Drake & Josh (2004–2007)
10/10
This Show is Legendary!
20 January 2023
2004, I was newly 8 years old and the show premiered on January 11. My sense of humor was melded by this show. Drake & Josh was my childhood. I literally grew up watching this show religiously. I was so obsessed because of the amazing humor and chemistry between Drake Bell and Josh Peck. This show was basically Nickelodeon's The Odd Couple. I always loved buddy comedies and Drake & Josh was my #1!

I also loved the parents and Miranda Cosgrove, even though the parents are so dumb to not find out that Megan is a DEMON! Also great side characters like Mindy, Helen and Crazy Steve and the nerds. I always loved the show and the TV films, Drake & Josh Go Hollywood and Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh.

Pinocchio (I) (2022)

Not Great But Tom Hanks Was Amazing!
9 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the movie but it wasn't the best of the live action remakes Disney have been releasing. I did enjoy how Pinocchio was adapted to be this innocent puppet and the actor's voice was just cute to hear. Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a wonderful job as Jiminy Crickett. But nothing makes it even more watchable because of Tom Hanks. I loved Tom as Gepetto! But I will have to say that it felt a little too lighthearted than the animated version. The original was way more darker than this. And the donkey transformation was a little anticlimactic. It did bring me back when I was traumatized by that scene and the Monstro scene as well. But overall, it was an okay film. The writing could've been better but nothing makes it better than Tom Hanks.

By Far The Best Spider-Man MCU Film
20 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Oh...my...God! Not only did this movie broke me, it delivered! I was skeptical about the whole Multiverse story, heard all the rumors and thought, "Psh! That'll never happen!". Boy, was I wrong!

I have been a HUGE Spider-Man fan for at least 21 years. I fell in love with the character at the age of 4 because of the 90s cartoon. After finding out that he was a comic book character, I ended up going to the library almost every Saturday to go to the comic book section and read Spider-Man, which causes me to find other comics like Batman, Iron Man, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. Because of Spider-Man, I became a comic book fan of DC and Marvel. This has been a dream of mine for a long time to see these amazing characters on the bug screen. What a time to be alive!

This movie really stepped it up, making Homecoming and Far From Home the appetizer and entrée. This film is the dessert that REALLY hits the spot. This is the most emotional we got from Tom Holland as Peter Parker and his chemistry between him, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon has definitely bloomed since Homecoming. Benedict Cumberbatch brings in the gravitas as Dr. Strange once again. I also like that he wasn't in it as much knowing that this is Spider-Man's movie. But the next best layer of this dessert is the villains.

Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Jamie Foxx, Thomas Hayden Church and Rhys Ifans coming back?! Sign me up! Especially seeing my boy Alfred come back for Doc Ock, because he was my favorite villain from the Raimi/Maguire films. I was definitely happy to see Willem back as Norman/Green Goblin because he is the definitive Norman Osborn I grew up on. Willem being the mask of Goblin is way better than what he was wearing in the 2002 film. I was never a fan of that Power Ranger mask, he's even creepier without it on, in example, this movie. Willem crushes it everytime when he was in the frame. That moment when Peter was fighting him and punching him in the face while Goblin is just laughing and smiling, that shows that Goblin is DEFINITELY Spider-Man's Joker. I am also glad we get some redemption for these characters as well because of how their stories ended with their death, except for Sandman and Lizard. My theory is that Sandman was from a later time after Spider-Man 3 and Lizard is.

Spider-Man Is Still My #1 Favorite Hero
14 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have been a huge fan of Spider-Man since I was 4 years old once I started watching the 90s cartoon back in the year of 2000. And also, thanks Dad for taking me and my sister to the local library so I can read all of the comic books at the comic book section.

