The Paragon of Comedy (1983 TV Movie)

Bong-spilling funny stuff!!!
25 September 2008
I remember this from when my sister had HBO back in '83. It was WAY too funny then & I'm sure would still be today. Paul Ruebens, Elvira, Edie McClurg aka Mrs Herb Mendenhall. All hilarious comics.

WHERE CAN WE BUY THIS COMEDY CLASSIC!?!?!? It's hard to believe that you can get ever how many seasons of "Perfect Strangers" on DVD but you can't find this anywhere! There was some guy selling bootlegs back in 2005 according to Google. Maybe they'll read this page & re-issue it. HBO??? You hear me??

"Joo are a very beautiful woman. What is your name?? My name is Ramone Azteca. This is the Ramone Azteca portion of the show." This and many many more joys await you!

Bill Hicks: Sane Man (1989 Video)
9/10
rings true like a bell
13 September 2006
The most strange part of Bill's work from over 12 years ago is that it rings true to this day. Check out his Bush material on "Arizona Bay" & see if it doesn't sound like a modern day comedian talking about George W.

As for "Sane Man" it is easily one of the Top Ten Funniest stand-up videos of all time. Watch it & call me a liar. You can't! It's on par with "Richard Pryor Live" (or "Live on the Sunset Strip")

His attacks are precise. His findings relevant. His timing perfect. He manipulates the microphone like no one else.

Tool fans will recognize Bill as the guy from the song "Third Eye" telling the "today a young man on acid..." story.

I loved Bill's work, miss him dearly & quote him AT LEAST once a week, hence my screen name for over seven years: BillHicksFan

SquiggleVision rocks!!
23 June 2005
I'd heard this was very expensive to make due to the SquiggleVision process. I've had friends complain it makes them motion sick which is almost as funny as the show itself.

I once told a girlfriend "If I ever leave you for a cartoon it will be for Laura." Sick & sad but true...

For those of you signing petitions to get it on DVD s-t-o-p already!! It's been out on DVD forever now. Do some research why don't you!?!?

This was easily one of the funniest animated shows ever & likely one of the funniest shows made to date. As good as or better than "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" "South Park" and "The Simpsons" and it was basically just stand-up comedians doing their routines on a couch. "Frozen foods! Frozen foods! People let me tell you 'bout those frozen foods!"
