Absolutely fantastic. 100% in her lane.
8 November 2023
I am trying to figure out what makes this series so great. One I think it's not your typical travel show. "Look at my hotel. Watch me eat this thing you've seen someone eat a million times. Look at me take a picture in front of that typical thing." No. She takes us to an Uzbek wedding, talks to a female DJ in Kyrgyzstan exploring social topics. She is bold (in a polite way) and not shy or awkward. She is absolutely the right person for the job. She often is speaking or reading in the local language so she is on top of being beautiful she is also smart. I may be a little biased because I always have found Central Asia quite mysterious. Besides one other series (an Italian one about the Silk Road) I haven't seen many travel series that spend extensive amount of time in the region.

Having so much fun with this show
23 February 2023
Is this the best show ever created? No it's not. But from the first scene I started having fun. The opener is actually a fight which normally I dislike but it was so comedic you have no choice but to laugh. Quickly we are introduced to two main characters, family and friends. I was instantly sucked in like I was part of the crew and i knew their background stories. I'm also LOVING the fact it's minority (racial and sexual) yet I'm 4 episodes in & there have been exactly ZERO stereotypes or low bar racial jokes. There are plenty of other jokes tho sometimes it's a little corny but there is worse out there (re: anything with a laugh track). This is a goofy with a sprinkle of mystery coming of age teen drama, I'd recommend it!

What is even going on here
10 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just don't see how any of this episode makes sense for the overall story of this season. Booker as a character still is just so strange. He's not crew of discovery yet is afforded parking space for his ship and speaking rights at federation engagements. Now he steals something and the chase to get it back is mostly a scene in some bar with aliens and playing card games to get it back? Then there is some side scenes of just being generally stressed. Overall I've mostly enjoyed this series it is way better than Picard but sometimes I don't know if it's that they are trying too hard or not trying enough but I'm easily distracted due to loss of interest.

Too much uncomfortable scenes
16 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'd say for the most part the acting here is pretty good. The story line tho is where I get lost. There are lots of disjointed stories and you aren't really sure if they are blending or separate. And there are some extremely uncomfortable scenes that I don't think were really necessary. I mean maybe that's what they were going with the series but the way the priest was so unnecessarily aggressive and lying. Like why even try to hide something for someone you know is a pedophile. Why not immediately call the police instead you have to lie for a pedophile then chase down a woman and man handle her. Also the cut scenes with Tucci in jail as a lawyer I honestly didn't get the point and I'm not sticking around to find out. I can handle some awkward scenes but this clearly was designed to make you feel uncomfortable. No thanks. I already have to work a 9-5 I don't need to watch something so gross.

It's exactly what I expected
3 December 2022
And I love it. I don't understand the people who willingly watch a romcom Christmas movie on streaming and decide this was the worst movie ever. Are there some out there that are just excruciating to watch? Absolutely. But this is one of many in the genre that doesn't disappoint. In retrospect some of the storyline is kind of cliche and predictable but you sign up for that watching this. I liked the characters even if some of them were a little flat (the guy who didn't talk). Brooke Shields is an excellent actress and played the role perfectly. I would have liked a little more layering of the narrative of the new book in the actual movie just to add some complexity to the story line. And another complaint would be the eventual love between the main characters was a wee bit tough to feel but honestly I'm ok with it. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and if you like Christmas romcoms this likely will not disappoint.

Are you kidding me?

This show is just so good. There is clearly a budget as there are some great actors, often filming out of country (granted a lot is staged but not all of it), tons of extras when cities are shut down or mass emergency. Also there is so much action that normally I'd say it's too much or not plausible but the foundation of the story is so well laid that the pieces are all there. Nothing seems to be forced but sometimes it moves so fast I'm like what is happening. I've always been a fan of Téa Leoni and this show beyond solidifies that. After staying in the same hotel as Biden and seeing our federal agents in action in real life my family was left in awe it was the highlight of our trip. They run deep with people of expertise everyone looks and acts smart and are about their wits you just sense it. This show really conveys that exact same energy as real life (albeit this is a drama I'm not dumb haha). With that being said I'd highly recommend this series as something being well written well made and a series apart of the rest.

Very enjoyable
13 November 2022
Falling for Christmas was everything you can ask for in a holiday rom-com. Full of super corny unnecessary moments but it was also really entertaining. It was clearly well written and produced as there is a definite factor that sets it apart from most hallmark/lifetime movies of similar themes.

All of the characters were like able in their own way. And the story line developed pretty well & kind of went on longer than I thought it would, but I mean that in a good way. I actually found myself getting slightly teary eyed towards the end. To me it was exactly what I hoped for. I think Lindsey's acting was on point and she turned it out!

Snooze fest
18 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The pace of the story line was absolutely glacial. I am fairly certain that I had dejavue while watching thinking I had already seen the same scene but an hour earlier. I did not think Matt's acting was great. A couple scenes made me feel like I was just watching him work show up for a job. Also the multiple rape scenes were just awful to watch. Unfortunately they were well acted Which added to my dislike for the film. I do not like rape scenes they are very triggering and off putting. I suppose for this story line they were essential to an extent. I usually love period pieces but this film did not resonate with me. The scenery props and filming was very well done but ultimately the story line was an absolute bore.