I really loved this movie. Even though the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies are forever my favorites, I really enjoyed this one. The very first MCU Spider-Man movie, produced by Kevin Feige and distributed by Sony. Even though it's a Sony movie, it's a part of the MCU. I enjoyed Tom Holland in Captain America: Civil War, even though he was just a small role in that film. But when I saw this for the first time, I was sold. And the dude is the same age as me, except I'm five months older than him. Tom has a future as a leading actor. He really brings the essence of Peter Parker and Spider-Man all together. He has Tobey's awkwardness and Andrew's charm, but his Spider-Man is next level. My only problem is that he is set out to be the new Tony Stark. I don't want Iron Man, Jr., I want Spider-Man to be Spider-Man. But I do love the chemistry between Robert Downey, Jr. And Tom in this film. Tony plays the sort of father figure/mentor of the film while Peter tries his best to impress and prove him to become the next new Avenger. I really loved Jon Favreau as Happy in this as the kind of "big brother" to Peter. Marisa To-May (get it?) was actually a good cast as Aunt May, even though I favor Rosemary Harris' in the Raimi films. And seeing Pepper Potts in the end was a breath of fresh air.

But Michael Keaton. Wow... just wow! I have been clamoring for the Vulture to appear in a Spider-Man movie ever since it was confirmed to have the character in the 4th Raimi film to be played by John Malkovich, but that didn't happen. Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture was outstanding! Instead of being a scientist who created the wings at Oscorp, he is a salvage worker who was hired to salvage the destruction from the New York Battle in The Avengers until Damage Control comes in to take care of the rest of it, leading Toomes and his salvage company to go out of business. Toomes becomes a scavenger to go to all the aftermaths that happens every time there was an attack on Earth. Him and his crew develop high tech weapons and sells them to the highest bidder (street level criminals). That is until Spider-Man sticks his nose into Toomes' business. Toomes is accompanied by The Tinkerer and Shocker's 1 and 2 (Jackson Brice, who dies accidentally, and Herman Schultz, the OG Shocker). Even Donald Glover appears as Miles Morales' uncle, Aaron Davis aka The Prowler. I know my Spider-Man villains, lol. But Michael Keaton did an outstanding job as Toomes. He was intense. I mean, come on, my favorite Batman actor comes back in the superhero world as one of my favorite Spider-Man villains. That scene when he was intimidating Peter in the car, made me terrified. The green light just simmers onto Keaton's face, and it was a chef's kiss. Mwah!

And now the feel of the movie, I got John Hughes vibes from this film. I loved Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Breakfast Club, and it felt like that when I watch this movie. It totally felt like a high school movie. I really liked Zendaya was Michelle. She was a pivotal role in the film, but I enjoyed the character which is a new iteration of the Mary Jane Watson character in the comics. At first I thought I was gonna be annoyed by Ned, played by Jacob Batalon, but I grew to love this character. He had so many funny moments, I had to laugh because it was that funny. And the potential love interest, Liz, I really liked her character. Finding out her dad was Adrian Toomes, my jaw dropped. I didn't expect that to happen.

I thought Michael Giacchino's score was very well composed. And the action and effects are just eye opening to see. Very amped up than the Raimi and Webb films.

Overall, I give Spider-Man: Homecoming a 9/10.

Black Widow (2021)
7/10
Enjoyable and Rewatchable
14 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I got to be honest, it's a likable film, but it's not the greatest film ever made.

Marvel Studios has put out hit after hit after hit for the past decade (excluding The Dark World and Iron Man 2). Now we finally get the movie we should have gotten back in Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I always thought Black Widow worked better as a supporting character in the last two Captain America film's and the Avengers films. But then Scarlett Johansson proved me wrong. I thought Natasha was a great lead role in this film. Knowing that this takes place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, it blends in very well. We get to find out how she got that nice vest with many pockets and why she dyed her hair blonde. The action and the effects were amazing.

David Harbour and Florence Pugh as Aleksei aka The Red Guardian and Yelena Belova was the scene stealers. David Harbour was super funny in this as the Russian counterpart of Captain America while Florence was amazing as Yelena. Rachel Weicz was also a sight to see in this film as Melina, the mother of the group.

