Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)
Is Shiva ever without Shakti/Parvati? It is like body without Soul
There are a lot of reviews highlighting that Brahmastra is a Love Story and nothing else but I believe a lot of mythological/religious references were not understood in general.
1. Part 1 is the story of "Shiva". Shiva - who in actuality, as a god, is a hermit. He is in meditation, UNTIL and UNLESS awakened by "Shakti" aka Parvati aka Isha.
2. As per religious/spiritual/mythological references, Shiva-Parvati ALWAYS exist together. They are 2 bodies and 1 soul. There is no one without the other. They are and will always look for one another as they can never exist apart. Like two parts of a Yin-Yang.
How can one make a movie about Shiva without the existence of Shakti?
3. As far as the passion of love of Shiva and Parvati goes, Shiva almost burnt everything and turned everything to ruins when "Sati"- Parvati's previous incarnation, died. Such is the intensity of Shiva's love for Parvati. Without her, he again went into hibernation to meditate, until AWAKENED by the reincarnation -Parvati. This is how Alia brings Ranbir's powers alive- by invoking that eternal love. And that love is his power.
4. Alia is rich in the movie and Ranbir a boy of humble background. Parvati herself was a King's daughter and Lord Shiva a humble mountain hermit, a Yogi.
5. Coming to the awakening of powers. Unrealised/unawakened power usually needs to be realised and unleashed. Reference can be Lord Hanuman, who had to be reminded of his true potential once he came of age and could handle his powers better. The story is of realisation of Shiva as the Agni Astra. The process in itself can take mighty work, the one of realising one's true potential!
6. How Shiva commanded Nandi to get up and fight again (power that Shiva also was unaware of). Only Lord Shiva can command that.
Overall the story is a good blend of mythological references and fiction. Ones who think it's a mere love story, to them I can say that in all the religious texts Shiva never existed without Shakti, nor he ever can, and also vice versa.
Part 1 Shiva without showing them together would have been a disrespect to Lord Shiva himself.
Kudos to the team altogether for the great effort. I hope part 2 lives up to the expectations and doesn't de-rail from the beautiful subtle mythological references seeped into fiction.
VFX was great and Songs can be better. But overall
something super unique and different.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015)
Can definitely engrave its name in "The best movies of Bollywood ever!!"
It has been two days since i watched this beautiful masterpiece and i am still not out of the mesmerised state the film had put me in!The whole movie is exceptional, from script to acting to casting to background score to crisp editing to super hilarious dialogues to just about everything.
Lets start with the 1st half-a laugh riot!! Well whole movie is indeed a laugh riot but 1st part nails it to the core!! You may fall off your seat laughing.KUDOS!! to Himanshu Sharma for such amazing dialogues and Deepak Dobriyal for his exceptional comic timing.Best thing about the movie is that comedy isn't forced at all unlike most of the bollywood movies of this decade.Everything is so natural and humour just segues smoothly. You get so engrossed from the 1st minute itself that you don't even realise when the interval comes!!
Now about the 2nd half.many people think that second half was predictable but then i feel to make "tanu weds manu returns" they eventually have to return together and that would obviously have been obvious! i found the 2nd half as brilliant as the 1st.
WHAT A LOVE STORY!! 2 completely different people-can't stay with, can't stay without!! The way tanu and manu complement each other is amazing! The second part had comedy as well as emotional moments which suit the movie very well according to me.When i saw their marriage actually falling apart in the end,I had this heart ache and KUDOS! to actors and the entire team for projecting those emotions so well on screen.MADDY is so cute with his expressions sometimes i feel like pulling his chubby cheeks!!
The entire cast is stupendous AND THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DEFINE KANGANA!This movie gave me everything-doses of laughter, moist eyes and yes!! SOCIAL MESSAGE.Very cleverly social messages have been incorporated in the script,an endeavour that hardly any ROM-COM has ventured on ever!! :)
Apart from very very minute lacunae (which i can easily over-look for this brilliant movie) this movie deserves a standing ovation! The entire cast and everyone involved -TAKE A BOW!!!!
The Princess Bride (1987)
most over-rated piece of filth ever made
this is my first review on IMDb and i never thought i would write it for this movie and most importantly that i would start by writing a negative review, but i couldn't control my over whelming emotions, anger and disgust when the movie finished."IMDb rating 8.2" -i held my self throughout the movie by reverberating this statement in my mind.but holy crap...the whole movie ended and at the end i was like what did i just see!!! i don't know what people liked in this filthy movie with predictable story, over acting and boring presentation.to be honest i am a fairy tale person.i love such stories but this movie is a blot on fairy tales.they think saying these lines "my love will come" "true love succeeds" blah blah along with prince and princess can make a love ballet.AGGHHHH!!! can just say wasted 720 MB of my download. those who haven't seen PLEASE RESTRAINT!!
