. Characters not clear. Subplots all over the place. Dark filminghatd to view. Time waster. Stated at beginning and into 5 but cannot tell characters or what going on.

Do not be put off by the low IMDb rating. This was worth a binge. If you like crime drama with the good the bad and the ugly this has it all. The lush setting takes you into the grime and plenty of murder and mayhem and love and sensibility.

This is bad so miscast so dreary. Please someone tell why go beyond my 13 minutes. I have seen all Batman movies but this adds nothing. I wondered why Pattinson was cast and first sight of him out of mask continued my wonder. I would not mind more of Jeffrey Wright but it worth wading through its terrible show.

Cheaply made background too dark and lacking drama despite excellent cast. Not worth more words. Have to say more: no dramatic effect painfully boring potential in story wasted.

Leaving after episode 2. Boring and goes nowhere. Trite. Alleged rich people spoiled kids with drugs Mean people. So what's new. Nothing and badly done.

I read the other 1 rated reviews and agree with the rating. Do not think this awful show decided after two episodes is worth detail but glad others gave it. I have watched all prior Masterpiece and Austen and this is just a boring rehash of better shows. Quitting after second episode. Unbearable.

I agree with all reviewers who were negative. This is the first British show I could not watch with any pleasure. I could not believe my distaste for episode 1 it was so stilted. After coming here I skipped to the last episode still stilted. A potentially good soap opera story was not saved given the bad acting, the totally disconnected characters just one of the worst tv I have seen. The dramas of the characters involved in horrendous doings did not touch me. I could not figure out the title but the show is a bad beast. Recommend not to waste the almost two hours I spent on the first and last epusides and I missed nothing in between. This is drivel.

Like the horse and ranch background but this us a story about changing norms and values difficult for families to accept. There are also just plain bad people and good people. There are good female roles in what would otherwise be a man's world. Recommend this and glad I found it years late.

Really keeps you watching worth a binge as I did. Mystery fantasy good and evil and in between. Excellent performances by all cast. Effects are superb. Looking forward to season 2.

Why some like this is beyond me. 28 minutes in with lots of halts cannot bear it further. Why pay Netflix for something made in someone's basement. No mystery or horror element worth waiting for. Wish could ggive a zero and annoyed at waste of my time. The person who doesn't like the lead, I disagree. I'd take hom over the whiny girl any day and btw I am a girl.

The ending is violent and tragic shows he is true evil. I will not spoil it but advise ignoring those reviews and if you have the stomach for a sad and tragic spiked with evil story this is a great film and Jennifer Lawrence as always is great.

Doe too much time on why a 7.5 rating but glad to see a lot of other 1 ratings. An important topic treated badly. Watching more than one second impossible. Don't ask why. Don't give it a chance. The 1-4 ratings should have bright it below 7.5. Not all treatment of a topic that deserves attention should be good. This is terrible.

I left the show with no desire to return after @ 15 minutes. It is stupid and ugly. Shame on HBO, do not waste your time. I did not expect it to be like the past Perry Mason thanks to the first review but it is just bad.

I will keep watching a while for the mystery but Dicte the journalist is too horrible with no redeeming value as an actor, the script makes her so nasty it is hard to take the shoe, I came back to this forgetting I had watched. I started at episode 7. The topics hold some interest and I will see how this develops. So far the inner inhumane character of the journalist lead puts me off. Some story lines of interest. Other reviewers have watched on netflix. The entire show is on MHZ choice.
