Hot to Trot (1988)
Great Comedy On Par With The Classics
I wish I still had this movie, I sold it but had watched it a lot back in the day. It has everything a good old Jerry Lewis movie would have. Bobcat's "character" is a combination of his old crazy Police Academy self, and a new sort of guy that wants to fit in and make it in society. There's a lot of great characters in this. Although it's predictable, the execution makes it worth the ride every time. It's not "viral" or anything. It's a hidden gem for people who appreciate the classics but also like it when things just get outright silly. The unexplained things that get written in to this kind of comedy make it what it is. This isn't going to impress any snobs who have never farted or talked in a funny voice. But it doesn't rely on toilet humor either. It's just right.
Knight Rider: Knight Rider (2008)
This has been totally revamped!!! VERY GOOD!!!
I just saw the preview for next weeks new episode on Fancast. What an awesome surprise first that Fancast would do this, but the biggest surprise was how good this show is now.
This is not the same as the pre that was floating around on the internet in February. This is more action packed, fun, and exciting. The show now keeps you laughing, on the edge of your seat, and immersed in the mystery of Michael's past and how it relates to the present.
You will not believe how much better this is now. It is a must see, and is going to be very hot. The car looks and sounds awesome and the special effects are top notch. Some things are over the top but so well done you will just be excited to watch the next episode. This could be the best new show for the upcoming season. Get out the popcorn tell everyone in the house they should check this out when it comes on and get ready for some fun.
Although this could be watched by the entire family, it has some mature elements and sexual tension but is very well done and backed up by the storyline. There is little bit of tribute to the kinds of things that happen to James Bond as he is much too busy getting shot at to get too much into the romance and this keeps everything moving along so you don't want to turn away for a minute.
What is truly amazing is that someone took some advice and totally remade this a second time and it finally works. Whoever was involved with the new ideas and making the changes and getting this right should be proud and expect a following much like the Lost phenomenon.
Hopefully, they can keep this formula going for quite some time.
One Missed Call (2008)
What silly death would you have to tell yourself about?
I always think a deer might jump out in front of me and I will swerve and drive off a cliff. As a truck driver, I am in a lot of dangerous areas. We know the best thing to do is just hit the deer, but I notice when they run in the road I panic and think I need to avoid hitting them. Because of so many hours of driving and getting in a zone, things like that make you jerk the wheel if you are not careful.
So would you call yourself names? "You idiot, what were you thinking?" Will some of you call yourself to say how you died from playing WOW and not eating/drinking/sleeping/bathing for 3 days? "Stay away from the expansion pack!"
The Office (2005)
If you don't get it, then must be you are the ones this makes fun of
You are the manager who wants to be cool over doing what it takes to get things done. You want to be taken seriously, but don't have the balls to apply your skills. You don't want admit your frat buddies are not there for you any more. You think this is actually too realistic and don't get it. What is so funny about someone acting like you and people who work under you pretending to respect you then laughing behind your back. This show has something special though, it relieves the tension and adds some romanticism to real life. People aren't afraid to speak their mind and there are layers of personalities for each character. There is what you expect, what one would do in real life, then what one should be able to do but can't in real life. It has things that people daydream about come to life and then shows the consequences of that. Sometimes it is nothing special, but sometimes you can't believe the things that happen and that it can return to normal again. To write the show so it works is just genius. I had a chance to move up to management and did it for a while, then stepped down because I couldn't get along with people any more that I used to. You can't be cool any more. Even when you try, people then go after you for not being the management type. Then you try to step up and manage, then a manager above you will not approve of any changes you want to make. So you start to feel a little crazy and then you snicker behind his or her back. It's genius how they carry this on, I decided to find a better career that paid more and doesn't have all the BS that this show pokes fun at. This is about the people that know of nothing else and will die in their work clothes during the one millionth meeting about sexual harassment. The characters are well done. The only thing that needs improvement is longer episodes and for the things that are insinuated to take place sooner.
Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave (2005)
I can't believe you morons are analyzing this for plot holes
I've watched every cheesy horror flick that's been released since 1901 (lol exaggerating), well most of them. I'm up for a good Abbot and Costello go to Mars or for the latest stupid thrown together B movie. Some of them suck, but to take the time to analyze this for plot holes and character development? This plot is hilarious. Could you think of a way to bring back the dead one more time? Let's see your scripts.

The Island (2005)
It's like a high budget new episode of the Twilight Zone
Most movies are really good but you watch it once and maybe rent the DVD and that's enough. This movie could play in the background of my office every day if it wanted. It's a classic in my book and deserves to be played in the background of other movies in tribute.
It seems to get ideas from classics like Soilen Green and War Of The Worlds but doesn't end up making cheese. It's more like The Matrix except it makes more sense and is easier to figure out and doesn't require a lot of CGI and sequels.
This movie doesn't even need to be spoken for with ten lines. It stands on it's own. If you watched it when it first came out, you might have jumped the gun thinking there would be all kinds of similar movies that would be done better. But as the seeds sank into the soil, the trees began to grow.
