Loin du périph (2022)
Netflix continues to make movies without soul
Is this what a french comedy movie looks like? No way. Surely the french have to hate it. The comedy is for kids minus 1 scene with boobs in it for .5 second. Absolutely horrendous movie.
Points only for some action sequences (even though they were bad), direction, dialogue writing etc- bad bad bad.
Netflix continues its legacy of making films just to make its subscribers anticipate something new and then fail horribly. No soul in netflix movies. Just making films to add to their library.
So, conclusion? Dont watch this movie, instead, take your dog out for a walk and dont regret missing anything.
Fury (2014)
A must watch war movie!
Fury is by far one of the best war movies I have seen. It not only puts you on the edge but also touches the various aspects of the war. Brad has acted great as usual, kind of reminded me of his character in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards. Logan Lerman has done a fantastic job playing his character. The audio visual effects are up to the mark, special effects are even better with real time blood shed that is equally well directed. The fired rounds in the movie looked a bit funny as they were shown a bright red/blue colour, like a jedi's lightsaber. Some intense attack sequences had extra bit of fireworks in them that could have turned out better.
Brick Mansions (2014)
A remake-gone-wrong
The core plot of the movie is obviously taken from the original title, Banlieue 13 (which I haven't seen, would like to though. The movie has extended chases which contain Parkour founded by David Belle himself. Parkour is visually entertaining in most of the action sequences with Lino in them. On the other side, they do become boring and I wished that they were much shorter with most of David's signature moves. I think that would have been sufficient. This also applies to Paul Walker's (RIP) sequences, I mean, this is an undercover cop flick and not a superhero one.. I watched this movie solely for Paul Walker, RIP, buddy, we enjoyed the entertainment you brought into a film by all your characters.
22 Jump Street (2014)
Hilarious! more than 21 Jump Street
It seems Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have quite a chemistry creating such humor! Absolutely loved it! The plot may not seem that great but when a guy who's played lead in action flicks such as G.I Joe and White House Down along with this guy who's done a fantastic job in Mr. Scorsese's $100m extravaganza, The wolf of wall street, you create 22 Jump street! I am Being modest with a 6/10. All credit to the chemistry between the duo as mentioned earlier.
Although, the movie does seem to get a bit boring only a few times. definitely worth making 23, 24, 25.. Jump street.
So, how do you enjoy this movie? Have a beer, call some friends over, order a pizza, sit back and enjoy the movie. Have a napkin by your side, you may laugh your balls out at regular intervals. Enjoy!
The Purge: Anarchy (2014)
A must see for all those left disappointed with 'The Purge" and others too
We all watched 'The Purge" a year back thinking that the plot would keep you on the edge throughout the movie. Well, at least I did. It was a disappointment for most of us, including me.
This one, whoo! I must say, did do the job for me. I watched the movie in a constant state of mind thinking and putting myself in the shoes of the characters shown in the movie (some of them) as I was on the edge throughout the viewing and forced to rate it 7/10.
Its a good one time watch for you will see the different angles of any human who would have to survive such 12 long hours. One can derive a lot of moral from the movie if related the plot in a much broader perspective.
Although, the movie can become predictable at times, I must give the credit to the entertainment factor it offers to the viewers.
All in all, a job well done by Mr. James DeMonaco and others. Cheers to all! Enjoy the movie!
