Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (2022)
Seriously????
Reading through the reviews, I was really forced to question what passes for "entertainment" these days. I gave it a 3 because, much to my own dissapointment, I actually chuckled a few times. THAT saved it from getting a 1.
My biggest problem with this show, and I'm horrified that nobody else on here has even touched on it, is how mental health is used as a comedic crutch. Make no mistake, the voiceover is another personality IN HIS HEAD that only he can hear. He can't predict how this other "personality" is going to respond to anything or react to anything. Sounds like mental illness to me. And Netflix India? They want you to laugh at it.
Snatchers (2019)
Super Fun!
After watching this, arfdawg-1's review prompted me to write one of my own. Now we're all entitled to our own opinions, his review just came off as mean and uninformed.
I watch A LOT of independent horror, and horror/comedies are usually pretty bad. Through THAT lens, this flick had fairly decent acting and writing. Will it make it onto Top 10 or awards lists? Not a chance. It's quirky, campy and fun though. Imagine what it could have been with a bigger budget.
I snorted.
I snickered.
I laughed out loud a couple of times.
I enjoyed it, dammit!!!
Attack of the Killer Donuts (2016)
Good For A Few Chuckles
If you enjoyed 'Return of the Killer Tomatoes', then this movie is right up your alley.
It's a fairly standard B-movie guys. Low budget. Bad acting. Asinine plot. Laughable production values.
All that being said, I found this gem of a flick entertaining for it's 98 minute run time. It had plenty of laughs and the CGI of the jumping and murderous donuts is hilarious to say the least. And people off-screen throwing the donuts to show them in pursuit? Brilliantly moronic.
I've seen B-movies that I had to stop after the first 20 minutes or so, they were too awful to watch even for the sake of trying to ironically enjoy a cheap movie. Not the case here. Sure it will never win any awards and is never destined to become a cult classic, but for this flick to remain fairly unknown is a pity. I, for one, was entertained.
