House M.D. (2004)
It's for the Rebels.
For those who ever said that breaking the rules is a wrong thing to do... well they are right, this show shows that, this show teaches you about consequences while at the same time showing you to break the rules. Every episode has a lesson, every episode is a nail biting and edge of your seat sitting episode leaving you wanting more. The characters work their way into your heart mainly because you can't help but to relate to them, the cases leave you wondering about cures and about medicine in general. It's that type of show that makes you want to change or at least consider changing your career, it's that medical show that convinces you to become a doctor. Hugh Laurie gives an epic performance as a sarcastic maverick with a wit that you have never seen before, the supporting cast does similar. Coming in a close second place for out standing characters that you have ever seen, the supporting cast gives the background of how things should be running in a hospital, but towards the end they start taking their own ground showing that people can evolve and take their place where they always knew they belonged. The cases are not your typical cold and flu, even though at times it may seem it is a cold or flu but wait for the ending that you will never see coming. Leaving you with a punched heart and violated feelings whenever Dr. House opens his mouth to say things like "Everybody lies" or to convince a patient to live,or to express how he really feels like inside. With the right amount of life lessons, humor, blood, things surrounding medicine, and a cast that you will love even years after its end, House M.D is a show that will leave you wanting more till the very end, with the ending of just not the show but also the episodes leaving you shocked yet relieved at the same time, a roller coaster of emotions and quotes you will be saying everyday, and humor you will love. Equally funny as it is dramatic, it will leave you with a great show to be hooked on, and actors to love.
Heartbeat (2016)
Another one for the rule breakers, One for the Mutineers
If you appreciated the rebellious act that Hugh Laurie gave in House, MD then this show is for you, it has the same amount of rebellion, just toned down a lot. Despite what the critics and audience say if you give it a chance to evolve and explain itself the more you will like it. It's filled with interesting medical cases that at times take drastic turns, but these plot twists will make sense towards the end. It's a show that helps define girl power in the medical field, it has the right amount of dose of humor and sarcasm. Showing you that at times you have to break the rules and take chances even if it means there is a small chance that everything will be okay, or in this case, that everyone will survive. NBC already has two medical shows, both holding their own, both giving us the right amount of drama and blood, and characters to get hooked on, like this show does too. You can easily add this one onto the list of medical t.v dramas you don't mind watching. With just the right amount of silver linings, humor, sarcasm, medical talk, cases, and procedures, and a big giant amount of sticking the middle finger at authority. It is a light hearted medical drama that keeps you watching and wanting more.
Tomorrowland (2015)
Eye Opener
While this movie has received many critical reviews claiming it is a loss of money, it is the complete opposite. When looking for a film that is both family friendly, and educating Tomorrowland is definitely the one to watch. It teaches everyone to never stop believing in themselves, and to always keep dreaming, Walt Disney says that "... This whole thing started with a dream and a mouse." The future part in the movie comes with a bit of a surprise but opens your eyes due to the fact that it makes you realize that the future really is in your hands. It teaches you that you have the power to change it and that the time to take action in now, after all the future is tomorrow. With the glimpse of what it could be through the eyes of an optimist, it also looks through the pessimistic point of view, showing you the good and the bad and how it matters when you take charge.
