Another Earth (2011)
Worst movie of the year?
If the premise of the this movie was true, there would be another tragedy. The other planet would have to watch this turd too. Slow, plodding, and unrealistic. Another "edgy, cool, can't miss" (according to the drunken reviewers)Suncrap p.o.s. Honestly, the only thing that comes out of that "show" is swag bags. How about putting someone in the flick we've heard of. Oh that's right, that would break another Suncrap rule. Let's face it, nothing comes out of there, and the reviewers know it. You know how you can smell a turd movie coming out? When Entertainment weekly gives it a, best ____of the summer, or how about, first top ______of the spring. Let's go with "Best movie that was released on an abnormally warm summer day". If it looks like a turd, it doesn't have to smell like one. It already qualified way before the wind changed.
Firefly: War Stories (2002)
Terrible continuity.
Watch the episode and you will see the worst example of editing/continuity you will ever see.
Your challenge is to find it.
Your clue is the following.
E
Other than that "little" unprofessional gaffe, this is a good series, and this is another good one. It's a shame they let this series drop. it reminds me of Deadwood. A great series they canceled because the powers that be decided they were going to work on other projects. The movie was nice too, but it's hard to talk someone into keep a project going when the movie only breaks even on a 40 million production budget
Tropic Thunder (2008)
Cruise hidden for a reason
I don't blame the studio for hiding Cruiseatology in this movie. Putting his name out there would have hurt the box office since he is a certified loon. Good job Tom, now you're hiding in movies with a different voice, which is a long way from your Top Gun/Oprah couch jumping days. You've ruined your child brides career, not to mention your own. What's next, doing a cartoon with your voice high, using a new name? You're an embarrassment. Leading a cult religion that kills it's people, and follows protesters around trying to film and intimidate them. Please retire, you know your "career" is over. How many people do you have to hurt?
Red Planet Mars (1952)
Not bad or a 50's flick
The acting was iffy as most of the Sci-fi movies of the 50's. it was nice to see Peter Graves in a movie before he was doing MI.I liked that series. and it's a shame Tom the "whackjob planet visitor" Cruise ruined the original.Dialog filler was the most annoying part of the movie for me. It amuses me when "reviewers" like Mr. "TCM Communist Paranoia Series" get into the review business with their veiled twisted view of the world.
Communist Paranoia Series? Uh, didn't we have a right to be paranoid of commies back then? I guess not when you're a closet commie yourself.Take down the red flag in your living room.
The Marine (2006)
When was this made
I caught the promo, and when I looked at the scene where the gas station was blowing up, regular gas was $1.34. I figure it went through some "touch up" before they felt they could release it, or waited for a slot with no big competition was coming out the same weekend.
Robert Patrick has finished 5 films since, and is currently filming a 6th. This is a great example of a film that should have gone straight to rental. Let me change that, straight to the Best Buy 2.99 bin.
What the heck was Patrick thinking. I realize you have to make a living, but wtf. Looking at the "movie" from an action standpoint ONLY,I guess you could sit through it in a pinch.
World Trade Center (2006)
Well done movie
I didn't think I would like Cage in this role at all. In the commercials he looked more like a 70's porn star than a fireman. I was pleasantly surprised after watching him.Good affects and great Dolby complete the package. I noticed a lot of haters giving this movie a one just like the movie that dealt with the plane that crashed short of it's target. I can only guess that when your political hatred takes over common sense it's a sad day. I've seen a lot of forums that are on a far end of common sense that don't like that this movie is out. I guess when your life is dedicated to distracting people to look away from issues that matter, anything goes.
Shame on you.
For the rest, go see it...Highly recommended
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Neutral Zone (1988)
The line of the show.
This was one of my favorite episodes from the series. Every time it was on, I ended up watching it again.
It was bugging me when I was watching an episode of Deadwood and I couldn't place the character Tom Nuttall from the show as L. Q. 'Sonny' Clemonds from TNG until I looked it up.
The line of the show was when he said to Data, "Why don't you come back later on and you and me will find us a couple low mileage "pit woofies" (sic?) and help em build a memory".
I was on the floor. He made the show.
Catch it if you haven't seen it.
