This movie is about 7 strangers who mysteriously 'wake up' on a salvage ship out in the middle of nowhere with no idea of how they got there. Of course, they want off and, equally obvious, it's just not going to be that easy. This movie takes off a bit slow but maintains a decent flow that keeps you watching till the very end just to see how it turns out. It's a bit (quite a bit) predictable but still worthy of holding the viewers interest. It has a bit of a 'Saw' premise with a 'long, lost ghost ship' attitude. Antonio Sabato Jr. is still a good actor (I loved him in Earth 2, the series), I just wonder why he's not doing his thing in bigger movies. Another good actor in this movie is Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, he's been in quite a few movies (The Last Emporer, Mortal Kombat and Memoirs of a Geisha) and he's always interesting to watch...unfortunately his role in this movie is minimal although pivotal. If you're looking for something to kill the time then this movie is for you. Don't expect fireworks but you can prepare to be entertained or, at least, occupied for a while.

You'd better prepare to be driven insane because that's what this movie will leave you feeling...INSANE... and angry that you began watching it in the first place. Based on the summary of this movie, I was expecting cults, witches and the like but no such luck. I sat there for an hour and a half waiting on the 'good stuff'...well, it never happened. What a waste. Not even enough about the plot of the movie to comment on it without telling the the premise of the movie and spoiling what little is left for future viewers to balk at. I would, though, advise against anyone else suffering through this movie and its long, drawn-out, thinly veiled attempt at horror. I gave it 3 stars simply because, well, it tried. But try it might, it failed. Watch this if you must but remember, that'll be 90 minutes you can never get back.

When Boyd and Reich are in the pit and the movie flashes to Ives skipping rocks across a river then laughing maniacally. When the movie flashes back to Boyd and he looks at Reich, Reich has this seriously wide grin on his face under the tree branches. Eyes wide open and a million dollar smile. Then a few moments later they show Reich again, he's still grinning but in the next shot his face has no branches on it and the smile is gone. I'm a huge fan of Neal McDonough, the actor who played Reich, so I couldn't help but to notice. This was obviously done intentionally probably just to make sure we were paying attention. Did anyone else notice this and, if not, then you'd do well to take another look at the movie, it's pretty funny. It happens about 50 minutes into it.

I really should have learned more about this movie before renting it. It was one of those movies where you keep watching it figuring it's got to get better. Then, when it ends, you feel stupid for having wasted precious time in your life that you can never get back. Ice-T did his bad guy thing and, well, that was the highlight of the evening. The pictures of the shuttle looks like it was done with a little toy inside of a box and the spacewalking scenes were funny because you could see the strings attached to the space suits. The script was lacking and the car chase scene with the guy bleeding and going unconscious was incredible because he drove better than I could have on one of my best days. All in all, I have seen worse but this sure isn't one I'd recommend or want to remember.
