mole lot of fun
16 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
i was expecting this to be rubbish,i was wrong. this film deserves more recognition . a good solid comedy that reminded me of joes apartment.two slackers end up running a block of apartments in a run down part of town.except there's a problem with the moleman in the basement.full of quirky characters and an appearance from robert englund make this an indie gem.with billions spent on pap by Hollywood its good to know that people still make movies for the love n laughs and not just big bucks .go watch, enjoy.its best to watch with a few beers and sum mates with a sense of humour.if it wasn't for films like this id have given up on films years ago ,so thanks to the makers of this movie hope you make many more.

Offender (2012)
offended you will be
8 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
what a pile this film is.the comparisons to scum are meaningless, this is not in the same league.the beginning should sum this film up, a young lad beats up two riot cops with ease, then only gets two years, rubbish during the uk 2011 riots the sentencing was much harsher for far less.then we are taken on a journey to see why he did it.don't bother ,its a waste of time.i used to love these sort of dramas a sense of freedom ,made in Britain scum etc, they where not perfect, but had some sense of reality. are the writers of this garbage living on a different planet? sadly i think they are.making this type of film to appeal to the youth is a cynical marketing ploy. yeah there are lots of angry young men out there. but to tackle this complex social problem in such a one dimensional way is crass and insulting to viewers.

The Hide (2008)
director should make the wasp factory
29 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
what i was immediately reminded of when watching this excellent film, was iain banks the wasp factory.not just the bleak windswept location, but the calm but psychotic protagonist.a film about birdwatching shouldn't have you gripped from start to finnish.this certainly does, its best to go in blind for this one,so i wont say too much of what transpires.that way the viewer sees a calm almost nerdish twitcher with something totally unsettling about him.set entirely in one locale, this film shouldn't work but i think its one of the best thrillers,of the last few years.the dark secrets that lurk inside all of us even the most seemingly normal people are revealed .this film will stick with you long after its over and if your like me a repeat viewing is a must .funny disturbing and at just over an hour doesn't overstay its welcome.excellent.

how to kill a franchise
1 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Texas chainsaw massacre ended with this film.as a fan of the original, and impressed with the 2003 effort, this pitiful excuse of a film has ended what has been a great horror franchise for the makers.and a wonderful horror series for the fans.what a shame to go out with such a lacklustre film.everything is wrong, for a start like that other recent remake evil dead,it is completely boring, failing to keep anyones interest in any of the characters.a sad sad day for horror when two great titles have come to this.don't bother with this pile of dung, watch the original or the other remake.i cant see any fans of tcm liking this, when the lead actress says cuz do your stuff, it is beyond ridiculous.i hope this is the last remake or reimagining of anything im so pist right now.tcm it was nice knowing but so long.

Airborne (II) (2013)
does not get off the ground
26 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
yet again a good premise messed up.if this film had been made in the 50s or 60s, it would have been considered a classic.first it would have been directed by some one capable. like hitchcock, second it would have wit and charm from the actors.so when drama ensued you could root for the characters think cary grant.the only actor giving is all was andrew shim. who i hoped would survive till the end.but no it all ended up like guy ritchie does airplane .mockney went boring around 2000,so this dislikable bunch cannot be given any empathy, when they and the film eventually plummet to earth.its a shame coz the set up off being a supernatural being on board could have been brilliant.sadly i think directors don't care anymore what their audience think.and thats why we have this plane wreck of a film instead of a cult classic.

No Vacancy (2012)
1/10
the people who need help are filmmakers
24 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
remember years ago when some bore ,used to put on homemovies of weddings holidays and family gatherings.people would sit through them and politely keep quiet and not say a word in case you offended the host of these drab excuses for entertainment. roll on 20 years and this is what most of the found footage movies have become. i say most because i still think there are a couple of exceptions.grave encounters being one.this is not in the same league.in fact this would have been OK without the camcorders. if it wasn't such a rip off of vacancy which had great suspense and a scary setup.even though the people on screen are put through terrible ordeals. not once is there any feeling of fear for the victims.why, because everyone is so unlikeable that you don't care what happens. this film will annoy not scare and thats why this genre is going down the pan.if i was sherri moon id sue.

Hooligan (II) (2012)
your xxx and you know you are
16 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
this film is the best football hooligan film ever.the people who ;star; in it are really great people to look up to.donal macyntyre has really brought the issue of football violence into focus and can in no way be considered to condone such acts.by showing us clip after clip of people getting ther heads kicked in ,he has highlighted the brutal effects of violence.and in no way does this glorify these hard men .in fact this film will be studied academically in future so as to persuade people that gangs of men kicking each other in the head will never happen again. donal we salute you.i look forward to more enlightened filmaking from you what the world needs now is more and more clips of people getting there heads kicked in.

fantastic fun
15 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
what is wrong with people. nothing pleases them anymore.they want the same old same old drivel brought to them and if anyone trys anything new they get slated for it.simon pegg has made some great films and this is one of them.when the film opens the claustrophobia of peggs hovel is superbly done. having not heard of this i went in blind and that is a good thing.i didn't know if this would end up being one set piece; luckily pegg leaves his abode and when he gets to the laundry the film takes off.that scene is hilarious and leads somewhere you wont expect.mills has done an excellent job directing and i hope hes goes on to do more films.this film has a magical feel to it unlike most of the dross that passes for entertainment today.a film worth rewatching again with friends.like shaun of the dead this one will last as a favourite film .

Axed (2012)
7/10
a tale of modern times
8 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
this film deals with a subject that make headlines every week sadly.but here it is dealt with darkly black humour.johnathon hansler does a great job as the head of the wendell family. a man who succumbs to the pressures of modern life after losing his job.he takes his family on what they think is an ideal weekend in the country. once there he begins his reign of terror upon his loved ones . the violent scenes could have been a bit more gory which would have added more humour to a grim situation.overall i enjoyed this film and the negative comments don't add up. what do you expect from a film called axed?the director shows real potential and i look forward to more films from him.
