I've never been a fan of the original, so I was cautious with this one, but really enjoyed the fresh take, the morbid humour and revamped characters. All in all a solid cartoon that isn't afraid to ruffle some feathers :-) The focus on Velma as the main character seems well-chosen and also takes the step away from the generic tone of the original series. The different critical statements on the change in personality of the characters simply points to the fact that this series has dared to rethink a classic cartoon, that's outlived its purpose. And at the same time, it's clear that this is before the original series, so there might still be time for a change of everything (brainswapping and all), which would satisfy the ones missing the classic.
