The Batman (2022)
Yawn
Wow, was really looking forward to this but blimey what a boring, dull, dark film it is. Had to watch it to its dull ending though despite nearly nodding off half way through. I thought the latest Spiderman film was cr@p but this takes the biscuit, the music is as dreary as the acting too.
The Parish (2019)
What?
I don't get all the 10/10 reviews, the best thing about this film is that I only lost 1h 24m of my life watching it. I've been more scared watching The Chase or Pointless which is exactly what this film is.
The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020)
What on Earth....
..... have they done, I'll not mention the obvious token father to be and child, this is just utter garbage.
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Gobbledegook.
Haven't got a clue what is going on in this after two episodes, it might as well be in Chinese for what sense it makes.
1917 (2019)
Absolute Bilge
This is quite possibly, no wait, this is the worst ever depiction on film of World War 1 and thus does a great disservice to the memories of those men who lost their lives in the Great War. So totally unrealistic, terrible cringe worthy acting and desperately trying to be PC it made me sad to have wasted two hours watching it.
King Gary (2018)
Abysmal....
Really? The BBC who cancelled Count Arthur Strong, a truly funny and remarkable comedy show put out complete dross like this. I honestly cannot believe it. Loud, vulgar, ugly well done the beeb you have plumbed new depths in producing banal television.
6 Underground (2019)
OMG....... I Love this film.....
What the eff is wrong with people these days? Can someone, somewhere answer that simple question? I know there was a time that films were made to entertain without the need to psychoanalysis every single frame and line, films you could just ENJOY, do you remember that word? This is an amazing, fast paced totally unbelievable piece of magic, if you don't like it fair enough, but, your life will be emptier without this kind of pure escapism.
Corporate Animals (2019)
A great Friday night in....
How people can say this is the worst film they have ever seen is totally beyond me, I mean what we're they expecting?
It's funny, over the top and thoroughly enjoyable.
Give it a go just don't expect it to be some dull as dishwater PC drama.
Defending Santa (2013)
Dreadful
What an absolutely terrible film, I mean like everything about is truly, truly awful, avoid at all costs unless you are drunk.
The Lion King (2019)
They call me Mr Pig.....
...... not in this sad, emotionless, oh so pretty remake.... no they don't. The characters are so devoid of heart it's such a crying shame. The original humour and love is totally wiped out. I still cry watching the original but this left me feeling cold. The songs are not a patch on the originals. Oh I could go on and on, it's not terrible and for the PC generation it's probably perfectly acceptable but it's really just not on. And what happened to "old" Rafiki? Sad, very sad.
Crawl (2019)
Wow... Only joking
Destined for repeat after repeat on the UK Horror Channel. Totally cheesy, total tripe for a Friday night laugh.
Swamp Thing (2019)
Horrendous....
Terrible acting, so many goofs I lost count. I know you shouldn't expect something like this to be factual, I mean it's about a thing in a Swamp right, but really this is just taking the mick!
Instinct (2018)
Oh haters, don't you just hate 'em?
I love James Pattersons Cross novels, but watching this was light relief from those. Okay so it won't win major awards but who cares, it's funny, gentle even with good chemistry between the two main characters. If you need to analyse everything you watch then my advice is don't bother watching 90% of what is on TV, if you want something you can put your feet up with and have a smile on your face then you can't go wrong with this one.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Hmmmm...Not a masterpiece
Firstly let me point out that I am not a hater! This film is to be quite honest dreadful, at points its like watching a charity video or a very poor government propaganda film. The acting is poor, action sequences sparse and not very exciting and oh you get it, its a bit rubbish.
Evil Dead (2013)
Rubbish
Oh my God !!! What can I really say about this terrible film Just for the record I have seen the original many times and this remake well please read on...... This apart from the obvious Necronomicon link and the fast camera through the 'eerie woods' scenes could have actually being any low budget horror romp for a Friday night. Even the 'undead face appearing from under the basement' scene was less scary than the original. This is a total waste of time even on a weekday night with a few beers you'll find yourself ignoring the film and having a chat with your mam on the phone instead (sometimes far scarier!) There are so many remakes which do not make the grade this is one of them. Read one review said that the original was to cheesy well sorry 14 yo you should be in bed for ten at the latest anyway. Poor film, poor actors (high school jocks and nerd stoner with long hair..beards, some girls boring boring boring) Watch the original have a laugh with some beers and some girls and enjoy the scary bits. Or watch remakes of Hills have Eyes far superior. This is just my opinion...make your own minds up !
The Village (2013)
BBC goes downhill.....
Well what can I say about this apart from the fact it has quite nice scenery but hey you could watch Countryfile for that. I fought through the 1st episode and then nearly fell asleep during the 2nd. Boring, depressing, scenes which seem to last a lifetime with no apparent reason. Thank God for ITV and the excellent Endeavour. Once upon a time the BBC outclassed every other channel for it's drama but aside from Paradise which was far superior to ITV's Mr Selfridge they are now lacking in originality. If you like dreary grey drama then this is for you, everyone else I suggest you turn over. I hope the BBC can recover from this mess.
Skyfall (2012)
Dreadfall !
This must seriously be the worst Bond film ever made ! So many words that I could use to describe it, clichéd, dull, monotonous, weak, drivel etc etc. I am only really reviewing this in light of the upcoming Bafta awards and hoping, no, praying that it doesn't win anything ! From the awful theme tune (Adele doing a very poor impression of Shirley Bassey), to the so called action scenes, dialogue, totally unbelievable baddie. Myself and my girlfriend very nearly fell asleep watching it. I can't see any merit in the film whatsoever it is just an embarrassing mess from start to (thanks God it's over) finish. If you saw the trailer with Bond fixing his cuffs in the train carriage then that is the best scene. Utter rubbish !
