Mystify: Michael Hutchence (2019)
Nice try to justify Mr Hutchence being abusive to Helena Christensen
So it turns out this doc is a way to justify how a person who got hit by somebody and suffers loss of smell and taste after refusing medical treatment for a long time becomes abusive against his partner, Helena Christensen.
I never knew a consequence of losing smell and taste because of nerve damage was also the cause of being violent.
I am not making it out, she says quite disturbing things in the documentary but sadly it seems to be ok. She says: he was aggressively against going to hospital, he got almost violent, very angry side of him came of him, things got really heavy in his head.... that sounds like abuse.
In other declarations by Kirk Pengilly, INXS guitarrist, he says: and then he was this aggresive violent monster...
These are words used by them in the documentary.
Sadly Passion Pictures and the people behind this documentary produced by the BBC seems cool with it. Appalling.
Appalling how the music industry still find ways to justify these kind of behaviours.
Ammonite (2020)
A bad copy of Portrait of a Lady on Fire
I guess some producer watched Portrait of a Lady on Fire and thought: Let's do it but being directed by a man... the result is a bad bland copy. I don't get how Winslet and Ronan got involved...
Death to 2020 (2020)
the usual misogyny
Mr Brooker could be much better if he could stop being so misogynistic but I guess It is difficult for him as he already shown this on Black Mirror, it is sad to see the best of him can't be better because of his prejudices. There are the average British woman and the typical US mom but no average British man and no typical US dad... contributing to people blaming for Brexit and Trump and racism in USA to white women... That is misogyny.
Criminal: Spain (2019)
the Spain version is a pure exercise of mansplaining
A pitty the version from Spain surrenders to sexism. Actors are bad, the scripts are very bad. I can't imagine how the screen writers handled to turn a series with a female boss and a balanced team into a pure exercise of mansplaining where men tell constantly the boss what she has to do and how wrong she is and how the two female in the team don't get along because one of them is jealous of her beauty boss... Comparing it with the UK version is a bad parody.
Criminal: Spain: Isabel (2019)
You can see is the Spain version because of the mysogyny
I started watching the UK version and I really liked it, incredible performances and good scripts. I started the Spanish one and the script is quite bad, the performances not that good but the worst part by far is the fact that in 2020 Spanish screenwriters still creates histories so full of mysogyny. in the Spain version the female boss doesn't get along with her female co-worker... of course, because the screenwriters still live in the 70's and think women come to this world to fight who is the prettiest one.. pretty stupid and outdated.
La camarista (2018)
The English subtitles leave out most of the plot
Which is why I can see many English users saying they think the movie is flat. A very good movie.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
The creators had the caucasity to say Diego looks like Antonio Banderas
The second series started fine but after 2 episodes is just a mess, nothing makes sense, they are just running to stand still till you reach a point in ep 7 or 8 where it doesn't matter anymore. And then, the big surprise, Klaus saying Diego he looks like Antonio Banderas... because he is Latin. Anglos not being able to see beyond their faces... massive caucasity. Appalling.
Reckoning (2019)
Equally bad and mysoginistic
Another series about a serial killer blaming on an absent mother for a serial killer... Yeah, women are responsible for being killed by serial killers and for serial killers killing women... same old history. The famous physocological profile the FBI did about serial killers never worked, it was a silly sexist method to sell blockbusters about... serial killers. Apart from most of serial killers hating women, there is nothing else in common and it has been used for the last 40 years to blame on women for being bad mothers... oh boy. Obvious history, stupid argument... silly, just silly.
Watchmen (2019)
Damon Lindelof is another cheap Ozymandias
Damon Lindelof thinks is Ozymandias but with this series he has proven to be just an egomaniac unable to remake Watchmen. It is insulting not mentioning Alan Moore the creator of Watchmen in the credits, not even as Watchmen creator. Alan Moore didn't want to get involved in this pastiche so shame on you Dave Gibbons.
Mid series it seems more like a Lost episode and that is what this series is, a bland too simplistic adaptation of a masterpiece that changed the comic world forever.
Doctor Manhattan history is just bad, the melodramatic music in the romantic moments among them is just silly.
The end is running to stand still, all this mess for nothing, just making again the same as in the comic but badly and silly as all the tones and meanings of the comic are lost.
Don't loose time with this series and watch the comic.
His Dark Materials (2019)
Boring and badly done
I didn't like anything in the series. The stories are badly told, a lot of loose ends. I don't understand how Ruth Wilson can work as an actress, she is just the most overacting artificial person. And the worst of all, it was quite boring, mostly because how badly the story is told.
Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak (2020)
Did Bayer payed for this crap?
I can't believe with the media talking about a new deadly flu how they can make this apocalyptic sensacionalist piece of crap. Not the time for paranoia.
Barry Lyndon (1975)
Cold and boring
What is point of technological advances when delivering such a bore film?. No much more to add.
13 Reasons Why (2017)
A bad soap opera with bad actors
Not much more to add. It's like trying to make a story dealing with interesting issues being perfomed by stones.
Mindhunter (2017)
Same old story
So it turns out Wendy Carr character is based on psychiatric forensic researcher Ann Wolbert Burgess, a prominent Boston College professor. The funny thing is that her work is based on treating survivors of sexual trauma and abuse, and studying the thought process of violent offenders but in the series as im all shows about serial killers she studies the serial killers, the monster instead of the victims. Same as always... let's be real, serial killer are terribly boring and sordid people unable to overcome their childhood but media keeps portraying them as special creatures extremely interesting. This series has this same point of view over and over. Boring and quite stupid as this FBI psycho profile nonsense was toned down quite a while ago for not being much effective. Most of serial killers were caught because they confessed to the police or because of pure police detective jobs. Time to update yourself Mr Fincher, we are not anymore in the 90's with Seven.
Narcos (2015)
The bad accents and some big mistakes with historic facts damage Narcos
I have seen Narcos and I think is really well done but the lack of credible accents tears apart the portrait of Escobar and his drug empire in Colombia. As native Spanish it makes very weird watching Narcos, I am not from Colombia but the problem with the accents and even with non native spoken Spanish is very clear. I just don't understand how they did this big mistake because it is really obvious while watching the series, you can't portrait a series about drug lords in Colombia with characters talking extremely slow, with no slang and with Escobar speaking weird because the main actor is not native Colombian. There is no excuse in doing so as the Spanish spoken parts are with subtitles. The problem is bigger as the series clearly wants to give a realistic style to the show, impossible when you make this mistake.
Apart from that, the part talking about el Español is just a joke. When they say he killed minister Blanco in Spain, in reality he killed Carrero Blanco, a military during the brutal dictatorship in Spain. It is a huge, extremely redneck insulting US mistake to show Blanco (Carrero Blanco, not even able to write his name properly) as a politician instead of a military killer who participated in the barbaric Spanish dictatorship. Five minutes reading Wikipedia before writing the script would have avoid it.