My only complaints are how they totally botched the build up of Dreykov, portrayed by Ray Winstone, which was hyped up since the first Avengers film. I was excited to see Taskmaster in this film, hoping that it was gonna be Tony Masters from the comics, but to find out that it was Dreykov's daughter this entire time, which I didn't mind. Equality, right?! My only gripe about Taskmaster was that the character was totally underused. It felt like she was Dreykov's dog still attached to its leash. Thank God, there was no love interest in this film.

But overall, I enjoyed the film. It's not the greatest and nowhere near a perfect film. But I would definitely watch it again. I had a great time with this film.

Rating: 7/10.

Finally! A Kung-Fu Film Made By Marvel Studios!
14 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
How can I describe how much I love this movie?! I LOVED it! By far the best superhero movie of the year (until Spider-Man: No Way Home comes out).

I grew up reading Marvel Comics (thanks Dad for the many visits to the local library). That's how I became a huge fan of Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, The Avengers, etc. And Shang-Chi was one of those comics I read growing up. I watched so many Bruce Lee movies and wished that he was still alive to have at least played Shang-Chi back in the day. But then I got my wish this year!

I really enjoyed the story of this film and it gives the backstory of the Ten Rings organization, as depicted first in 2008's Iron Man. Tony Yeong was amazing as Wenwu, the OG Mandarin in the comics. He was just a father that wanted to reunite with his family and bring back his dead wife to be a family again. And I loved Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. He bodied the character very well and I loved the banter between him and Awkwafina's character. I thought Awkwafina was gonna be annoying at first, but then I grew to love her character. I'm happy that Shang-Chi and Katy weren't love interests in this one, but I don't mind if we see them as a couple in the next one (and there will definitely be a next Shang-Chi film). It was a surprise that I get to see Abomination back in his true comic accurate form! And Wong fighting him?! Come on, that's awesome! Ben Kingsley was a surprise to see. I loved him in this more than when he was "acting" as the Mandarin in Iron Man 3. I really liked Shang-Chi's sister, Xialing, who is a badass by the way. I loved the story and the characters and oh my God, the score and visuals was stunning!

I loved the choreography of the many styles of Kung-Fu. The fighting was just spot on from what I've seen watching the Bruce Lee films. And I got to admit, Wenwu was an amazing villain. I put him up there with Thanos, Killmonger, Loki, Mysterio, Vulture, Red Skull and Ego the Living Planet.

Overall, I give Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings a solid 10/10.

Eternals (2021)
10/10
A Really Well-Thought Out MCU Film
14 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand the hate on this film. I came in to the theater to watch this two times and loved it.

Even though it's not the GREATEST film ever made, I loved this film because it was different from the others under the MCU banner. Chloe Zhao did a tremendous job directing this film. The plot was very simple and I really liked the transitions between the present day and flashbacks of when the Eternals were starting. This film is more adult oriented because we see Ikarus and Sersei doing the nasty (show me the nasty, I don't care!). Phastos was a standout and I loved Kingo. I loved the chemistry between all of the characters. Richard Madden was amazing as Ikarus, the way he twists it around in the 3rd act when he turns against his team/family really got me. And also when he was trying to kill Sersei, he couldn't, because he still loves her and didn't want to fight his team and also that he still believes in the blueprint of the universe which causes himself to commit suicide by flying to the sun in full force.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Sersei and Dane Whitman aka Black Knight in the comics. And I loved Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie in this film. But the ones who standout to me was Makkari and Druig. Makkari is a badass speedster, and the visuals was amazing on her power. Druig was amazing and he would've taken over the entire world in an instant with that insane power of his. I loved the banter and chemistry between the both of them. I definitely "ship" these two characters.

There wasn't that much action scenes in this film, and to be honest, I didn't bother me. The action was great, but you don't need a lot of action in a superhero movie as long as the story holds up and the characters serve the purpose of the story. That's all I care about seeing a good movie. A great story and amazing characters that I'll love. And boy, this movie delivered that. At my second viewing, my best friend complained that there wasn't enough action and that it dragged a couple times. I totally disagree but that's his opinion. Film is subjective.

