Cats (2019)
This is why we have trailers
If you watched the trailer, and couldn't tell that this movie would be a steaming mug of garbage juice, then it's your fault for going to see it. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because at least they tried to warn you.
The Young Pope (2016)
Does not live up to its potential
I really thought this show could be great, but ends up being a waste of time. I was expecting House if Cards, but at the Vatican. But instead, the show ends of being a meditation on an unlikeable character. The Pope doesn't come of as lovable or an anti-hero or even Machiavellian, but rather, just... (for lack of a better term) kind of a dick. I would be fine with the show being pro-Catholic OR heretical, but it is neither. It barely scratches the surface of the intrigue and politics surrounding the Vatican, and instead is just a tepid character study. This show could have been so much more if it had just picked a side!
Game of Thrones (2011)
An amazing show with a terrible ending
Man, I loved game of Thrones for a while there. For about 5 seasons it was one of the best shows on TV. But the quality of writing starts to seriously drop off around the 5th season, and then drives of a cliff in the 8th season. The writers (David Benioff and DB Weiss) did an adequate job of adapting the source material at first. But once they were forced to write for themselves, they tipped their hand at how poorly suited they were for the job. To make matters worse, they abandoned the series to go work on other projects, making the last season feel rushed, and haphazard. They couldn't have ruined the show any more if they tried. So in conclusion, everything you've heard about GOT is true. Great show, great characters, great acting, great special effects. But the final season is garbage. The biggest disappointment in television since Dexter! This series is well worth your time, but be prepared to walk away dissatisfied and disheartened.
Rick and Morty: The Ricklantis Mixup (2017)
A masterpiece!
Every once in a while an episode of a TV show comes along that is truly remarkable. This is not just a great episode of Rick and Morty, but one of the greatest episodes of television I've ever seen. They manage to do so much rich storytelling in such a short amount of time that you can't help but watch and marvel. The episode's events build to an extremely rewarding payoff in the final seconds. The multiple tropes being parodied make the episode accessible to even casual viewers, but the icing on the cake is the momentous reveal that will stun and electrify die-hard fans. This episode is a triumph!
What Is It? (2005)
Did not like at all
I appreciate surrealist art. I like dark comedy, the subversive, the cryptic and the bizarre. however this movie is nothing more than a painful waste of time. it completely reeks of "trying too hard" and the use of actors with down syndrome acts only as a gimmick rather than adding any depth. i've seen Crispin glover in other things, and usually he passes as a decent actor. he thrives when he's playing some kind of weirdo. but the only worthwhile roles he's had were written and produced by other people. his own personal work in video or music (yes music) is mostly garbage. this movie is nothing than an answer to a trivia question.
