Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015)
A Kangana show but......
I liked the movie, especially the Datto character which is done very naturally by Kangana. It overshadows the character of Tanu. Real locations are selected in such a way so that it matches the story and character. Overall, the movie is good in a way that it carries the story from where it was left in 2011.
Everyone has played their role beautifully barring few scenes where Deepak Dobriyal was over the top.
'but' in the title of my review is because I personally didn't like the climax of the movie. Everything was going fine except for the last 5 min. (this is my own opinion).
I am definitely expecting a third part in this series.
Kaam Shastra (1975)
excellent movie on sex education
such a brilliant movie. dealing with issues related to sex so lucidly that a layman can understand everything without any doubt. i am amazed that this movie was made in 1975 and it deals with issues which are still very much relevant. I will recommend this movie to every person. This movie is a very good attempt to remove the stigma attached with sex related issues in our society. And a very good thing about this movie is that it covers almost all the matter related to sex issues of both man and woman
P.S.- if any teenager/adult wants to discuss about sex with you, just suggest him/her to watch this movie.
Kanoon (1960)
A Hidden Gem of Hindi Cinema
Kanoon (1960) is an ingenious movie. Those who lament that Hindi cinema can't compete with their Hollywood counterparts, this movie is the answer. it is a no non-sense movie and while i'll not waste this space in writing the plot or creating the suspense about the movie, I'll write a few things which i noticed. firstly the screenplay of the movie is gritty and tightly held. when the movie starts to unfold, you tend to get the feeling that it is going to be a very good watch(which actually it turns out to be).
All the actors have played their parts very well. Though everyone has acted brilliantly, but actor Jeevan and Nana Palsikar steals the show. Jeevan in his 10 minute role only proves that he is a better actor than what he appears to be in his other films. Nana Palsikar on the other hand turned an ordinary role of a petty thief into such an unforgettable one that it eventually won him best supporting role award.
Nanda is OK, Mahmood was under-utilised. Om Prakash is Perfect in his cameo. Rajendra Kumar is OK and as usual Ashok Kumar is regular(i mean masterly).
I would like to end on a trivial note, that at some places in the movie the background score, lighting and cinematography gives you a hint that you are watching a Alfred Hitchcock movie. And it intrigues me that whether B.R Chopra actually made this movie after getting inspired from some of the Hitchcock's movies of that era.
Inkaar (2013)
A Must Watch for All
Inkaar turns out to be an impeccable movie to be made on issue as serious as sexual harassment. Hindi cinema has created very few movies on corporate issues (Corporate, Turning 30 to name a few). Inkaar undoubtedly will lead this chart. the storyline is very tightly written so is the screenplay, leaving viewers stick to their seats till the end. as far as acting is considered, everyone played their part beautifully, Chitrangada and Arjun Rampal looked graceful, complementing each other. It is very obvious here to say that Sudhir Mishra has created a gem (after Ye Saali Zindagi, another very good paisa vasool movie). Surely a must watch for everyone.