But I do have one gripe about Eternals, and it's the Deviants. It felt like they were only there to put some conflict into the story. I thought Ikarus as the twist would have made the movie better without the Deviants. But Arishem the Judge, one of the Celestials of the Universe, is no joke! When we see Arishem in the sky by the people's view on Earth, I sunk onto my chair. It made me realize that everything that had happened on Earth (i.e. Thanos, Ultron, etc.) were just small events. Arishem the Judge is the new big bad in this new phase of the MCU. He decides to either Earth is worthy enough stay afloat in the universe the Celestials created. How are our heroes gonna stop him?! He takes Sersei, Phastos, and Kingo while Dan Whitman decides to wield the Ebony Sword and Mahershala Ali's voice is heard, talking to Dane. That means the Daywalker is coming, Blade himself! I think Kit Harrington is gonna appear in the Blade movie. And Starfox aka Aros, Thanos' brother played by Harry Styles (can't wait to see him in future movies) meets up with Thena, Druig and Makkari and tells them that the others are in trouble and that he knows where they are. And Pip the Troll (with horrible 2005 looking CGI) voiced by Patton Oswalt! Can't wait to see him more but with better CGI.

Overall, I give MCU's Eternals a 10/10.

Good, but not Great
6 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have been a huge Spider-Man fan for a long time and I have to say, this movie is not that great. It's still entertaining to watch but it's just not that great.

I still loved Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in this movie as much as I said about The Amazing Spider-Man. This movie is definitely botched with so many holes in the plot, and most definitely shifts between the tone of the film. Light or dark, just pick one!

Dane DeHaan did a good job as Peter's long lost childhood friend Harry Osborn, which was rushed to become Green Goblin at the end, which is a total waste of an amazing villain. I was excited to see Jamie Foxx as Electro, boy was I surprised. The Max Dillon part seemed so Edward Nigma from Batman Forever, which I didn't like, but I loved the Electro part of Jamie's performance. And there was two appearances by Paul Giamatti who plays Aleksei Sytsevich also known as Rhino from the comics, which seemed too hammy with a horrible Russian accent. I definitely was shocked by Gwen's death even though I knew it was coming.

So far, I liked the film but it bugged me at the same time. 6/10.

Best Spidey Yet! (Major Spoilers!)
31 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is one of the best Spider-Man films ever made. Since 2002, when the first Spider-Man movie came out, I was surprised. I liked Tobey Maguire's performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, but I found that he did a well Peter Parker than just being an amazing Spidey. What I saw from Andrew Garfield's performance, I was blown away. It felt like that Spider-Man is in the real world. And I loved the chemistry between Peter and Gwen, at which Emma Stone did a wonderful performance. But the one thing that I most recently loved is the casting. I mean Andrew did an amazing job as Peter/Spidey and Emma Stone made Gwen look so innocent and sweet but feisty. And Rhys Ifans did a prestigious job as the Lizard/Dr. Connors. And Denis Leary did an amazing job. I also like the way when Sony wants to give a link about Peter's parents because they actually happen to be the untold story. Everybody says, "There is no untold story! It's just the origin again!" Well, to prove you wrong, the untold story is about how Peter became an orphan and how he moved to Uncle Ben and Aunt May's. SPOILERS AHEAD!: In the scene when Gwen is leading the tour of interns, in the hologram of the tree of life, a rhino shown that could be an easter egg to one of Spidey's baddies (Rhino aka Alex O'Hirn). Also, in the end when Spidey does his final swing (like what they did with the Raimi films), he goes through an alley that reveals a yellow and red bottom pants that could be a reference to Shocker (Herman Schultz) and an open window reveals doves which could be a reference to Vulture (I don't know why)and there was a cloud silhouette also covering up the moon shows a reference to Mysterio and there was a lightning rod that could be a reference to Electro. Also when you hear a rattling sound and the screen slows down, right in front of Spidey happens to be the Washington Bridge, where Gwen gets killed by The Green Goblin! By the way, i still think this a good spidey movie. So 9/10
