Somebody Somewhere (2022)
Rinse and repeat plot
Square peg moves back to their old round hole town. Dealing with their disfunctional family, old hurts, new friends, etc and trying to find some happiness.
Same old tired plot, only difference between this and dozens of other similar shows is maybe the gender and sexual orientation...and the problem it's just not very funny.
The fact that this show is listed as a comedy is really the only thing funny about it.
The Expanse (2015)
You could see this ending coming from Mars.
I watched this series all the way through and enjoyed for the most part. This last season was so predictable (no, I didn't read the books). Everything tied up neatly in a bow, with a big happy ending. I was hoping for something other than the same old, same old. Some originality, and twists would have been nice (like the first few seasons) and untimately was left disappointed by a typical Hollywood ending.
For all of the show's cleverness, and good characters originally in the first few seasons it was clearly lacking and inventiveness the last few seasons.
FC Bayern: Behind the Legend (2021)
A must for Bayern Fans
As a member of the Muller Mafia, I fully approve and recommend this! Gave me a lot of goosebumps. The only down side is the lame English dubbing (which I turned off after the first episode). Otherwise, ausgezeichnet! Mia San Mia!
Ratched (2020)
Much more style than substance.
Visually appealing, but predictably woke and trite.
Mank (2020)
Discombobulated mess.
Just because it's filmed in black and white doesn't make it arty, or thoughtful. Subplots zigzagging with little relevance to a main plot that never materialized. Zodiac was twice the movie.
Chad (2021)
Wish I could give a zero.
Unfunny and not terribly original. A 40 year old woman appropriating a teen age boy makes no sense.
Cosmos (2019)
Not your typical space adventure movie...in a good way!
No killer aliens. No galactic battles. It's a slow burn with very good characters, and a very good story. It was a fun couple of hours and glad I ran across it.
Magellan (2017)
Some bad, some not so bad
A pretty decent story. The lack of a concrete ending doesn't bother me as much as other reviewers. Sometimes no ending is still an ending.
The production on the other hand.... The space vehicle sets were laughably bad to the point of distraction, but the space and planet scenes were passable.
This would have been pretty good with a budget larger than a shoestring.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
My wish is: I didn't see this movie
Too long, too meandering and ridiculous of a plot. I don't need to see this one ever again.
