Mother/Android (2021)
I truly don't understand the negative reviews.
Okay yes, this is a story setting that has been used time and time again. We've seen the apocalypse/survival thing in so many movies and tv shows over the years. BUT, that being said, I thought this was a pretty good movie. Was it a 10/10? No, I wouldn't say that. It wasn't even close to being on the same level of say, A Quiet Place. But I thought it was good. I would describe it as like, A Quiet Place's cousin that lives out of state or something. I thought everyone's acting was solid, the storyline had some loopholes but nothing that made me want to completely stop watching. I enjoyed it! Watch for yourself and give it a chance, you might be pleasantly surprised!
The Perfection (2018)
Had no idea what the hell was going on 90% of the time, but didn't mind in the slightest. Good movie.
I went into this movie with no expectations. While I think the script could've used a little fine tuning (lol), the acting was great, the twists were great, and it definitely kept me on my toes.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Stunned.
I went into this expecting it to just be your typical horror show, ghosts and gouls and jump scares in the like. What I didn't expect was to be so incredibly emotionally attached to these characters by the end.
This is not a show to just start and expect to be playing on your phone or cleaning while you watch. You have to pay attention to every single detail, as the smallest thing could impact the story. It's soaked in atmosphere from the very beginning, all the way through. It brings fear into play, while making you think. And the whole time, you find yourself caring so deeply for these characters. Feeling their emotions, their grief, their pain and longing. Even the supporting characters you feel for, and hope for. I've never experienced anything like it.
It ties up all storylines, so you don't end it with unanswered questions. The depth of this series will take you by surprise. It's haunting. It's painful. It's beautiful.