I was entertainied
11 September 2022
I've now seen this a couple times. Sometimes the acting can be a little dull and the script sometimes took some excessive liberties in realistic possibilities. The visual effects were really good and the story took a lot of turns to keep you engaged. But I don't think this it's as bad as people are currently rating. IMDB has been getting more harsh I've noticed over the years. I used to never watch anything below 6 but now 5.

I'd recommend to give it a try especially if you live space films with human evolution theories and alien tech. It's not quite at the caliber of Prometheus but overall I think it's an enjoyable film and everyone these days has expectations that a film should have a one billion dollar budget and have a million awards to give a decent review.

A chore to watch
22 June 2022
This was like if you asked a high school class to write a play. So many cliches stereotypes and just pathetically obvious next turns. The. Saving grace was indeed Belen Rueda she was the only believable character. Meanwhile the brides family was so obnoxious they were more like cartoon characters than humans in a movie. All in all I could not wait for the second the movie ended. Unfortunately I was meant to endure it with my partner who happened to love it. Good luck to all.

I am confused
3 June 2022
This entire season is just blah. I do not connect with any of the characters except captain Pike, I think he executes his role the best. Everyone else I just feel like they are actors and I'm behind the scenes watching actors repeat lines. I'm just not feeling it whatsoever!

I'm no trekkie or purest, I'll take the story any way you want to give it. Perhaps that is my problem because it does seem like a lot of fans love it.

A lot rested on dr strange
3 April 2022
Almost the entire story line weighed upon the magic of strange and Spider-Man begging for his help. Dr. Strange has always been a hard ass yet for this film he was bending over backwards doing universe destroying magic just to help Spider-Man and his friends get into MIT. The whole story line was just whack.

I might be biased because of my love for both Craig and Adam but for me it's a good escape from reality after a long day of work. Good for some laughs!

Crazy title, wild story, fun time
1 February 2022
I was throughly entertained. I keep seeing comments saying dull and predictable. There is no way you could have known the ending. People just love to complain and act like they could write brilliant pieces for Netflix...

This is a crime drama done right. There is some personality and quirk to it. Sure the story gets a bit far fetched, but who cares it's not a documentary and none of it is so wild that it doesn't make sense.

I generally do not sit long enough to watch entire movies but this Monday evening in January after work I watched this series in its entirety.

I was just tortured
29 December 2021
By the ad for this show that hasn't even aired yet. I want that 50 seconds back and I want it back now. I saw a man being pummeled in the groin for laughs and giggles on a massive stage for a production in the millions. Absolutely pathetic television. I sincerely hope this show fails. It is insulting to my intelligence not unlike the masked singer and maybe a few other current shows who's names escape me.

Where to start
21 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
We will start with it not being scary. The villain was actually a victim of police brutality which you learn early on and you feel bad for him. Next critique is the unending jabs about white people. It honestly was really distracting and it did not add value to the film. There are other ways to bring up topics of race without just saying white man bad, black man oppressed.

Yes, the reviews that do not enjoy this movie are accurate. Being part of a slow cancer death for 30 minutes is not entertaining. It was decent acting, possibly too realistic? But the story took too long to go anywhere and eventually became basic action movie hoohaa that anyone could write/direct with some money.

Didn't expect reviews to be so low
4 April 2021
I know a lot of Melissa's movies get lower ratings and I'm not sure why. They are comedic, have entertaining story lines, and over all enjoyable to watch in my opinion. This film gave me quite a few laughs, it was fun to follow along. Was it the best movie I've ever seen, no but worth my time.

The story line is just messsssy. It's not meant to be believable obviously but it's just not developing well in my opinion. Loose ends everywhere and I'm just kind of tired of it all.

Dictionary definition documentary
24 October 2020
This is my absolute favorite documentary of any genre. The correspondent, Alfred, takes us on a journey from Europe to China along the Silk Road. He takes us into cultures that are to this day apart from the global connected society. He does it effortlessly and the entire series is like a movie. I was so captivated that I didn't even realize until the third episode that I was watching in English even though it was filmed in French and whatever local language of the region they were in. I've watched the series twice now. Highly recommended.

A mix of comedies

Sure it's lewd and crude but I don't care! Sometimes you just gotta live. There are super dumb puns mixed in with hilarious comedic moments. It works for me, and I crack up with every episode.

Love this show.
13 April 2020
Her personality is refreshing she honestly seems angelic (compared to me at least haha!) she is calm cool and collected not only in the kitchen but in front of the camera too. Her recipes I find to be obtainable (not to be confused with boring, they are not) They don't call for saffron or exotic spices only found in Marrakech. Today she used black garlic which I've never cooked with but I've seen. Her recipes are clean and totally copyable. Meaning you can do it, you don't need to sousvide anything.

Crass but not too much and completely unpredictable
26 January 2020
It was a simple plot line at the beginning: late 20 something feels compelled to move out of family house. Well 30 minutes later 20 different things happened. They were quite whimsical events and rather implausible but it's not real life! So I was thoroughly entertained the entire time and I am excited for the second episode to air!

Predictable
25 January 2020
Every single time I watch the show, which is infrequently, there is always a race joke. Also her energy is too forced too hyped with yelling almost for the entire show. I wanted to like it but I don't. I think she could get better tho with more practice and less white people jokes. I've heard her poke fun at Indian culture but no others.
