Feels like a dark Disney channel show with sad life lessons
15 August 2018
The show does appear to fat shame on the surface because Patty (the main character) continuously voices how being skinny is the answer to everything. But the lesson of the show is that becoming skinny does not actually fix anything! Her life is still a complete nightmare and she's a selfish brat, only this selfishness manifests now that she looks better in a dress. It's hard to feel sympathy for Patty because she only cares about herself and is constantly making that evident with all the relationships she encounters. This is mirrored by her pageant coach bob, who attempts to find happiness but can't because of his inner selfishness, which is why they're such a good pair. The show actually teaches life lessons despite seeming like a dark Disney show. There are also good comedic moments so it's not always a sob story. This show may be triggering if you struggle with your weight and self image (which I do myself). But it was still worth watching because a lot of us have felt that being prettier would fix everything and it shouldn't be so upsetting to display this on a show, because it is an unfortunate reality. Also, the one curvier girl in the show was actually the only happy character who seemed to have her stuff together. I guess this shows that it matters more of what you make of your life than how much you weigh.

Doesn't have the same charm as the original
1 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Mamma Mia was my favorite movie growing up. It came out when I was 10 and my friends and I learned all of all the songs. Going into this movie, I was expecting to absolutely love it. However, minutes within the first scene of the movie it was revealed that Donna had died. This really upset me because Donna made the entire first movie. And they didn't even bother to mention how she died. Next, we get to the flashback scenes of young Donna. This I love because the fashion is beautiful and Lily James is wonderful and has a good singing voice. I really like how she sang the original songs but the newer songs were just meh (I don't see people getting into them). At first it doesn't really make sense how she meets the three dads because during the flashback in the previous movie they look way different. The current time scenes were pretty boring and just revolves around everyone being depressed about Donna. They could have done so much more if they had kept her alive. The movie overall lacked much of a plot or direction and you knew exactly what was going to happen (other than maybe Cher arriving on a helicopter?). Ultimately, Mamma MIA, Here We Go Again cannot match the charm and authenticity that made me and everyone else adore the first movie but I still think it's worth a watch.

Entertaining but obnoxious
16 June 2016
The drama on this show is so ridiculous. It's usually loud people screaming at each other about some problem. I'm not sure why Bill Cunningham enjoys sitting between two people who are yelling about unnecessary drama and attempting to council them in the end. He seems like an educated man so he could obviously find something else to do with his life, but if this is what he finds fitting then so be it. Anyway, I enjoy watching the Maury show and this is usually on afterwards. This show is pretty similar to the Maury show. I find it interesting to find out if the baby daddy is the real father and it's entertaining to listen to the guests problems when you have nothing better to do. I think that the actors are real on the show, even if the producers coach them on what to say. My guess is the reason they come on the show and agree to appearing so ridiculous is because they receive a free paternity test, get to travel to New York, and get to be aired on TV. So anyway, if you have some free time and want to be entertained by people who have problems maybe worse than yours then watch this show!

For the dog lovers-a warmhearted tale of heroism
26 June 2015
Going into view the movie, I had low expectations. I thought it was just going to be another boring kiddie movie. Boy, was I wrong!! This movie is action packed and intense. It kept me on the very edge of my seat the whole duration. There is some serious suspense to say the least. Not only that, but it's a real tear jerker. Good luck getting through this movie without becoming teary eyed at least once. I ended up falling in love with the dog Max and admired his loyalty toward his family. It really portrays how dogs are wonderful creatures at heart and brilliant judges of character. It's funny how one dog can make such a great impact. If you love dogs, warmhearted family stories, and tales of heroism then don't miss out on this one!
