Give it a chance
22 August 2022
As usual, this show is not nearly as bad as the 1 star raters say nor as "amazing" as the 10 star folks say it is. I read the book on which this was based, as I had read Martin's original Song of Ice And Fire a many years before HBO made it into a series. Very similar in the way they are laying groundwork and cut to the chase and streamlined many characters and houses so that it's easier to follow. This was a good first episode they can build on. Give it a shot and see how it plays out. So far, so good.

Great crime drama
5 March 2022
This is not a superhero movie. This is not a CGI extravaganza with aliens and space ships. This is a dark, crime solving drama that moves along at a slower pace with character development and a plot, with good intermittent action scenes. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Not sure if most kids or pre teens will enjoy this. Did notice a few younger kids in the audience getting "antsy" and being shushed by parents (although the parents seemed to be engrossed). Very well acted- hope this is not a "one off." They lay the groundwork for future installments that I will eagerly await.

So disappointing
27 December 2020
Wow, where to begin? This movie was so bad, it may be the final nail in the coffin of the already struggling DC movie franchise. The plot and screenplay were pathetic, as were the hammy overacting and special effects. The scenes with WW slingshotting herself with the magic lasso were so hokey and visually disappointing, it looked like a cable network B movie. I sat there for 2+ hours waiting for this to get interesting. What a shame- really enjoyed the first WW movie as well as Justice League. This was a huge step backward.

Great 70's schlock

I was terrified by this TV movie as a kid. It is a classic B movie horror effort that fits in with the others of its genre, like Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, and Trilogy of Terror. By today's standards it is absolutely ridiculous, with cheesy costumes on par with the Sleestaks from Land of the Lost. But this movie will always bring back fun memories of scary stuff from my childhood. It os worth a watch, and I always DVR it whenever I can find it on some obscure cable channel.

What am I missing?
27 July 2019
Just sat through almost 3 hours of this meandering film. Sorry, just don't get it. I think this was arguably QT's worst and most boring film to date. The first 2 hours bored me to death to get to the payoff in the last 30. Missing were the clever dialogue and uncomfortable moments QT is famous for. There were some walk-outs in the audience halfway through. No clapping at the end, no happy chatter amongst the remaining crowd on the way out. Plenty of grumbling with quite a few people using the word "crap" on their way to their cars.

Better than critics are saying
9 June 2019
This latest installment of X Men is as some have said "a little lacking." But I don't understand the extremely low marks this is getting from the critics. There is plenty of action, a decent plot, and good special effects. Plain and simple- a summer popcorn flick. If you are a fan of the series, go ahead and see it- you'll enjoy it. And despite what others have said, Sophie Turner IS leading actor material and does a great job as Jean Gray/ Dark Phoenix.

Went off the rails
13 April 2019
This was a decent remake of a movie that really creeped me out when I was younger. It started out strong, and there were a few plot twists that made it differ from the original and the book. However, the last 15 minutes or so of the movie went off the rails, trying too hard to be different, and making it way too far fetched (if that's possible based on the premise). A few good scares and jumps, but I would have been fine waiting to watch this at home.

Better than critics are saying

Don't understand the negative reviews from "professional" critics. I thought the movie laid out a well developed story about 3 interesting characters. Was there constant action, explosions, and CGI effects? No. For a change, this is a movie that involved dialogue and a plot. Guess that was too much for the pundits to handle.

Tedious and unimpressive
18 November 2018
I found the second installment of the Potter prequels to be better than the first, but it still wasn't very good. It felt every bit as long as its 135 minutes. More gratuitous CGI beasts and scenery, but it can't cover up for the fact that the characters just arent as endearing as the original Potter films. The storyline continues to go in several directions, none of which are that interesting. Sorry Ms. Rowling- you need to stick to writing the novels and leave the screenplays to others.

Fun and Action
11 November 2018
Perfect blend of WW2 action, zombies and gore. Don't go into this expecting Oscar nominations, and you'll enjoy the ride. It was exactly what I expected- I was entertained for close to 2 hrs. Got my money's worth.

Well Acted

Isaac and Kinglsey both give fantastic and memorable performances. I predict serious Oscar consideration for both. A well told story based on true events that even though you know how it ended historically, still keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Give Ant a Chance
7 June 2018
I was really disappointed to hear that Edd had left the show. But I've been hooked on the show for years, and decided to watch the past 2 seasons with Ant as the new mechanic. To be honest, I think Ant has a strong personality of his own, and brings his own talents and spin to the show. It's still a great show and worth watching. I do miss Edd, and I enjoyed him for years on this show. I was going to pout and boycott the show when he left. But I'm glad I stuck with the show and gave Ant a chance.

Left me wanting more
1 June 2018
Great ending to one of the best shows on TV over the past 6 yrs. Unlike some of the others who are griping about loose ends- I thought that angle was perfectly played. I liked the fact that the stories of all the complex characters were NOT wrapped up in a tidy bow. To answer all questions and close every angle to this story would have seemed contrived and phoney. Loved this show and will miss it.

Back on track

This had the look and feel of a Star Wars movie. Kudos to Ron Howard for "getting it." Good dialogue, good action and battle scenes without terrible gratuitous CGI. Glover nailed it as Lando. Ehrenreich was a capable Solo. This was a vast improvement over that Last Jedi debacle.
