Mardaani (2014)
a splendid film which brings you back to reality
Mardaani is a film which portrays reality as it is, no sugar-coating in it. It is a splendid film one which should be watched by all cine lovers. The film did not garner good box office results as it did not contain the normal routine of item songs and non-existent screenplay which most bolly-blockbusters now a days have, but what it has is treasure worthy. The film leaves an impact; it makes you want to scream and tell everybody you know that this film is a must watch. Hell it made me log in to IMDb, rate it and review it(my first review)!
So guys please see this movie, not for the very awe inspiring portrayal of a police officer by Rani Mukherjee but for the story it portrays.
You will thank me for it.
Inkaar (2013)
understated gem!
This film is really a gem. Why? because during its runtime of 2:07:19;not for once will you find yourself distracting to think of something else than what is going on screen. It transported me to the INKAAR conference room table along with the other characters. The story is trimmed out of all excesses and is just right. The acting is more or less good. It keeps you on the edge till the last moment thinking "SO WHO'S WHAT?" So please if you can get your hands on this movie, don't delay watching it; because its worth it! I gave it a 7 because, well, i did not particularly like the ending was hoping for something different than that.
Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014)
a film which is provides far from reality
Well, my first reason for seeing this movie was Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar. They both are great actors something which they carry on with in this movie also. But in order for a movie to succeed one needs not only good actors portraying their parts correctly but also a part good enough to portray. The main reason why this film is such a letdown for me is its storyline which is a complete cliché. I expected this film to be an urban comic caper on the likes of its predecessor 'PYAAR KE SIDE EFFECTS'. PKSE was funny and took an entirely new take on the relationship between a girl and a boy. This film however is far from taking a new take. it goes along the same route of all mindless comic films where the characters who are madly in love with each other are nevertheless lying to each other and not conversing with each other. they share the most dysfunctional relationship ever seen, but are still shown to be in LOVE! the ending is again a cliché. I thought it would be the only saving grace of the film, but, no; it was not.
I could go on and on about how this movie disappointed me; but I choose to brood on my own from hereon.
See it only if you are a fan of the leading pair, like me.(sadly)
