Redeeming Love (2022)
Stunningly Beautiful
And by that I mean Abigal Cowen who I have never seen before; and also the story, acting, landscape, cinematography, Everybody hits a home run on this and what a treat to hear Laure Daigles over the closing credits. You will truly enjoy this film.
Agent Game (2022)
Nope, just nope.
This movie smacks of being made only with the sequel in mind, as you will see if you watch till the end. There is NO conclusion to the story, it just stops in the middle of the action.
Stand by for episode 2 ? The problem is the story isn't worth a second episode.
Real good to see Mel Gibson on the screen, even in a smaller role; but not worth paying for.
About Us (2020)
Now this is painful
Discovered this film while searching Allison Miller ( Maggie of 'A Million Little things" ) and what a shock. This girl brought tears to my eyes. She is just an incredible dramatic actress.
The movie is presented as a couple trying to save their marriage, don't believe it. Strangely enough they are saying goodbye to their marriage and travel a tortured road to discovery.
I can't give away the ending but if you don't cry you're not human.
Watch it with your loved one.
Royal Hearts (2018)
Good stuff
Forget the negative reviews. If you watch and enjoy HM movies you will love this one. James Brolin is perfectly cast and Cindy Busby can do no wrong.
Ken Park (2002)
Crap on a stick.
I want my 93 minutes back!! This movie (not withstanding Maeve Quinlans PERFECT breasts ) is absolutely BORING. Musical score and numbers terrible, Screenplay obviously written by a sixth grader, and acting that will leave you wishing for an elementary school production.
What was Larry Clark thinking? Oh, wait; obviously he wasn't thinking.
Maggie (2015)
Arnolds Finest
This is definitely NOT a zombie movie. If I had known it was a zombie movie I wouldn't have bothered to watch it and I would have missed a great film and some great performances.
This is a film about family struggles of the worst kind and all three of the main leads put on wonderful performances. The direction, sets, cinematography and sound track are perfect. Feels and looks like depression era America and so it should.
The story is compelling ( except for the zombie aspect :) ), it could have been any deadly communicable disease but the films strong point is the performances of Arnold and Abigail and to a lesser extent Joely ( simply less screen time, but still spot on ).
This is Arnolds masterwork to this point and should NOT be missed by any movie fan, Arnold fan, or Arnold critic. DON'T miss it!!
Table 19 (2017)
Take the time
OK, I don't write reviews. I will this time because I watched this in spite of some awful reviews because I love Anna Kendrick. "Indy" films are always a gamble and I love the fact that ms Kendrick seems willing to try anything. I am pleased to report that this film is really well written.
Yes you will know these folks, no surprises here, they are your neighbors and relatives; but the actors involved play them like old friends and they play them well; not a missed note in the bunch, not even from Lisa Kudrow who can over act with the best.
Definitely worth your time.
Hounddog (2007)
Amovie to be seen
So, here I am, almost ten years after the fact, writing a review. I am a big fan of miss Fannings and I decided to see this film when I read about it on Amazon just recently. I had never heard of it before and I shouldn't be surprised after seeing the opening weekend box office take.
Not withstanding all the criticism you will read on this site you MUST see this movie if you admire the acting skill of Dakota Fanning. I watched Man on fire to see Denzel and fell in love with a little girl! The so-called "rape" scene consists of a shot of Dakota from the shoulders up and it made me want to cry; She's just that expressive. The other moment of great acting I notice was her singing the blues in the barn (nice voice). Before the rape OK but not touching my heart; After the rape, a completely different experience! How can any human without decades of life experience know how to do that?
I believe she would have, and should have, won awards for this film had it been given any kind of support. Give yourself a treat and watch this.
