Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015)
Unlike those of its kind
The best way to summarize this movie would be to state that it is unlike any regular high school movie with grown up themes. It is a movie that in all of its simplicity conveys no real message of love, hope or strength in any way but manages to do this in a spectacular way. It has no happy or sad ending as the plot has no real basis for a climax but it is nonetheless joyous to watch. It has the possibility of bringing tears to your eyes when immersed in it. With all of these qualities, I believe that this movie is one to be seen by teenagers who are approximately as old as the characters and who may be able to relate to the characters. Watching it will be time well spent and it will trigger your emotional side. I would definitely recommend it.
The 100 (2014)
Waste of time
How does one start reviewing a TV series that is almost entirely crap? Well I don't really know but I'm probably going to see how while writing this review for The 100. In the series, set in about 100 years in the future, the remainder of humanity lives in a space station commonly referred to as the arc because of a nuclear war that deemed Earth inhabitable. Then one day this civilization on the space station decides to sends all of it's prisoners to earth in order to test life conditions on it. The thing that I must mention here which is extremely stupid here is the prisoners. As mentioned early on in the series there is an insufficiency of oxygen on the space station and therefore the punishment for nearly everything is being ''floated'' aka. removed of the ship, so why would there be a huge prison block in the ship where 100 prisoners are held? I mean in the eighth episode I believe the government on the space station decides to just kill 300 people in order to stop slow down the problem of the lack of oxygen, earlier during the 100 years in which they were in space wouldn't they have thought of a way to undermine oxygen consumption to the minimum? Or would they have just said yeah not our problem right now lol lets build a super cool prison block so we can send all of its inhabitants to earth and have an abandoned prison which we will never use, yeah seems like a great idea. The basic idea of the series is therefore stupid. But now let's get to the even dumber part of the series: The characters. Now our main character Clarke is one of the stupidest protagonists I have ever seen. Every action she takes is stupid. For example in the 8th episode I think her lover boy friend says yeah we can make peace with the grounders we just have to have a meeting but don't bring any guns. What does blondie do immediately calls the idiot (Rodrick from Wimpy Kid) and the charismatic guy (Finn I think?) to bring guns because why not not like the future of humanity depends on it. Then what happens you guessed it crap happens because of miss dumb ass. Rodrick sees a guy in the trees and just starts firing in the air(trying to kill a bird maybe?) and just generally everywhere which results in a kind of war between the grounders and the prisoners caused by our not so lovable moron Clarke. It's just completely and utterly stupid. Another character is Clarke's friend who Clark thinks is responsible for the death of her father. So long story short it turns out that Clarke's mother was responsible for the death of Clarke's father(such twist much plot wow) and that this guy took the blame for it so that the relationship between blondie and her mother wouldn't be damaged. After all of this crap is revealed the friend dies in the next episode and you know what Clarke does when she learns that the guy who took the blame and suffered for her mothers fault since their teen years just because he cared about them dies? she forgets him up until the kid's father asks him. Nice very convincing. It's just extremely stupid and the last thing I want to point out before ending this review with a final remark is that the psycho girl who killed the friend also had no meaning whatsoever. She came killed a guy and committed suicide. It had no impact whatsoever except for the exile of Murphy. Could have and should have been removed, it was stupid. So overall in this review I wanted to just point out a few main things that bothered me about this series and just show everyone that after watching it until the 10th episode I completely regret it. It seemed interesting at first but oh god is it not. A complete waste of time.
300: Rise of an Empire (2014)
Action packed combat, a bit unrealistic storyline
This movie, being a sequel-prequel thing of the movie 300, was actually better than I had expected. The battle scenes were shot brilliantly (although there might have been a little bit more blood than it should have been) and most of the time had me on the edge of my seat. The flaw of the movie was the storyline. On many occasions it had me thinking how the hell could that have happened. A few dozen Greek ships attacked the naval fleet of the Persian empire (which was composed of a thousand or so ships)and seemingly never lost a single ship whereas the Persian empire lost forty to fifty ships every battle. These aspects of the movie was exaggerated grossly compared to the real battles that commenced between the Greeks and the Persian empire. Another illogical scene that caught my eye in the movie was the sex scene between Themistokles and Artemisia. It simply made no sense whatsoever. Why would the commander of the Greek forces just go and sleep with one of their biggest enemies and the commander of the naval fleet just be down for that? That just didn't make any sense and in my opinion was just put there so there could be a sex scene in the movie, which let's be honest a lot of viewers would enjoy. Nevertheless the movie was an entertaining movie and I never got bored while watching. Would recommend it to people who want to see a little bit of sword fighting action and just have fun while watching.
Chasing Liberty (2004)
0/10 Worst Movie Ever
I was forced to watch this movie and suffered a lot because of all the crap. I am writing this review to prevent other people from suffering the agony i did. I mean you filmed a couple of cows crapping and filmed it it would still be better than this movie. There were so stupid scenes in it for example there was a scene where a group of people got the presidents daughter in a circle and pushed her around and the girl started crying. She started crying because they pushed her i mean who cries because he or she got pushed in a circle? Then she fell down and our Spanish muscular guy came to save her. He took her, carried her to a chopper in slow motion (definetely not a cliché) And at the beginning of the movie she runs out of a disco because she realizes there are people trying to keep her safe at the night club. She gets out and asks our Spanish muscular guy(who was a stranger at the time) if she can have a ride on his Vespa (very muscular vehicle indeed). They get on the Vespa and somehow manage to escape from a SUV with the Vespa (Bcause it is a known fact that all Vespas are faster than SUV's). The movie didn't make any sense and was extremely stupid. Do not watch this movie because you will regret it
