Dashing Through the Snow (2023)
Good Christmas Movie for the Family
Honestly, I really liked Dashing through the snow. I watched it with my parents on Thanksgiving night. I am 30 and they are in their 50s and it was just a nice, clean, Christmas movie with quite a few laugh out loud moments. Santa was the perfect Santa with all the right comedic moments. The daughter was cute and adorable. Ludacris played the grumpy, unbelieving father really well! I loved his actual job of working as a crisis counselor. We need more movies showcasing the hard work of social workers. I would watch this again if I were with my young cousins or something. Sometimes we all need pure fun!
Still Up (2023)
Surprisingly Funny!
I was bored and wanted something to watch and stumbled across Still Up. I loved the main actress on The Good Doctor, so I gave it a shot. The 2 main characters have great chemistry and the storyline is unique. I don't suffer from insomnia and this show makes me glad I don't lol. Their conversations are entertaining and there are a few laugh out loud unexpected moments which will make me come back for more. I also like that you get to see them interact with other people in their lives and then see how they interact with each other. I say give it a try and go in expecting light hearted fun. Apple TV rarely disappoints and I think this is another winner!
My Name Is Mo'Nique (2023)
Glad she's back, but I wouldn't recommend.
I've loved Monique since the Parkers. I've actually been rewatching The Parkers these last few weeks, so when I saw the special I was pretty excited. I watched 98% of it and laughed twice. There was A LOT of cursing, like every other word that it became noticeable. I'm a fan of all the greats and I can't even remember Richard Pryor saying g*damn every other word (unless I'm forgetting). I also thought the special would be more about why she was blackballed, but it was more about her life. Like a standup autobiography if that makes sense. I'm glad to know more about how she was raised, but even the personal stories didn't catch the heartstrings or make me laugh. Hopefully she gets another special and will focus on different topics .
Chucky (2021)
Who is the audience?
This show has a good plot line, but it would make more sense if the main characters weren't in middle school! At least seniors in high school would be more believable. These kids having parties with no supervision and red cups, going on runs alone in the middle of the woods...makes no sense. And they have no redeeming qualities - Chucky should take them all out lol.
Ginny & Georgia (2021)
Started Strong. Still want a next season
Dear writer,
It's ok to not throw every teenage issue into the first season because then it turns into an eye-rolling drama. By the way I loved the first half of the season, but the last few episodes felt rushed. Ginny goes from this interesting and realistic teenager to an annoying brat. How do you go from one episode of learning your mom's secret to completely disregarding and saying she hates her?? Make it make sense. The writers need to slow the drama down just a little.
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Worth the Binge
Watch for yourself. It will keep you interested if you're looking for a good binge series.
Ride (2018)
Awesome Movie!
It's been awhile since I've watched a film that touched me the way this has. The actors are brilliant and the storyline is gripping. I give it a 10/10! It's a must watch.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Fantastic
I'm a 90s kid, so of course I remember watching the karate kid. It was okay at the times, but Cobra Kai takes it to a new level. The characters aren't one dimensional and they all have some good and bad in them. This show is perfect for everyone who needs to be entertained with great acting and great writing. I binged this in a few days and can't wait for season 3! We need more shows like this.
6 Underground (2019)
Boring
Honestly this movie doesn't make any sense. I wanted to like this, since it is an action movie, but come on there needs to at least be a simple plot for the brain to follow!
