Cube Zero (2004)
How the Mighty Have Fallen
Cube was a really amazing science fiction movie. Cube 2 was just OK and that is being pretty kind. Cube Zero however is a complete and total train wreck. The story makes no sense, the acting and characters are awful. Especially the fat guy Meyerhold I mean who has his face melting and is just like "huh crap!" I really hate this movie, it ruins the entire Cube franchise for me it is so stupid.
Farther West (1992)
Decent Movie
I liked the acting and the writing was also good. It is just a simple story and looks like TV quality from the early 1990s which is not a great thing.
King Ralph (1991)
King of Comedies!
Very minor spoilers ahead...
King Ralph is the king! He is funny and so is this movie! John Goodman is... well he is the king! The king of comedy!
Everything about this movie is great, and not just realistic but super funny. I mean... who doesn't want to watch a movie where a sloppy slob of a lounge singer and a drunk gets chosen to be the king of the United Kingdom after a horrible accident kills the entire royal family?
Who wouldn't want to see a movie where John Goodman challenges the animal skin wearing king of an African nation to darts but then also darts outside where they actually throw spears?
Even his mistakes are hilarious, like when he dances with a stripper at a royal event? Even his piano is hilarious because it's so teeny tiny and he is very big, and he plays rock and roll on it. Needless to say his rock and roll music is shocking to the other royals in attendance, including their daughter, the princess of Finland and Ralph's would-be bride, who has a hilariously deep, moose-like voice. In fact his music is so shocking it might even make some snob's monocle fall out into his champagne glass!
OK so the movie is pretty stupid but it's also very fun and funny. Lighten up and enjoy it ya snooty snobs!
Happy as the Grass Was Green (1973)
Good!
Shortly after this movie was released the title of this film was changed to Hazel's People which is the common title you can find it under now. It is about the Pennsylvania Dutch (which is actually Deutsch or German) Amish people. It is a bit different and kind of a jarring look at an Amish family where one son is tragically killed while protesting the Vietnam War at university. His friend who looks like a hippie goes to tell his family the bad news and talk to them about their son but they are obviously reluctant to let this hippie into their lives and community. There is great acting in this movie and a good story, I recommend it. Good and close to being a great film.
