This is how a play could (should) be adapted to film: Excellent: Very few scenes, intense and brilliant acting, a meaningful dialog - yes, this could be dramatized for radio (come on BBC7) and be just as exciting as the film version.
The film version is so intensively exciting mainly because it's a damn good story, and because of the brilliant cast.
The style of this film - the few scenes, tender cutting, and thus the theater-feeling - makes me think of another masterpieces as Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. This film also has the intensity of even the best of todays car-chase-all-the-time movies.
To the viewers: See it!
And to BBC: Dramatize it for radio!
