The Plot Against the President (2020)
Corruption at the highest levels
Whether one likes or dislikes the president it is pretty clear that there was a plot to overthrow him. The plot both failed and succeeded.
It failed because the wrong presidential candidate got elected. It succeeded because it haunted the president for more than 3 years. Not only people who were behind the plot have not got punished but they were also able to persecute innocent people to cover for their deeds. Every American should at least watch this movie.
Mr. Mom (2019)
It is a family
It is a remake of a 1983 movie with the same name. I watched the first 2 episodes at Walmart's corporate offices and I liked them. It is a nice show to watch when you want to relax. The show is funny and well made.
The Shape of Water (2017)
Could have been a good movie.
Guillermo del Toro is an excellent filmmaker. The premises of this movie are commendable but the implementation is plain horrible. We all have been told that our society is extremely divided today and if one of the sides wins then the end of the world will come. But I wonder since when has it become a crime to have different opinions?
The main premise behind the movie is that it is okay to be different and I am sure we all agree with that. The problem is that according to the movie if one differs from the "different" than it is a crime.
The world is simply black and white and there is nothing in the middle. The bad guys are racist, sadistic, and homophobic. The good guys are emotional, creative, and acceptable.
Dream/Killer (2015)
A sad case of how legal system works in the land of the free
This review is more about the plot than how well the documentary was filmed. It does not even matter whether Ryan was guilty or not. According to the documentary and Wikipedia there was absolutely no evidence to charge him with the crime. He should not have been jailed at all but unfortunately mistakes happen; however he should have definitely been freed as soon as pretty much all the witnesses confessed to perjury. The county in this case behaved like a mob covering up for its members. It is amazing that something like that can happen here, in the US. I wonder how many more innocent people are behind the bars.
