Bigfoot Wars (2014)
Don't Waste Your Time (Some Spolers)
When I was kid, I read a lot of books about UFO's, the Bermuda Triangle, and Bigfoot. Naturally, when I saw that "Bigfoot Wars" had a decent rating, I gave it a chance. Unfortunately, the films decent rating was undeserved, and disingenuous. I even fell asleep during my first attempt to watch it, and it's a fairly short film. Well, being a fairly open minded person, I gave the movie a second chance, & made it all the way through. The first scene was a perfect metaphor for the film as a whole. The mayor of a small town in the U.S., is just about to sit on the john after having his way with a local working girl. Out of nowhere you hear a loud noise, and see glimpses of big hairy limbs. When the working girl goes to check out the commotion, she discovers a bloody mess, and is kidnapped by Bigfoot. Anyhow, this movie reminded me of a movie that you'd see for free on the science fiction channel. As for Bigfoot himself, there's a whole shrewdness of them, and none of them show an ounce of individuality, or intellect. All of them looked the same, ugly, and Neanderthal like. Do yourself a favor, and don't make the mistake that I did by watching this film. If you like Bigfoot, you'd be better off watching an episode of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot".
Ghost Mine (2013)
Definitely an interesting watch....
Aside from Ghost Hunters, Ghost Mine was one of my favorite paranormal investigation TV shows from 2013. I definitely enjoyed the progression of the show, and the escalation of paranormal experiences. When I was a child, the thought of entering a cave was always 1/2 way scary, but also adventurous. As for the cast, I thought they were interesting people. The miners have an interesting, and labor intense job. They're also very superstitious, and learning about their beliefs in things like "Tommy Knockers," was interesting. The best part of the show, for me, was the historical research into the mining town, and its connection to the Free Masons. There are definitely a few episodes, where interesting discoveries are made. Is the place really haunted? I definitely wouldn't want too camp in that area alone, but I definitely would like to see a second season.
