Road House (2024)
McGregor ruined what should be a decent film
Went into this thinking it would suck big-time, but I was curious so gave it a go. Jake G was excellent and had a pretty realistic back story, but my god McGregor cannot act to save his life, I never want to see him in front of a camera ever again. He ruined what should have been a decent film, no idea whose idea it was to bring him in, they should be sacked.
Apart from him, it's a decent remake, good acting, plot, fight scenes, could have rated it a 7 or maybe an 8 had they brought in a decent actor for the Knox part, but McGregor brings it down to a 6 (almost a 5 but that would be harsh), it's definitely watchable.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Entertaining
Typical Snyder movie, visually excellent but paper thin plot. There are some borderline racial stereotypes which add nothing to the plot, aswell as some pointless scenes which don't progress the story. The dialogue seems like its been written by a child, really basic stuff and occasionally makes zero sense.
You can clearly see that it was written for Star Wars, it shared many characteristics, but can also see why it was rejected as a Star Wars story. That said, it was entertaining, will certainly watch part 2, but probably not part 1 again. Not sure why Hunman had an Irish accent, pointless...
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)
Terrible movie
Where do I start. Bad acting, must have used most of the budget on Forrest Whittaker. The songs were out of context for the moment, completely forced with lyrics that were nonsense. The plot is ok, but some if it just doesnt make sense. Its about an hour too long, its padded out terrible songs and scenes which are completely pointless offering nothing to the story.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016)
Nothing to like
Got to give Michael Bay credit for this, he has completely outdone himself on this occasion. He has made some pretty terrible films, and I didn't think he could do worse that what he done before, but this is a truly terrible film. That takes skill.
But seriously, there is nothing at all to like about this film. The plot, what there is, is basic and predictable. Its an attack on the senses, the action sequences, which is pretty much the whole film, are so idiotic that its almost impossible to keep track. The end scene left me dizzy, as well as giving me a headache. The acting is appalling, and the speaking parts make very little sense with the Turtles talking gibberish and contributing nothing to the story.
