I started watching it. Ten minutes later I turned it off. What were they thinking ???

Despite the multitude of poor reviews, as far as I am concerned, I was pleasantly entertained ... And, that that is why I watch a movie.

I agree, this movie should not have been released. It's as bad as bad can be.

I really wonder why someone bothered to make a film based on this true story. Absolutely no redeeming value...

That is what I keep asking myself; WHY did I end up watching this movie....

There is absolutely nothing about this production that would give viewers a chance to give it more than (1)....Poor, poor, poor...stick to watching paint dry !!!

When the original Papillon was released, I owned couple of movie theaters in Bricktown, NJ. We showed the movie for weeks. In fact my projectionist, who turned up becoming my brother in-law, learned the entire dialog. This version does not have to make any excuses. It is a great movie. Please, just leave it at that.

There is nothing of substance....There is nothing else to add.

Many have said to run and keep running away from this cheap attempt. I totally agree.

Yet, no one has said a word about the fact that the Costa Rica being shown is really an insult to the country. When Timberlake is driven to his hotel we see nothing but poverty and tropical slums. First of all, all international flights arrive in San Jose, the country's capital. Unlike what you see in the movie, the airport in SJ is very modern, and when you drive into the city you do not see any poverty. There is no poverty in the city.

The Spanish one hears spoken is typical of what is known as Caribbean Spanish...like what one hears in either Puerto Rico or Cuba.

The beach scenes we see are not to be found in either of the coasts.

The fact is the film was shot in Puerto Rico. What were the film makers attempting to do ??? Whatever they were doing did not work on me.

Yeah...run and keep running away from this cheap piece of ..... !!!
